This show was first introduced to me by a friend of mine who sent me a link to the first episode when the second half of Season 1 was about to begin. Since then, I binged the watched it all the way up until "Enchanting Grom Night" was about to premiere. I've really enjoyed the story of it all with Luz living out her dream as a witch with her own found family of Eda, King and Hooty, her friendship with Willow and Gus, and even eventually becoming girlfriends with Amity. I also really got into the mysteries of Eda's curse and Philip Wittebane.
But the one unique thing that I've really admired about this show is how creative it's been with it's titles to spell out a secret phrase while also hiding codes throughout each episode to eventually form their own messages. No other show I've watched has ever done something this creative and I tip my hat off to Dana Terrace and her team for that.
Thanks to the show, it actually inspired me to create an Owl House OC of my own. Elissa Nightingale. When I was creating this character, I wanted it to be someone who is unique with their own lore and such, and really someone who'd make a great addition to the cast. I confess, the idea of Shadow Magic actually comes from theorizing a potential power to use for the next protagonist in the "Life is Strange" video game series. And since there weren't many others in the show who play Hexes Hold'em or use the cards in other ways, I wanted to take advantage of that by depicting her as the best Hexes Hold'em player of Hexside and came up a way they can also be used outside of playing a game with them via chew through restrains and sic em upon others to chomp on. I even bought a deck of the cards myself from the MysteryShack website. (Full disclosure, XxSkilletSaviorxX is also my username that I use on DeviantArt.)
I even paid for commissions to be done for Elissa Nightingale. Such as the very first by martoonsart. Showcasing her Shadow Magic and using Hexes Hold'em cards by Issabolical. And even Elissa meeting Luz properly for the first time by admiralDT8. The actual first time Elissa would notice Luz would be when Luz is pretending to be an abomination in the cafeteria and Amity tried demanding who she really is while Elissa is playing a game of Hexes Hold'em. I would like to do more in the future to further showcase my OC... if I have enough to pay for them.
What I would really like to do one day is to have some fanfiction written for Elissa Nightingale in a way that fits her and her family into the show.
Another thing that I've had fun with about this show is Beta Luz and how different I'd interpret the show would be if Luz had the personality that differs from her final version on the show for Season 1 and Season 2 while also wielding her trademark bat.
While it also bums me out how this show can't have a full Season 3 that it really deserves, I know Dana and her team had given it their all to bring this all to a close in the best way possible. That being said, I'd like to say thanks again to MoringMark for giving us an unofficial Season 3 throughout the whole hiatus after "King's Tide". And with the finale of the show on the way, I would also like to say thanks to you all for being a part of the ride. I will have tissues at the ready and hope that Belos finally gets the comeuppance he fully deserves while Luz gets to be happy with everyone she loves dearly.
