2023.03.27 06:05 microscopic_butthole I want to see a movie in the theatre ASAP - going solo, experiences? I want to go on either LSD or shrooms.

I’ve never been to a theatre alone, but i’ve always wanted to. I’m returning to work after 6 months off for therapy and it’s one of my last (and biggest) goals for self care tasks as i was so depressed for years and i finally feel like therapy is working for me. it feels good, i’m in a great headspace and i’m an experienced tripper.
Anyone have any experiences to share? tips/tricks? did you find it overwhelming? what was your dosage?
thanks :)

2023.03.27 05:57 Intelligent-Room-481 Need Ideas For A Playwriting Event

Hello everyone, I'm a playwriting chair for a theatre board at my university. We are thinking of implementing a new work slot into our season, but certain people don't want to do the typical staged readings other boards do. Does anyone have ideas for how we could uplift new writers in a unique manner?

2023.03.27 05:51 Hydrakiller218 Young man looking for vasectomy

I’m an 18 yo AMAB and I’m looking for local doctors (I’m in Arlington, Tx) or offices that will give me a vasectomy even though I’m so young, I checked the doctors page but all the doctors in my area were for women sterilization. I’m wondering if some doctors will turn me down due to my age and where I can get one done. Thank y’all.

2023.03.27 05:49 Living-Definition-90 Tabletop/Board Game Groups in Wider Tokyo? + Meeting Friends

Hey everyone, my partner and I (22M) moved to west Tokyo from New Zealand a few months ago but have been struggling to meet many English speakers around the area.
Just wondering if any of you know of any English tabletop/board game groups or anything similar that have regular (weekly?) meetups in the wider Tokyo area? Or I’d be willing to make a trip into the city for it! Otherwise just any general advice for meeting English speaking friends in wider Tokyo would be awesome! (Interested in hiking, games, film, books and theatre)
Thanks!

2023.03.27 05:48 Dry_Western_2342 Best Actors in History: the ones who went to Acting School versus the ones who didn’t. What list do you prefer?

Keep in mind that the ones who didn’t go to Acting School still took classes or had private coaching, it’s rare to find an actor who hasn’t received any kind of training. And everyone’s needs and wants are different when it comes to acting education, so if you feel pressured to major in acting in college or spend many years in a program just know that you don’t have to do that. Lastly, there is probably more actors who deserve to be in either list but I don’t want to make them very long.

2023.03.27 05:27 Opposite-Intern-4692 My social life is the one that scares me the most.

Hi, Im 19f, and currently studying to be an actuary. I'm in my second year.
I like what I study, I like math, I like statistics, I like macroeconomics. It's just the nature of my faculty that bums me down.
I am more of the alternative with a couple of artsy hobbies kind, I've also been quite extroverted for most of my teenage years. This seems to contradict a little bit with what would be the usual actuary profile.
The economics faculty in my university is specifically made so that you are able to work while studying. This means very few hours of classes and being left to do most of the studying by yourself. As there are very few hours of classes the professor talks the whole time, no time for conversation or any possibility of making friends.
Either way, I have met people and kept in contact, we just never really became friends. I've had a hard time finding anything I share with the people I study with.
As I left my hometown to study, I lost closeness to contact with most of my friends and have only been left with my closest friend group, which, either way, I only saw every two months or every month because we are all in different cities. This summer I had a fallout with them and this has increased my stress over my social life.
I still have a couple of friends, two to be specific that live in the same city I do now. And I have a boyfriend which whom I spend most of my time with. But that's literally it.
I see my friends and cousin that are studying liberal arts or humanities and all the great people they meet and all these amazing activities they get invited to and it makes me question my choices. But it doesn't make any sense. I like what I study, I am good at it and it would make a good living out of it, why would I change for something I probably like as much or a little less, am worst at, and pays worse just because of the social life I wish I had.
I know that as older you get the harder it is t make deep friendships and I'm scared that I am doomed to be left alone forever if I don't make friends fast. But I don't know what to do about it, I do theatre and yoga and other hobbies and talk to people and they follow me on IG and we are friendly but I never get to know them enough to establish friendships.
I'm scared when I finish university I will just move to work with the same type of people I feel no connection to and never establish deep bonds again. Social life is SO important to me I don't know how to feel.

2023.03.27 05:22 do_add_unicorn Drive Away jobs - any prospects?

I used to do occasional side work for a company called Quality Drive Away. Basically, you'd pick up a vehicle from their depot, and drive it to a business that was purchasing it. Once delivered, you'd get paid and you were on your own to return or maybe pick up another trip. I used to pick up vehicles from Hutchinson when I was living in the Wichita area, but I haven't done any work for that company since I moved to Johnson County. I am interested in getting some extra checks now and then as well as traveling to the east coast, because my sister and nephew live out there. Is there a similar company that does business in the Kansas City metropolitan area? I'm not particularly interested in doing anything that would require a CDL (the vehicles I drive previous did not require one). Thanks for any help out there.

2023.03.27 05:11 derksimms why do people bow?

I know in theatre bowing is for the end of the show, but in Asia Being is a sign of respect. Is this related? Where did bowing come from? What does it mean in modern times?
