2023.03.27 04:28 IanCRBCannon Rooster (Chapter 3)

A New Friend
Though the sting of sweat in Titus’ eyes aided in the malignant feeling of exhaustion, the wind would occasionally coat his face with subtle relief. The junkyard was loudly quiet. The only sounds to break the tension of nothingness are the sounds of howling wind and occasional scream courtesy of the mentally ill or victimized inmates. When no companion is present, and when no settlement is in sight, the silence leaves room for nothing but thoughts to swim around in one’s mind. In the case of Titus, the thoughts inhabiting his mind are the words of Sloan, “Walk till there’s no more fence.” With this thought in mind, Titus would turn around every few minutes to see what he could see. While not plain as day, Titus could still see a rough image of a fence. Despite attempting to count his steps to figure out how long he had been walking, he lost count around step four hundred. Titus stopped walking, worried he would faint. As he sat on the ground, another thought entered his mind. These mountains of trash and old artifacts seem to have been pushed in a certain way to allow the forming of simple roads. As he examined these roads, Titus noticed a sign in the shape of an arrow that read “Preachers Town”.
After resting for only a minute, Titus lifted himself off the ground and followed the arrow.
After walking 200 steps Titus arrived at what looked like a town. The town boasted three buildings, constructed of plywood, and patched up with cardboard. The only other visual that stood out was the burned-down shack. Titus noticed the building Nearest him had a sign on the front door that read “McTell’s”. Titus walked in and was greeted with stares from the three people that sat in there. The room looked like a bar from the mid-180s but was mostly made from strong cardboard and plywood building. The ceiling had a consistent shower of leakage, with buckets placed throughout the floor to contain the water droplets. “What brings you in, stranger,” said an African American man, wiping a glass cup with a cloth behind the counter. Titus began to ask, “Are you M. C. T. E-”, The man interrupted, “McTell?” Titus then shrugged. “Is that the guy’s name on the sign?” said Titus. “I can see they didn’t just throw you in here because we share the same skin color. No, I’m not McTell.” The tilt of the head and the bend of the eyebrow from Titus indicated he was confused. “Throw me in here for sharing your skin color?” Titus asked. The man walked over to Titus and gestured at the nearest seat. “Take a seat friend.” The man and Titus sat at a table together. “I assume you were greeted at the front gate by someone, correct?” asked the man. “Yes” answered Titus. “Did he tell you why you were there?” he asked. Titus paused for a moment to collect his thoughts on the man at the gate. “I think something about intellect and not looking like I’m supposed to,” said Titus. “It seems that you don’t understand what’s going on, or you haven’t stopped to think about it.” After saying those words, the man gestured at a Caucasian person sitting at the bar to come to sit with them. “This, right here, is my friend Jason. If you notice, his skin is a little lighter than mine, and people would call him white. My skin happens to be a little bit darker, and most people would call me black. This is called a race. All through history people like me have been mistreated because of their skin tone, or race, that they have. It just so happens that you also have that darker skin color and the government decided one day we shouldn’t be allowed to live the lives that white people lived. Instead, what they did is they took people that look like us, along with people called gay, mentally challenged, disturbed, and criminal, and they restricted us to this big junkyard. But this isn’t just any junkyard. Before humans were cast out here, the government used this place to dispose of any historical or art-related items. Statues, pianos, paintings, and many more things were thrown in this place, so the masses could stay uninspired and loyal to the government.” After hearing all of this, Titus looked down at his hands and arms, viewing himself as if he had just noticed his physical body for the first time. A mixture of confusion and resentment built up on his face as he clenched his fist. He took a deep breath and said, “Thank you for telling me, whoever you are.” The man spoke with a smile “My name is Son.” Titus then asked, “If you’re not McTell, then where is he?” Son laughed and said, “Luckily, he’s dead. That evil bastard had it comin’. He made fun of a guy for thinking their broom was their wife. McTell called the poor guy’s ‘wife’ ugly and so the man strangled him.”
Just after their conversation came to a close and they both sat in the silence of the moment, the sound of the main bar door could be heard swinging open with rage. “I’m looking for McTell.” Spoke a hoarse, deep voice. Titus darted his head toward the door, along with everyone else. The man was a skyscraper amongst the rest of them. Dressed in steel-toe boots, bootcut denim jeans, and a straw hat, the man surveyed the room looking for McTell. “You’re about five months too late,” Son said, with confidence in his voice. “Well, dammit, someone is paying for my brother’s death. Billy and I were thrown in here together and we were gonna stay together, but your boss roped him into this criminal behavior. McTell’s crimes were gonna catch up to him one of these days, but I regret that it wasn’t me that finally got the jump on the guy.” The man lowered his hand down and grasped at a gun that was at his hip. The man spoke, saying “But as I said, someone is paying.” Almost simultaneously, The man drew his gun on Son and Titus stood up, putting himself between the gun and Son. “Shouldn’t we stick together?” Asked Titus. The man, still with the gun pointed at Titus, tilted his head in confusion. “We all were thrown in here together. If we want to make something of this place, we need to work together.” Said Titus, with sweat waterfalling down his face. The man took a deep breath and said “Maybe in another life, but he was my brother, and a murder is still a murder.” A shot rang out and, to the shock of Titus, the man fell to the floor. Titus swung his head to Son and saw a smoking revolver in his hand.
After Son and a few patrons cleaned up the damage and the body from the short gunfight, Son approached Titus. “I’m not the most humble guy you’ll meet, but even I can see that the whole confrontation would not have gone my way without you stepping up and distracting him, and giving me enough time to take my chance.” As Son said these words Titus began to form a response, but Son interjected and said “You know I’d like to repay you. A lot of people in this wasteland like to keep moving and not stay tied down too long in one place. They figure it’s better to keep to yourself and it’s hard to keep to yourself when you live in one spot where people know who you are. But, maybe if you want to stay a night, there’s a room right by the back door. It’s got a bed and some clothes if you need them. She’s all yours if you want it.” Titus mustered up a shy, half-smile and a nod. Son walked him to the room. The room, like the rest of the saloon, was dirty, old, and leaky, but it was comforting to the man that couldn’t recall the last time he had seen a bed.
It was the dead of night when Titus was awakened violently, not by a person, but by a sound that was unfamiliar to the frightened sleeper. Unknown to Titus, he was hearing music. Though unaware of this term, Titus began feeling warmth in his without knowledge that this sensation was a response to the music his ears were taking in. All at once, sight, smell, and taste became wholly irrelevant compared to the sensation of hearing that overtook Titus’ emotions. He began following the sounds, which lead him out the back door. What he saw baffled but intrigued him, a bright orange guitar leaning against the wall and a black, circular object, spinning on a machine that kept emitting music. The words stood out to the, now calm, Titus. The music would repeat the word “Rooster” and as Titus heard the word he looked over at the guitar and approached it. He sat on the ground with the guitar in his lap and a smile grew across his face. He seemed to enjoy the way the guitar fit in his hands, though he didn’t know what to do with it. As he sat by the music player he surveyed the guitar, and with a passionate smile he said, “Rooster”.

2023.03.27 04:09 Hungry-Accountant158 Savannah Apartment Help: Where to begin ;0

Hello! I know this question probably gets asked a lot. I am moving to savannah and looking for a studio or one bedroom apartment. My budget is around $1,200 dollars not including utilities. I do not need a large amount of space and I have a vehicle. I mainly need a place that’s safe and has reliable internet where I can work, I work remotely and plan on trying to start a business in the area. I’ve noticed most apartments within the city are out of my price range or have bad management. Would anyone know any surrounding towns or cities about 30-45 min outside of Savannah or apartments within the city that would fit in my price range. I’m also open to smaller places that aren’t listed on big sites. Any advice would be helpful, Thank you!!

2023.03.27 03:55 Parsley-Hefty7945 I need/want a gym partner

I have a membership to the Planet Fitness on Glenway Ave in West Price Hill and I’ve only gone 3 times since I got it like 3 weeks ago. It’s mainly cause I have no one to help me keep myself accountable and also cause I miss working out w other people! I am 26F looking for a female gym partner who would be willing to go Monday/Thursdays w me and sometimes Fridays (I have stuff going on the other nights) in the evenings (like sometime between 6-10pm). Someone who will run and do minor weightlifting with me.
I understand this can be sketchy so I’m totally up for meeting at the gym or somewhere else in the public to verify!

2023.03.27 03:40 Ronald_McGonagall Solo Sundays: Caverna: Cave Vs Cave

Welcome back to my solo reviews, this time for what is perhaps an unusual pick, Caverna: Cave vs Cave. I have a handful of Rosenberg games and had held off on Caverna proper due to it appearing to be too similar to many of the games I already own, but I wanted to make sure my collection represented any missing cave mechanics from that game. From what I’ve heard, this game doesn’t really do that, but it definitely stands out as a unique game, and for that I think it deserves a bit of the spotlight. If you’ve passed over this game because it’s a silly 2P edition of an already beloved game, maybe this will offer something extra for you to consider.

Caverna: Cave vs Cave

Overview

In this game, you’re a dwarf who is part of a small dwarven tribe, and it’s your job to carve into the mountainside and furnish a luxury dwarven apartment that outshines a nearby rival tribe. I hadn’t considered how unusual this was until I wrote this, but this is basically a dwarven equivalent of those reality home decorating shows.

Theme and Aesthetics

The theme here is really nice and ties in quite well. As far as I can tell, all your actions and the various items have good thematic integration insofar as you can sort of understand the flow of actions based on real-world logic. In connection with the overview of the game, you need to first excavate your mountainside, thereby creating space, and you must then furnish the empty space. The limitations on excavating are simply that you need to have a direct route to the area you’re excavating from the entrance, which makes real-world sense. The number of actions you can take corresponds to the number of working dwarves in your tribe. You get it. This kind of thematic integration is something I value highly because it eases the learning and playing of the game – you don’t need to constantly refer to the rulebook if the rules follow a logic that you can guess or intuit based on your existing understanding of the world. This will be a recurring topic in my reviews, but generally speaking I find that Uwe Rosenberg tends to do this quite well.
Overall, I find the theme of dwarven apartment furnishing to be one of Rosenberg’s weaker ones, but the artwork does a very good job of giving it that classic Rosenberg charm and it’s certainly a lot better than if the artwork were reminiscent, for example, of Lord of the Rings. It’s not the coziest theme, but it integrates well and Rosenberg does a great job of keeping that connection through all the game’s actions.
The visuals are by Klemens Franz, who Rosenberg seems to have some sort of professional affiliation with, if not outright friendship (online bios of Franz are surprisingly limited) – most of his bigger games are made in collaboration with Franz, and this artstyle has become an icon of eurogame design by basically being the face of some of the most popular euros, courtesy of Rosenberg. That said, Franz’s artwork has been somewhat controversial at times because, to be frank, it’s really not the greatest. It has a very storybook quality, and I think in the modern age people tend to expect a bit more out of their artists. I am, however, personally of an opposing mind, and I think that Franz’s artwork, while somewhat basic and (at times) crude, is an integral part of the feeling invoked by Rosenberg’s games. I would describe this feeling as a sort of pleasant, warm, accepting coziness, or more succinctly as Franz or Rosenberg might put it themselves, gemütlich. If you’re familiar with Klemens Franz’s work, then for better or worse, you know what to expect. If you’re new to this artwork, then try to reserve judgement because some truly great games hide beneath that veil.

Components

This is mostly positive, and anyone who’s ever played literally any Rosenberg game should know exactly what to expect. All the locations and playerboards etc are cardboard, but not that thick chunky cardboard that lines more luxurious games like those by Lacerda – in spite of this, I think the quality of this cardboard is perfectly fine, and in fact really like the hard, sturdiness of the tiles.
The resource track has a bunch of different resources depending on whether you play the long or short game, but their quality is strangely mixed. The grain, flax, stone and wood in era I are all the exact same wooden bits you’re used to seeing in every Rosenberg game, and in era II you add wooden donkeys and iron bricks which, for whatever reason, are represented by long, slender blue rods. A peculiar choice, but an inoffensive one.
The component quality takes a bit of a hit when we get to the food and gold in era I and the weapons and coal in era II: these are all represented by little tiny cardboard pieces. Generally I’m not a fan of tiny cardboard bits for anything, but it’s particularly jarring when half the resources are wood and the other half are cardboard. While there’s some functional reason for the weapons and gold being cardboard (which I’ll get to later), there’s no such reason for the food or coal. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s one you’ll have to regularly face as you manipulate your resources.
The player boards representing caves have very rough and jagged edges for both the era I and II versions. Aesthetically I thought it was kind of a cute little touch, but then you learn that they actually fit together like a puzzle in order to combine them and it felt quite satisfying. They could have had flat edges, or been jagged and not fit together, but the jagged + fitting together was a cheeky little detail that I really appreciated.
While this next part technically ties more into the gameplay, I’ll mention it here because it’s necessary to understand what I’m about to mention: the reason gold and weapons can reasonably be relegated to cardboard bits is because the backside has “+10” on it to indicate that the actual value of that resource is 10 higher than where it’s at on the tracker, because all other resources cap out at 9. The reason I’m mentioning this here is because I’ve actually upgraded my components: I recently was putting an order into Meeplesource and figured I’d throw an extra dollar or two at getting the 4-6 pieces I needed to make this feel more complete. I upgraded the visually busy weapons tokens to wooden ‘stone axe’ bits and the ‘empty plate with a single utensil’ cardboard pieces that Rosenberg likes to use to represent food (which I actually hate) to wooden ‘ham leg’ bits. Aesthetically they match and I’m much happier with these, and then I used a couple spare black cubes from Brass Birmingham for coal and a couple spare gold cubes from Terraforming Mars for the gold (why did I have spares from these games? Stay tuned to find out!). My solution with the gold and weapons, however, was to simply use two for every tracker board, and your value is just the sum of the two. I thought this was a clever solution, and it was one I came up with by copying it exactly from another Rosenberg game, Fields of Arle. I thought it was an odd choice to not have done it this way when it was already an established mechanic he’d created, but at almost no extra cost I was able to elevate my copy of Cavera: Cave vs Cave to a consistent level of comfortable quality.

Gameplay

The way this game works is that you have a long action selection board which is slightly more limited in the solo variant, achieved by flipping the action board to its other side. 4 basic actions are laid out on the board, followed by several more face down tiles with increasingly powerful actions: each turn you flip the next action tile, expanding your decision space, and you can take 2/3/4 actions depending on the point you’re at in the game. Due to the level 2 and 3 actions being shuffled (there’s only one level 4 action), the game has some variability to its flow.
The actions you can take boil down to 3 main types, in varying combinations and degrees of effectiveness: excavate space in your mountainside (which reveals furnishments for your apartment), furnish a space (by selecting an available room) or activate the powers of your furnished rooms (which generally yield resources). There’s a small, yet clever, mechanic where a few actions allow you to place free-standing walls in your cave, and each room you place requires (in addition to resource costs) a specific arrangement of surrounding walls. It may seem like a small enough matter that it’s not worth being discussed in a review, but on the contrary I would say it’s actually a crucial and even defining aspect of the game. It’s a tiny detail but it absolutely makes the game, in my opinion.
At the end of era I, you score your game, and then decide whether you’d like to continue. In era II, the era II resources/rooms are added into the game, you add the era II cave to your player board (thereby expanding your cave space) and extend the action board with 4 more randomized level 4 actions. You then continue with exactly what you were doing, but now with more resources, more space and more powerful actions. The split is excellent and you could easily play just era I or era I + II with anyone, not tell them what you did, and have them believe that they played a proper and full game – era I doesn’t feel truncated or short, while era I + II doesn’t outstay its welcome or feel long or bloated. I think this aspect was really well done and particularly like that you make the decision at a point where you could equally choose to call it quits, so you don’t feel like you’ve overcommitted, such as in other games if you choose the long version and it lasts longer than you expected. It’s nice to get to the end of the brief and tight era I and say “do I want this experience to end here, or do I want more of it?”
I find that the balance between furnishing the cave and activating rooms to gain resources (which you need for more rooms) has a nice ebb and flow, and I like the choices that need to be made when it comes to expensive, high VP but fairly useless rooms, or the cheaper, low VP, functional rooms. I’ve been able to beat the recommended era I score with a bit of challenge, but have thus far fallen short of the era II score; I do still believe it’s more than achievable, and once again I feel that Uwe Rosenberg has done a very good job of conveying accurate score bands in the manual.
While this game is a very fun optimization puzzle that offers a similar decision space to, e.g., Agricola while staying a lot more compact, it should be noted that the solo mode is a BYOS type of game and does not replicate the 2P experience. In 2P (the only other player count for the game), there’s a very strong tension due to the other player taking actions you needed, and this is wholly missing from the solo mode. Furthermore, in order to mitigate some of the brutality of the 2P game, multiple tiles do similar actions but have an obvious ‘good’ and ‘not so good’ version: in 2P, if your opponent beats you to the good one, you have a consolation. In solo, however, the ‘bad’ version simply never gets used, and it felt like it might have been a little nicer if there were 3 or 4 extra solo tiles to replace these kinds of actions from the 2P game.
A brief note on the versions of the game for the crafty consumer: the game originally came out simply as the era I version, with a later “era II” expansion. Both of these are sold in the small boxes that typically house 2P games such as Patchwork, Mandala or Sobek 2P. I have the sneaking suspicion that if you purchased the game like this, you’d be able to fit all the contents into a single box, and save a lot of space. However if you’d rather save ~10$ you can get the Big Box version, which is what I have, and which contains all the content from era I + II. There’s not an enormous amount of space in the box to the point where I really want a smaller box, but the Big Box version had some of the player boards reworked so they didn’t have to fold, and consequently would not fit in a smaller box. That being said, the Big Box version is the same size as the base Carcassonne box, so still on the smaller side.

Conclusion

All in all, I’ve found that Caverna: Cave vs Cave offers a unique gameplay experience not present in Rosenberg’s other games, and I really haven’t seen it discussed much. I think that it deserves to stand alongside his other games, but I also think that its smaller stature (and price tag) is deserved too, owing to the lighter content and limited player count. Since this does fall on the less expensive side, I would indeed recommend it for a purchase exclusively for solo, predicated on the understanding that this is an BYOS optimization puzzle, and not an emulated multiplayer experience. Additionally, I would recommend going for the Big Box version since it’s only about 10$ more than the base (era I) version and you basically double the content.
I hope you found this informative and enjoyed reading through this, and I hope I was able to open your eyes to some of Rosenberg’s 2P spin-offs as worthy additions to a collection. Thanks for reading!

OpenNMS Paper on Natural Monetary Systems for Humanistic Monetarism

Humanistic monetarism is a currency theory and policy centered on human needs and interests. It criticizes the excessive emphasis and abuse of currency by neoliberalism and monetarism, and advocates the establishment of a natural currency that conforms to the laws of human social development. system. The natural currency system refers to a currency system that is not manipulated by the government and the central bank, does not depend on metals or other scarce resources, but is produced and circulated according to the actual needs of social and economic activities. This article will explain the theoretical basis, realization methods and advantages of the natural currency system of humanistic monetarism from the following three aspects.

First, the theoretical basis of the natural currency system of humanistic monetarism. Humanistic monetarism believes that currency is a social convention, and it is a symbol created by people to facilitate exchange. It has no fixed value, but changes with changes in social and economic activities. Therefore, currency should not be regarded as a scarce commodity, but as a service whose role is to facilitate exchange and distribution and meet people's diverse needs. Humanistic monetarism opposes linking currency to metals or other substances, arguing that this practice will limit the supply and circulation of currency, causing economic depression and social injustice. Humanistic monetarism also opposes the monopoly and manipulation of currencies by the government and the central bank, believing that such practices will lead to inflation or deflation, distort price signals and resource allocation, and damage the welfare of the people. Humanistic monetarism advocates the establishment of a natural currency system, that is, a currency system that is issued and used by market participants according to actual needs. This system is not controlled by any central authority and does not depend on any material basis. Is entirely based on credit and trust.

Second, the way to realize the natural currency system of humanistic monetarism. Humanistic monetarism believes that in order to realize the natural currency system, it is necessary to establish a decentralized, open, transparent and democratic currency creation and circulation mechanism with the help of modern information technology and network platforms. Specifically, there are the following aspects:

(1) Issue diversified reciprocal currencies. Reciprocal currency refers to a non-legal currency issued and accepted by individuals or organizations based on the goods or services they provide or need. It can circulate in a specific community or network, or it can be combined with other types of reciprocal currency or Fiat currency exchange. Reciprocal currency can effectively solve social problems such as credit crunch, unemployment, and poverty, and promote the diversification and sustainability of social and economic activities.

(2) Establish an encrypted digital currency based on blockchain technology. Encrypted digital currency refers to a method that uses the principles of cryptography and blockchain

2023.03.27 03:30 Alpi5 Buying a Used LG C1 55 Inch, is 900 $ a good price ? (No burn in)

I saw an offer, and asked the Seller if I could check it in person. He was very friendly, and let me check the TV Hours used, as well as various color patterns and check for dead pixels. THe TV seems to be in mind condition, as far as I could tell from my own testing in person. The Price is at 900 $, used hours are 3000 Hours, and the TV was bought 1 year ago. He told me he mainly used it to surf on the net/Watch Movies and YouTube, with mostly low brightness. His bought price then was 1300 $ Brand new.
The TV had no burn in, I tested in various color patterns, in Red, Blue, Green, White, Violet, Orange etc. It displayed no dead pixels, and no dimming or anything of that sort, it had its brightness as its supposed to have. I also opened a greyscale test, and it was all fine, no banding, no vertical lines. Is this a good price, or should I try to fetch it down to 850/800 $ ?
Also, the seller does not have the Original Package, so I gotta take care of that, but he said he will help me with the loading/Packing.

Up for sale are several super rare Victorinox Alox Woodsman models. They only have main blade and the legendary wood saw. These are super uncommon factory made models and not special editions. They were only available to a few select dealers; and most of Europe and all dealers in United States could not get them. I was able to acquire several and happy to share my extras.
These are the thinnest two layer 93mm Alox model ever made. All are brand new in the box. Some have factory stickers on scales, some do not. Model is 0.8040.20.
Only ever seen one or two ever for sale [and actually obtainable], and they sold for $175+. Will obviously only appreciate as well; as a user or as part of a collection.
Price: $150.00 each including Shipping in the US. Can take Paypal, Venmo, Or Zelle. Can ship right away and discounts for multiple knives.

Victorinox SWISSTOOL BS [Condition A]
CLICK HERE for Timestamp and Photos
A close friend was getting married and needed gifts for his groomsmen. He knew I was "into" knives and multitools and asked me to help him acquire these. Unfortunately, the wedding got moved due to Covid and he didn't end up needing them. I had 5, but only 4 are left because I kept one for myself.
These are simply the best heavy duty Multitool ever made (in my opinion.) Better than the other one hand opening versions because the tabs they used messed with the great ergonomics of the handles and those models do not have the amazing Victorinox saw. These also have the cap crimper in the plier heads. This specific version has been used by many militaries and special forces around the world.
These are black burnished steel and the build quality is exceptional. They are model 3.0323.3CN.
Also included (if the buyer would like) are awesome, rare, and discontinued Victorinox Olive Military Pouch that can be used on Molle systems or just on a belt. They fit the tool perfectly and are factory model 4.0837.4.
These are all factory brand new in the box. These are $230.00 new plus tax and the sheaths (when they were available) were quite a few bucks more.
Simply the best Multitool you can buy...guaranteed for life...and always a joy to use!
Price: $200 each including Shipping in the US. Can take Paypal, Venmo, Or Zelle. Can ship right away and discounts for multiples. They will come with the original Nylon Sheath and the extra Olive Pouch if the buyer would like.
Please let me know any questions!

2023.03.27 03:11 LiquidLispyLizard The MCU and the SSU: How I think it all ties together within the next ten years.

After the new rumor from Cosmic Circus of Kingpin, Mr. Negative, Kraven, and Scorpion appearing in Spider-Man 4 came out, I think I finally get what Sony's doing with their long term plan. I realize this isn't generally popular among MCU or SSU fans since most I come across on both sides seem to want to keep the two completely separate, and this whole write-up may very well not be what they're planning at all because it's basically all rumors at this point, but just from the latest developments we've heard, both through rumors and official sources, this is what I can personally piece together. Keep in mind, I may word some or all of this in a definitive sense, but I don't know what Sony's actually doing and this is only my theory. Be aware: this will probably be a very long read.

* Kraven the Hunter (October 6, 2023) - More or less, outside of a few references to Venom and Morbius here and there, Kraven's probably gonna be a standalone movie, much like its SSU predecessors. The real tie-in comes in the post-credits scene, following up on Morbius (2022), where Morbius and/or Vulture come to recruit Kraven to their team, who have followed his actions during the movie off-screen, either through the news or otherwise, promising "the hunt of a lifetime" in reference to the MCU's Spider-Man (I think Vulture makes more sense here just because of his actual connection to MCU Spidey, but if they can't get Keaton back, I imagine they'd just get Leto to fill in. That version may not flow as well as the Vulture one, but we did all see the Morbius post-credits scenes, lol.)

* Madame Web (February 16, 2024) - Madame Web, I think is the first SSU-set film that could really set things up outside of just post-credits scenes due to the nature of the character and how she relates to the Multiverse. If rumors are to be believed and this movie introduces Ezekiel and the Spider-Totems (I apologize ahead of time because the Totems are something I've never really been familiar with in Spider-Man lore, so I may be uninformed during parts of this), I believe this movie is critical in setting up the overall endgame for Sony's plans, but more on that later. It's also rumored to feature Mary Parker carrying an unborn Peter Parker in a 2000's setting and this plot-point may be further expanded on by Venom 3 (explained after this). By the end of the movie (again in the post-credits scene probably, lol), either Webb will be confronted by Vulture and his team of Morbius and Kraven or the other way around, but somehow, someway, she is the vehicle that transports those three to the MCU, either via Vulture being the only one to go back and Morbius and Kraven accidentally being brought along somehow or Webb being threatened by the three and her being forced to transport them.

* Venom 3 (2024) - I don't expect this one to have any kind of huge ties to anything else to come after it, but I do think it can follow up on Madame Web pretty well. There was a rumor a while back (can't remember where, sorry) that mentioned how Venom 3 would see Eddie and Venom transported back to the SSU from the MCU and now on some kind of mission to hunt down his universe's version of Spider-Man. When he finds him, he learns he's basically just a kid grown up after being born in the 2000's in Madame Web (If Venom 3 takes place when it actually releases, that'll place it in 2024. If SSU's Peter Parker is born in the late 2000's, maybe early 2010's, let's say, that could place him at around 14/15.). With all that, Eddie has to end up protecting him from Toxin, they fight, he beats him, roll credits. Even if the actual film's story is completely different from this and doesn't even feature child Peter, I don't expect it to change the rest of what I'm theorizing, if anything, at all, because I don't think this version of Venom will factor into things again until much later down the road, especially Hardy decides to truly call it quits after this one.

* MCU Spider-Man 4 (July/December 2025) - This is where som things I mentioned before are finally paid off. As we all heard that CC rumor I mentioned in the beginning, I think at this point, Spider-Man 4 follows up on whatever happens in Daredevil: Born Again and sees Kingpin assemble and fund a team consisting of Scorpion (who I theorize has already been in contact with Fisk for a while now), Mr. Negative (who is one of Scorpion's "boys on the outside" mentioned in Homecoming), and a revamped Shocker. It's at this point that Vulture had already returned to the MCU with Morbius and Kraven, he's met up with Scorpion again, and basically merges their two teams together, forming the Sinister Six. I don't think the Multiverse will play a large role in this movie, despite Morbius and Kraven both hailing from another universe. For the most part, this could quite literally be played off as those two just being associated with Vulture from the last time we've seen him. Basically, that's the crux of the crossover and the film is mainly Sinister Six-focused. I also expect MCU Miles Morales to be introduced in order to establish his relationship with Peter and for himself to become a Spider-Man later on in this overall saga. In a post-credits scene, Peter ends up bonding with the remaining Venom symbiote left behind at the end of No Way Home. In another scene, I could see Madame Web showing up to take Morbius and Kraven back to the SSU.

* Various other SSU projects and spinoffs (2025-?) - It's at this point, I think that Sony's gonna just go for it in terms of releasing SSU projects. Maybe they get one or two out before MCU Spider-Man 4, depending on the July or December release, but for the most part, I see them going forward with movies like El Muerto, Hypno-Hustler, maybe that Sydney Sweeney Spider-Woman movie, Jessica Drew, so on and so forth, as well as their shows like Silk, Spider-Man Noir, and probably a few more that will focus on other Spider-People after the release of Spider-Man 4. I imagine these will be sprinkled in throughout the years in between the upcoming Spider-Man and Avengers movies. If they're successful, they'll receive sequels and more seasons and potential spinoffs, if they're not, they'll go the way of Morbius and be one-offs. Regardless, as long as they have at least one appearance beforehand, I see all of these characters as being important in that I think all of them will factor into MCU Spider-Man 6's big finale crossover that I'll explain at the end.

* Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars (2026 and/or later) - MCU Spider-Man, now wearing the black suit, will probably feature heavily in at least one of these films, but I don't expect them to factor into what Sony's doing since this is mainly the MCU's big projects. I also don't expect The Kang Dynasty to keep its current May 2, 2025 date, so that'll move it past MCU Spider-Man 4. Tobey and Andrew, I could see both appearing in Secret Wars and doing their thing, but I don't see them factoring into Sony's plans too much until the very end, that is, if they both make it out of TKD and SW alive, but I suspect they will due to what I think Sony's building towards.

* MCU Spider-Man 5 (after Secret Wars) - I see this film as being the one where, after Spidey has wrestled with the symbiote on and off during the Avengers movies, he's realized it's become a problem and he needs to get rid of it somehow. Long story short, he does, and it bonds to Mac Gargan, who was beaten at the end of Spider-Man 4. Since this symbiote is technically a spawn of the SSU's Venom, much like how Carnage was, I envision this version of Venom being inherently evil and much more of a monster than the one we've seen bonded to Eddie, which fits well with Mac Gargan's revenge arc he goes through in the movie. But because Spidey is who he is, he beats Gargan's Venom, the symbiote's either contained or gone at that moment, everybody lives happily ever after, you get the point. Miles Morales also returns in this and at some point discovers that Peter is Spider-Man. The post credits scene involves Miles Morales being bitten by a spider and realizing what that entails.

* MCU Spider-Man 6 - Well, this is it, this is what the past however many years have been building to and the ultimate endgame of Sony's plans to this point and it's far simpler to explain than most other projects on this list. Someone like Morlun or Knull or any large, potentially Multiverse-ending character is the main villain in this, probably having something to do with the Spider-Totems established in Madame Web (again, I know nothing about these, lol). This means that literally everything Spider-Man ever factors into this movie. MCU Spider-Man's the lead, of course, and he's been working with Miles Morales and helping him become Spider-Man alongside him since the last film and, at this point, Madame Web is the one to kind of bring everyone together to save the Multiverse: MCU Peter and Miles, Tobey, Andrew, Hardy's Venom with a grown up version of his Spider-Man (depending on if Venom 3 goes that way), every other SSU lead we've seen up to this point, possibly the animated Spider-Verse stuff, maybe certain Spidey villains left over in the MCU, Tobey's, and Andrew's universes, as well. Basically, this is just a colossal crossover and a love-letter to every corner of Spider-Man's multiverse over what would possibly be 3 decades at this point. There's a big sacrifice at the end from Holland's Spidey (and maybe Tobey and Andrew as well, though Holland's I feel would be the most important one), the main villain's defeated, and the Multiverse is set right once again. Following this, MCU Miles Morales fully embraces his title as Spider-Man and swings off into the sunset, becoming the main MCU Spider-Man who leads his own films going forward.

Okay, so I know that was a long read (I did warn you, lol) and I realize that some or maybe all of this is wrong, but that's the fun of theorizing, so I hope nobody takes this incredibly serious, it's just one possible route Sony's taking with their future plans. I hope you did enjoy reading it, though, it took me like an hour to write all this out and longer than that to think it up, but this was fun, so thank you for taking time out of your day to swing by and check this out!

2023.03.27 03:10 LiquidLispyLizard The MCU and the SSU: How I think it all ties together within the next ten years.

2023.03.27 03:04 toto240 Can anyone help me with a Dell optiplex 7050?

I would like to know if anybody knows how to modify it just so I can get my GTX 1080 founders edition inside I understand that power supply isn't powerful enough but I have a workaround I just want to know if anyone knows a way just to get it to fit in. I have to buy a new computer and I would like to use my old graphics card and I just want to know if anyone has found a way to modify it before I buy it so that I don't have to guess and do it myself. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money that's why I'm having to get this PC cuz it's the best PC I can find but unfortunately my price range only allows for tight form factors so I thought I would just get the one with the best CPU in it and that happens to be the 7050. So if anybody knows a way I don't care if I have to leave the side panel off I'm not expecting it to look pretty I just wanted to work so please let me know if anybody knows away.

2023.03.27 03:02 weslehh 2023 Madza3 2.5S Select vs 2021 Mazda6 Grand Touring

Some background: late 20s single male, work remotely (hopefully permanent, otherwise my commute will be around 190 miles per week, tops), don't drive a ton besides occasionally going out. I plan on keeping this next vehicle for a long time. I'm not a huge car person and have been fine driving my Sonata, so I really don't need a lot to be content. Realistically, I could just find a used 2016 or something and save more money, but figure I might as well go for something newer.
I'm currently driving an 09 Sonata and feel like it's the time to get a new car. I've been driving the Sonata for about 9 years now, with no real issues besides two car door window motors breaking in the past few months and a transmission that appears to be getting worse.
I think I've decided on getting a Mazda3 2.5S Select sedan since it's hitting most of the boxes I'd want in a new car (looks, mileage, features for a pretty good price). Mainly went for the 2.5S Select since it offers the blind spot monitoring, whereas the base model does not. It doesn't look like any of the dealerships around me have any in stock, so I'll probably end up having to order one. From what I have seen, the prices are at or around MSRP ($25k~ USD). I really love the Deep Crystal Blue Mica color, so that's primarily what I've been eyeing.
I was planning on going to a dealership tomorrow to do a test drive and potentially putting an order in, but I ended up finding a 2021 Mazda6 Grand Touring for just under $27k. Is this a decent price? I think the 3 fits my "needs" more, but for around the same price, this 6 has some nice extras and low mileage at 17.8k miles. I don't necessarily need what's offered in the Model6 as I'm more than happy with the 2023 Model3's offerings, but I'll definitely take em if it's a good price (and it's already on the lot with the blue color I want).

Obviously need to test drive them to get a better feel, but assuming I feel the same about them, is there an easy pick between these two options?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2023.03.27 02:58 Mebutreal Ladies, why do you post pics looking all beautiful and hot?

So my wife and I, we both have been following a fit regime for the past few years. We both are looking pretty good now. But little by little, she has been posting more and more pics of herself into her social media. Of course, some lurkers have come around, as expected. I don’t mind, I have no reason to suspect an affair.
But my question to you is, why do women have the need to post those pics? I mean, I don’t.
My theory, or not so much a theory, is that it is because of the validation that you get. I get it, it’s not an attack, and that’s ok. It’s similar to a guy showing off fancy stuff.
But my theory, and my real question is, is it always thinking about getting a reaction of specifically one person? Maybe a guy you like, or a woman you know, or whatever. Or maybe it is totally about something else that I don’t get.
Can you please help me understand?
Thank you
