2023.03.27 05:09 M00PSHAT Apollo Phantom V2 screen replacement
I tried folding my Phantom but as soon as the hinge was off the screen slammed against the foot rest where the metal part was sticking out. It made the screen cracked half way. I tried looking for replacement parts in Canada but didn't have any but only in Europe which I don't want to pay extra. Is there any replacement I could find and buy without paying import? Main website or manufacturers don't give out replacement parts. I do not live near any Apollo shops.

2023.03.27 05:09 Sharinganprincess91 [F4M] Fandom Roleplay. Looking for more partners. Need people who won't waste my time.
Side note: I've added a password, so read carefully. If you message me WITHOUT the password, your messages are automatically IGNORED. tired of getting hit up with people who don't read 😒. It's ridiculous cause I've ignored 5+ chats cause none of them contained the password. Things are written for a reason.
Facts about me:
- I have been roleplaying since 2012. Yes, I got experience under my belt, and yes, my ideas usually have really long reads, but don't let that scare you off! After the starter is off, I may lower myself down to a decent paragraph or two, sometimes three! It all depends on what I've got to work with.
- My timezone is EST. I'm awake from 9am - 2am and I'm usually free unless I'm busy doing house chores, out of the house, asleep, or playing video games on my switch. I'm usually become REALLY active at or around 8pm.
Rules:
1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).
6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.
End Note:
Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. I'm just trying to get my point across and roleplay. I'm a very easy going person who loves to make friends on the side (which I've somewhat given up on making friends...only a selective few have actually gained my friendship).
Do not hop into my inbox with a simple 'hey' 'hi' 'sup', etc and for God's sake, don't message me with a 'rp?'and proceed me to flash me with your talliwhacker. I promise you, you'll get your feelings hurt and I'll be here laughing at ya 😂. Nobody wants a peen on their screen. Do not send me an image of your one eyed noodle. Thank you. The password is pineapple.

2023.03.27 05:08 StepwiseUndrape574 Latest GTA 6 Rumors Allege Vice City Return But Its Release Date Is Another Question
It seems like we have been hearing rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 since the beginning of time, though in reality, it has only been almost that long. If you were hoping for some clarity with a release finally being around the bend, well, brace yourself—we could be in for several more years of rumors, not just weeks or even months.
Naturally, the folks at Rockstar Games are not offering up any juicy tidbits about the inevitable release. So everything we know, or think we know, has come by way of leaks and rumors. To that end, multiple leakers are reporting that GTA 6 might not come out until 2024 or even sometime 2025. As things stand right now, YouTuber Tom Henderson says the next version of GTA is very early in development.
Henderson notes that, historically, he has not been associated with GTA leaks (he's been more plugged into the Battlefield scene), but the information he shared in a YouTube video is based on what he has heard from multiple sources. He is not the only one that is hearing GTA 6 is still several years away from being released, either.
GTA 6 Tweet
Given the success of GTA Online, it seems Rockstar Games might not be in a rush to push out another major release. At the same time, it's said the developer is focusing "very heavily on employee well being," which in part means avoiding the crunch that precedes a game's release. However, there is at least one other factor at play as well.
It's said GTA 6 will launch on PC and the latest generation game consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). By taking its time in releasing GTA 6, Rockstar Games will have a much wider audience of compatible console owners to drum up sales. And while not mentioned, the same could be true in the PC space, as hopefully discrete GPUs will be plentiful again by the the time GTA 6 arrives.
As for the setting, Henderson says GTA 6 will in fact mark a return to Vice City. Rockstar Games may opt to add more locations to the map over time (post launch), but it looks like a modern take on Vice City is headed to the GTA universe.
Given how much we had playing Grand Theft Auto V when it came to PC several years ago (and still holds up today), we're excited to see what GTA 6 brings to the table, even if it means waiting another 3-4 years.

2023.03.27 05:06 SwolePonHiki About Cheng Xin
I just finished the series, and I've been thinking a lot about this character in particular.
Her first mistake, when she was elected as swordholder was somewhat understandable. She had her whole worldview shattered and froze up. But, if she was never prepared to pull the trigger, why did she decide to run? Surely, even if she believed in a peaceful future for humanity, she understood the importance of having somebody in that position just in case. If she knew she was completely incapable of following through, she shouldn't have put herself in that position. And even then, being frozen in shock is only so much of an excuse. I could see somebody freezing up for ten seconds, but ten whole minutes should be enough to realize that all of humanity is doomed if she does nothing. At least she could have tried giving an ultimatum, even as a bluff. But everyone makes mistakes.
The part that really made me hate her was when she told the soldiers of Halo to surrender their weapons. When I got to this point in the novel, I thought it was going to be the turning point in her character arc. (At this point, I still thought she would have an arc) The first time she messed up, it was for the same reason; she chose to do the thing that was morally comfortable rather than the thing that was rationally necessary. And the price of that mistake was payed, not by her, but by others. She got to see firsthand the suffering that her carelessness caused, and the fact that the suffering only ended when the signal was ultimately transmitted anyway. With that firsthand experience, and at least a basic understanding of how important Yun Tianming's message was, I thought she would realize that taking the easy path would just be a repeat of last time; that others would ultimately pay the price of her selfish actions. I was actually kind of excited to see it. It would be a really cool arc to see... And then she just decides to not have any character development and do the obviously wrong thing again. Realizing that she just refused to learn anything from her experiences was the most frustrating part of her character for me. She chose to doom humanity for her own moral comfort, and put in the same situation, chose to do it again.
I don't think this is a flaw of the book or anything. I actually think its very interesting how she starts the book off as a very sympathetic character because of how empathetic she is, and Thomas Wade, her opposite, starts off as one of the most hated characters. But, despite Cheng Xin having a gentle soul and a traditional sense of morality, and despite Thomas Wade being an obviously evil and sadistic psychopath, they sort of switch places over the course of the book. You slowly start to hate Cheng, and maybe even agree with Wade's attempted assassination of her. They don't change in the mind of the readers because they actually change as characters in any way, but purely because of the context surrounding them.
I also think Cheng Xin and Thomas Wade are stand-ins for the deontological and utilitarian ethical frameworks respectively. Cheng Xin always does the "right" thing, or rather, the morally comfortable thing that doesn't require her to get her hands dirty, regardless of the consequences for humanity. This fits very with with the deontological view that actions have a certain rightness or wrongness based on their nature and intention, and regardless of their ultimate consequences. Wade, on the other hand, represents the total opposite perspective; that actions are measured as good or bad based on which action will result in the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Everything is context dependent. A vile action with evil intent is ultimately good if it results in a net positive result somewhere down the road. I think this is why a lot of readers end up rooting for Wade, despite him being a horrible person, and why so many readers end up hating Cheng Xin. If a hardcore deontologist reads this book, they would probably have a very different experience with these characters than me.

2023.03.27 05:03 blackanese27 Power Query: What's this line of code trying to do?
Long story short, I've inherited a series of queries from a previous analyst who is no longer with the company. I'm having problems understanding what they did here and the answers ChatGPT are giving me don't work either. I've pasted the ChatGPT response below. It keeps suggesting I do things that aren't options to do in the Power Query tabs.
Code:
#"Column1' & 'Column2'" = Table.SelectRows(#"Removed Duplicates", each ([Column1] <> "Column1")) I'm also confused by this segment here: each ([Column1] <> "Column1")) <--- I don't understand this because "Column1" isn't an option that can be chosen from this column.
ChatGPT Response: No, you don't have to add a column to filter the rows based on multiple conditions. You can use the Table.SelectRows() function directly on the table you want to filter, and specify multiple conditions in the formula. The step "#Filtered 'Column1' & 'Column2'" is using the Table.SelectRows() function to filter the rows of the "Removed Duplicates" table based on a single condition: - The condition checks if the value in the "Property Code" column is not equal to the string "Property Code".
The formula inside the Table.SelectRows() function is: vbnetCopy code each ([Column1] <> "Column1")
This formula checks if the value of the "Column1" column for each row is not equal to the string "Column1". If the condition is true, the row is kept in the resulting table; otherwise, the row is removed. To add an additional condition, you can use the "and" operator to combine two or more conditions. For example, to filter based on both the "Column1" and "Column2" columns, you can use the following formula: cssCopy code each ([Column1] <> "Column1" and [Column2] <> "Filter Value")
Replace "Filter Value" with the actual value that you want to filter out from the "Column2" column. To perform this step in Power Query, you can follow these steps: - Select the table you want to filter (in this case, the "Removed Duplicates" table).
- Go to the "Home" tab and click "Keep Rows" -> "Keep Rows".
- In the "Keep Rows" dialog box, select "Advanced" and enter the formula in the "Custom" box.
- Click "OK" to apply the filter and keep only the matching rows.

2023.03.27 05:02 onemorestripe Getting fired was not a big deal.
Not sure if this fits within the parameters but I want to share my experience getting fired for the first time.
The CEO (he's the son of the founder) stripped the accounting department down to just me and a remote worker in India. He didn't speak English very well so we communicated in math. I became the default head of accounting and negotiated an 16% raise. I was proud of myself since I took zero accounting classes in college and exactly one math class. This is to say that I got to my position through pure immigrant work ethic.
However, we experienced a labor shortage which meant I had to take on more customer service duties to help out. It was my first mistake. Two of the reps we hired quit and I kept helping out. Eventually my work started to drop in quality as I was cutting corners to meet deadlines which included having enough funds in our bank account to cover salaries every pay week.
One of the corners I cut was the verification of bank account information. It was an internal request from the customer service manager to change the direct deposit account for a sales rep. The email requesting the change included his phone number in the signature. It was my second mistake. The phone number for verification has to be one we established before the change request. This was maybe explained to me once in passing by the CEO.
You can probably guess what the scam is by now. Someone hacked his email account and emailed the manager who then forwarded me the email. Because it was an internal request from a coworker that sat across the office from me, I made the decision to cut this corner so I could get back to the hundred other things I had to do.
When our sales rep called to ask why we hadn't paid him, my boss checked the call logs for the day and saw I had never called the number on file. He called me to the conference and fired me in front of two managers. Operations and the aforementioned customer service manager. Not sure why they were there.
I was pretty depressed and spend the next two weeks smoking weed, training Jiu-jitsu and running errands for my partner. My unemployment got denied because it was considered negligence on my part. The jobs that were calling me back never came close to what I was making. After two weeks, I bit the bullet and started a job at a Chinese pharmaceutical company. It was strictly receivables and whereas my coworkers had a full 8 hours of work, I could finish all my work in 3 hours or so. My paychecks were pathetic though and I was thinking about canceling my trip to Spain to see my dad. As a bonus, I had to deal with pharmaceutical reps who would sell a truckload of creatine to a high school wrestler. I could smell commission on their breaths when they talked.
Then I got a job offer that matched my previous salary, as a temp, at a environmental waste management company. I gave notice, trained my replacement and started my new job. So far, I love the new gig. Making sure factory workers breath clean air and removing asbestos from old buildings is much different than selling overpriced door knobs and vitamins. The office is full of people that love what they do. The COO gave me tickets to see the Impractical Jokers at the Prudential. My supervisor is already about a permanent position.
To those wondering how I explained getting fired, well, I lied to the pharmaceutical company and my new job only asked why I was leaving the pharmaceutical company. If you've been fired, I strongly recommend lying.
All in all, I'm already making the same amount I was making at my old job. Except now I enjoy going to work and I do not have to deal with a single sales rep or even customer. I come in, prepare my spreadsheets for the billing cycle, reconcile our accounts, hand the project managers the invoices and I leave by 5. And I leave with enough energy to cook dinner for my partner and maybe hit the mats.
So I guess if you made it through this whole story, my point is this: getting fired wasn't the end of the world for me. And it doesn't have to be for you. The owners of the means of production have lost so much leverage that even a first generation American with an useless degree has a chance. All because my nepo baby boss decided to teach me accounting basics and practice on live accounts for years because he didn't want to train a new person on our operating system. Then he fired me. He fired me right into the dream job I didn't even know I wanted.
Also, I improved my leg locks and escapes in jiu-jitsu. My coach gave me a second stripe on my white belt because of these improvements. This last bit is not relevant to the story. But, goddamn is jiu-jitsu hard. I guess if it were easy, it'd be yoga.
TL; DR: I got fired from my job and I ended up in a better job with work/life balance, a pay raise in the horizon and a clearly defined role in a company that actually does some good in this world.

I just finished watching Scream 6 in theaters! I can finally stop worrying about having to avoid spoilers lol. I must say, I loved the amount of plot twists and how unpredictable some parts were, although a lot of the survivals were a bit fake. It seems like Paramount is pushing to make the new Scream movies more violent and gruesome, which I like. This was by far the most violent of the series, but that just makes it look extremely unrealistic when they survive. I mean two Ghostface’s took turns unloading on Chad with stabs, and somehow he was still alive in the end, when every other death in every other Scream movie took like 1/4th of that? Overall I loved it, I think the biggest surprise was that there were 3 (and technically 5) killers. When the movie started and I saw Ghostface remove his mask from the very beginning, I got kind of upset, until I realized he was about to get packed up himself lol.

2023.03.27 04:59 TheCardaman [DREADGOD] Follow On Series to Cradle?
Apologies if this is common knowledge, new fan here. I recently realized that the reason it seems impossible to wrap up the story presented in Cradle with only one book remaining is because a big chunk of what I have considered a part of Cradle is really the story of the Abidan. This brings me to my main question: has it ever been suggested that there would be a follow on series to Cradle covering plotlines post-ascension?

2023.03.27 04:55 Consistent-View-3440 Pucks (Untainted "Ungors") Fan Lore
| Pan’s Labyrinth Faun by: Chris Stevens Long before the coming of Chaos and even before the Old Ones claimed ownership of the world, creatures of all shapes and sizes roamed the planet. One such species were the Fauns, a species of horned Goat-like creatures. As Fauns were noticeably weaker and smaller than the others races they needed to rely on stealth and speed, rather than strength. The Forests became the perfect home for these creatures as when shrouded by the shadows of leaves they can all but disappear, disappearing from a predator almost instantly and reappearing on the other side of the woods in a matter of seconds. With their mastery of the forest, they soon gained a deeper connection to it than any of the younger races. After millennia of using these methods, the Fauns made contact with possibly one the most ancient entities on the planet; the Oak of Ages. Once the Great tree sensed the Fauns it felt what can only be described as parental love, seeing them as lost children in need of guidance. The Oak of Ages granted the Fauns access to the Worldroots allowing them to travel across all the forests of the Known World. Faun culture expanded almost overnight, with instantaneous travel across Mallus being possible. But the forests could not protect them forever. The Old Ones came on their silver ships and began to shape the world to their liking. The Fauns saw these creatures as beings too dangerous to interrupt and decided to recede into the forests. But as the gates collapsed and Chaos spewed its tendrils on the world, the forests could not protect the Fauns for much longer. Most Fauns were captured by Daemons being twisted and melded into the prototypes for Ungors. The few tribes that tried to fight back against the daemonic horde were either slaughtered or captured, and those fewer than escaped found little sanctuary. Eventually, the Fauns found their way to Athel Loren, where they finally met the Oak of Ages and learned why it had chosen them. None can say for certain what knowledge the Oak gave them but what is known is what happened next. The Great Tree gave the Fauns incredible magic and transported them to another plain of reality existing inside Athel Loren. After the Fauns received the gifts from the Tree they soon transformed into Pucks. Mischievous creatures are seen as a nuisance by Elves, Humans and Treemen. Before the Tree's gifting, Pucks could travel through the forests like wind through a field but now they were invisible enigmas. Even to the Wood-elves of Athel Loren itself to see a Puck is one of the rarest events possible. Now they exist throughout the forests of the Old World, toying with humans, elves, dwarves and even their favorite victims: Chaos Worshippers. Many artists of the Empire Brettonia and Tilea draw from these creatures as inspiration for plays, poems and paintings. Some Pucks are even known to teach humans these forms of art. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My main inspiration for these creatures were Puck from Shakespeare and forest spirits from classical literature. This post is just part 1 in a series I'm doing on "beastmen" races that are untainted from the powers of Chaos. I've always felt there was so much wasted potential for the Beastmen by making them a strictly evil faction so I've decided to make some to flush them out. tell me what you guys think submitted by Consistent-View-3440 to WarhammerFantasy [link] [comments] |
2023.03.27 04:54 Kusko25 I just finished Forbidden West for the first time and I skipped the credits
Horizon Forbidden West was the only game on the PlayStation that I wanted to play. However, I couldn't justify buying an entire console just to play it. As a result, despite being a fan, I just played the game for the first time when it became available as a cloud game in PS-Plus.
After playing really good games, I usually sit and let the credits roll, enjoying the music and reflecting on the game as a way of respecting the work of the people who went into making it. But sadly, unlike Zero Dawn, I didn't feel the need to do that this time.
I'm afraid this post will turn into a rant, and despite gaining some catharsis from reading such rants here on Reddit (specifically after combat), this isn't really what I want to do. Instead, I'd like to lament, praise the game where it inspired me, and share why it let me down when it didn't follow through.
Praise I can give without reservation goes to the world design. The entire map is beautiful, with all its varied biomes, and most importantly, the different tribes that inhabit it. Guerilla excelled at giving all of them unique identities through architecture, fashion, tribal markings, and history. It is all beautifully worked out, and whoever was responsible for that can be truly proud.
This leads well into the characters that live in this world and their relation with Aloy. I truly find almost all of them (I don't really care for Zo) intriguing and inspired and would have loved to see how they clash and interact with Aloy, who is, if we're being honest, often arrogant and rude. Yet all of them fell short in development. Most grievously, I believe the AIs were hard done by. Games often, when addressing truly sentient AIs, play into the question of whether they should have the same rights as humans and be treated as equals, with the clear answer that, yes, obviously they should. Yet, at the same time, it seems they are content to reduce them to plot devices.
GAIA was named after a primordial divine creature. All the world was made from her, and it is an apt descriptor if we look at how complex such a mind must be. Distributed across the entire world, directing countless machines and terraforming equipment all at once, a mind that has tended an empty earth for hundreds of years before and watched the rise of tribes across the globe. But in the game, she is reduced to an exposition machine. She has no sense of humor, isn't adventurous or maternal, or even flirty, nor is she unknowable and mysterious. She delivers every conversation with the impassivity and monotone of a corporate secretary who doesn't care much for her job but is too integral to ever be let go.
Similarly, I was excited to meet the subfunctions, and two of them stood out as particularly interesting. The broken HADES had so much personality in the short conversation we had with it. As a monster brought low, HADES still believes in its purpose, but lacks the ability to act on it. On the opposite end of the spectrum, HEPHAESTUS was more robotic than any other subfunction, yet it still exhibited a distinct personality. HEPHAESTUS displayed neither hate nor malice, and it didn't want to destroy anything. It simply recognized that local human populations were a threat to the things that mattered to it, and thus they needed to be culled. This is similar to how humans would cull wolves living near settlements to feel safe. HEPHAESTUS was driven and never deviated from its purpose. It was a true psychopath, ruthless and cruel not out of evil, but simply because it saw no reason not to be. I didn't expect a deep dive into all the subfunctions, but it felt inadequate that each subfunction was only given a sentence to speak and no other interaction before being cut out, losing their intelligence, independence, and individuality, to become a light on the wall.
Introducing interesting concepts in characters and then never exploring them applies to almost all of the companions. Varl and Zo were deeply spiritual people who were both confronted with the reality that their religions were just stories that became myths, either invented to explain the world or distorted through time until they became dogma that they believed in.
Hekarro was crippled, and losing an arm comes with a loss of ability and a massive mental toll. We see a little of this with how much anger he carries when we first meet him, but this seems to fade without any need to confront it. For that matter, his abilities seem almost unaffected by the loss of an arm; he is still an outstanding fighter against machines and humans alike. Even climbing a sheer cliff face isn't a problem for him, and that's just not how humans work. Through him, we could have explored PTSD, feelings of helplessness, the need to accept that we can't define ourselves through only one thing all our lives, and instead have to see value in the self rather than just what you can do, but no. The deepest we go is that he has conflicting feelings about his replacement arm. (Sidenote: Did my game glitch, or did he just not use it ever outside the small quest where he shows it to you? Even when Regalla was advancing on the chief, he wasn't using it.)
Erend already had some character development in Zero Dawn, too bad that he appears to have forgotten that. He is a clumsy meathead, and everyone seems fine to bully him a little about it. He considers himself a useless failure, and every time he mentions it, everyone just awkwardly grins like this
kid. Someone give him a hug.
Interestingly, Alva, as the companion that gets introduced the latest, has the most complete arc. She confronts the shortcomings of her culture, her worries about her family, duty vs. her own interests, and how the paragons of her myths were dickheads in real life. And she's having a great time with it, despite it all, the big nerd.
Finally, Beta... Beta is a living foible for Aloy's own preconceptions. As much as Aloy dislikes being praised, she has a certain attachment to being the only one who can save the world, the chosen
one created to heal the very earth, and suddenly she is confronted with someone who has the same theoretical qualifications as her but doesn't ever confront her self image. At the same time, Aloy takes quite a bit of pride in that she managed everything alone and became so great through only her own merits, but that is, of course, only partially true. Rost cared for her and loved her, and despite their disagreements, he gave her a home to grow in. Beta, by comparison, was truly alone, and it left her broken and despairing. While the game eventually sort of addresses this, it is way too little and only stuffed in at the end. It feels like bad pacing to me and an insult to people who actually grew up in abusive conditions when they portray it like all is needed is one nice conversation for you to get over yourself. I understand there are limitations of what you can do in the context of a game, but I don't think that is a sufficient excuse. (Another sidenote, does the name Beta imply that there was another attempt to make a Sobeck clone, or is Sobeck herself the Alpha?)
Beyond that, Regalla is introduced as a main villain and then promptly ignored, to the point that I felt nothing about her when it came time to decide her fate. I actually thought it was a rather interesting plot device in Zero Dawn that Helis thought of himself as your great opposite and chosen of the sun when he really was just an obstacle in your way and a tool for HADES (and a tool, period). Applying the same to Regalla doesn't quite track though, given that she isn't just a fool, but actually in proper ideological opposition to Chief Hekarro. There was great potential there for exploring their common past, examining the drive for vengeance against the need for peace, but instead, she became a one-note antagonist, and we had less than 15 minutes of interaction with Hekarro.
Similarly, the Zeniths are introduced as maniacal egocentric bastards and only really used as an evil Deus Ex Machina. Aside from Tilda, I don't remember a single one of their names and couldn't even be bothered to look them up. They didn't work well as caricatures of greed and excess because they actually had a lot of power. It would have worked marvelously with the metaphors for CEOs and the hero worship of the Quen if we could have exploited their shortcomings. Perhaps we could have learned more about the individuals by investigating old Far Zenith facilities, or we could have managed to turn some of their tech against them by using old login credentials because they stopped caring about basic sensible security procedures and were still using legacy code. Alternatively, we could have had the boss fight against the blonde guy be a fake-out once the shield was down, where he still talks the same big game but goes down in a single hit because they hadn't been in real physical danger in a thousand years. We could have also made fun of their clothing and design choices, which all screamed more money than taste. Unfortunately, none of these things happened, and all we have is the Zeniths showing up, doing some things, and then going away.
This leads somewhat into Aloy and the team just being a bit dumb in this game. They make barely any efforts to learn about the Zeniths, even though they are helpless against them. Aloy finds their base by accident and never even sets up a camera. They allow Regalla enough free reign that she can just march on the Grove twice, essentially unopposed. And there are so many moments where Sylens should have become a bigger priority: when he lured Aloy into the West, when he delivered her to the Zeniths, when it became clear that he was responsible for the civil war and no doubt had more plans, when he first demonstrated a weapon that can kill a Zenith, and when they were exposing themselves to Zenith attack without that weapon. They never tried to get to him, instead running directly into a doomed scenario with Cauldron Gemini.
As expected, this has turned into a rant, so I'll quickly double down on that and list some of the most irritating points:
Why introduce so many new options without examining their impact on gameplay? More and more arrow types clog up the weapon wheel. Acid, adhesive, and purgewater are just versions of fire, ropecaster, and useless, respectively. So many open-world activities are locked behind equipment that you only get through main missions. Why not unlock them through well-developed side missions that can be completed anytime and that main missions may point to?
What is this massive focus on melee combat in a game that so heavily focuses on avoiding damage? The only occasions where I have found the complex weapon combos to be useful were in one-on-one battles with humanoids. Machines don't get staggered, so you can't pull off the entire combo without dodging, and multiple humans fire on you and their own people indiscriminately, so you can't focus on melee there either.
Why remove the long dodge? All enemy attacks have so much area that you need to abuse the i-frames to survive, and even then, I constantly get staggered even without being really hit (played on hard). Why nerf the jump slowdown? It wasn't game-breaking any more than concentration is now with the larger pool and refresh speed, but not having the zoom was helpful for short range.
Why does nocking another arrow cost stamina and have to be re-learned? Why hold onto the "buy better gear with money and machine parts" system but also introduce a crafting system where you use money and machine parts to improve your weapons? Either system works fine on its own, but it is annoying when I have to spend ages improving a weapon I bought for a lot of money, and at the same time, it's frustrating when I discard gear that I have invested effort into upgrading.
Why are you trying to be a platformer when it really doesn't work for you? Why are machines now able to spam their attacks without cooldown (Stormbird kept dive-bombing me, Thunderjaw was just shooting constantly)? Why did you replace so many canisters with purgewater (hooray, a status effect that doesn't debilitate their physical attacks at all and whose only benefit is that it accelerates better status effects)? Why did you replace canisters amongst variants? My brain is small and can't keep track of what is where when they still look the same.
Why is HEPHAESTUS capable of producing so many Hunter Killers, even though the whole point of Cauldron Sigma in the Frozen Wilds was that he could produce there without restrictions? Why are about 2/3 machines apex? Why build so many new spectacular machines that aren't properly balanced? Elemental Clawstriders spew more stuff than a Bellowback but don't have a single tank, large machines are so full of attacks that unless you exclusively use Tearblast, they will always die before you can cripple them. Projectiles are psychic and track you not only mid-flight but also target you while the machine doesn't know where you are. Agile creatures have their only weaknesses at the back, which you'll never see.
Monkeys.
I could probably go on, and this was cathartic, but there is no need. In conclusion, I played Forbidden West in its entirety, and I'll likely do NewGame+ as well and maybe replay it some other time, but it's not a great game. It has too many big flaws and wasted potential for me to love it, and I hope for better, maybe even in DLC.

2023.03.27 04:53 Weak-Sand9779 Super Lobotomy - an Execution which does not involve the person dying
Since we're discovering more and more about the brain, I think one day we could move onto performing executions which don't involve the body dying, but rather, the person's 'soul' being wiped clean, so to speak. There's an increasing amount of evidence that serial killers have something structurally wrong with their brains and do not respond to rehabilitation.
The prisoner is tied to a gurney and there's a machine which looks very similar to an MRI scanner. The 'death chamber' looks more like a hospital theatre than anything. The machine in the middle of the room is in fact an MRI scanner which is a lot more advanced and can measure brain activity in real time at a very high resolution. The inmates are sedated beforehand, and the machine works by scanning the brain in real time. During this, a combination of (semi-automated?) neurosurgery and magnetic stimulation are performed. The parts of the brain associated with the murderer being who he is are fried or rewired. The end result would be a person who is basically being born for the first time again, with a completely different personally. The murderer's 'soul' is gone and has been replaced, he has essentially died, even though the body is otherwise unharmed.
I'm gonna call this one 'super lobotomy', it has a similar ring to 'lethal injection'.
Pros:
Inmate remains alive during and after the execution, he has died in every way except physically.
Inmate will be heavily sedated and won't feel a thing.
Will probably satisfy the people who think killing is too cruel.
Cons:
Family members of the victims may be uncomfortable with the idea of this
Since the brain is being operated on, there's going to be a chance the inmate will end up with some level of cognitive problems
Since a doctor's oath is to do no harm, it's possible that prison staff would be doing the surgery as opposed to a neurosurgeon.

2023.03.27 04:53 SherbetTiger Question about Joy of Life Ending
Yan Bingyun backstabs Fan Xian in the TV series.
This does not happen in the novel, so what exactly happens in the novel in this part of the story?
Fan Xian travels back to Southern Qi from Northern Qi after rescuing Yan Bingyun and realizing Chen PingPing had used him as a pawn. What happens on his journey back in the novel?
Edit: I cannot believe Season 2 is a prequel. That means we will never learn if Fan Xian dies or not after the literal backstabbing.

2023.03.27 04:53 creeperflint The Magnus Archives/Nature of Predators Crossover Potential?
Big spoilers for various parts of The Magnus Archives (TMA), don't read if that will upset you. This should be readable by people who aren't familiar with TMA, though of course knowing about it will help. I know the big crossover fad passed (with the introduction of Rule 4), but I've had this idea percolating for a while and I wanted to post it.
-
TMA is a horror podcast in which there are a bunch of different "fear gods" that feed off of different kinds of fear. If a person is an avatar, they serve one of these fear gods, and have various powers in return for causing a specific kind of fear. Now, the number and division of such gods is shaky as they're all so interconnected that they're essentially the same entity but with different parts, and their sapience is questionable, but in the podcast there are essentially 15 different ones. Now, NoP has aliens, so they could easily have different fear divisions, but for my purposes I'm going to work off the divisions in the podcast.
My opinion is that TMA is a little too individual-focused for NoP, since NoP is very group-oriented and TMA avatars are individual people. I do however think that there are a lot of places in alien society that an avatar would thrive in. So, in this post I'm going to list the different entities/gods and where I think they would find a lot of fear to feed on in Federation (or Arxur) society.
-
The Web (Fear of being controlled, manipulated, or puppeted): I think that this would work well for those in the upper echelons of the Federation, like those who are in on the Conspiracy, for obvious reasons. They need people to know about all the manipulation in order to be effective, though, so having the manipulation be perfectly unnoticeable would defeat the purpose. Web avatars would feed off of people like Sovlin and Cilany (this would be why Nikonus told them everything), as well as feeding off of uplifts who are being manipulated and forced to become Federation puppets, knowing there's nothing they can do about it. Any time someone figures out all the manipulation going on, or notices a specific instance of the Federation scheming, that feeds the Web, too.
The Flesh: (Fear of "being meat"): This would be a big one in the Federation. In TMA, this is primarily an animal fear that became its own god with the invention of industrialized slaughterhouses, but in NoP, this is mostly a fear people have, of being eaten or becoming cattle. Avatars could be Arxur, Federation higher-ups who propagate the predator narrative to better feed their god, or people with "predator disease" who eat people (and ensure the incidents are highly-publicized).
The Hunt (Fear of being chased): Another big one in the Federation. In TMA, this is also a primarily animal fear, but in the Federation it would be a big sapient fear. Avatars could be Arxur, Extermination Officers, or Federation higher-ups who propagate the predator narrative to better feed their god.
The Slaughter (Fear of violence): See Flesh and Hunt.
The Dark (Fear of the dark and what it conceals): This one is probably helped greatly by the predator narrative, since predators can always be jumping out of places you can't see. So, see Slaughter.
The Spiral (Fear of insanity and delusion): Federation psychologists could easily be avatars of the Spiral. The fear that you're insane and succumbing to predator disease, the knowledge that nothing is wrong with you conflicting with the fact that psychologists are saying there is, or the fear that you're going to lose your mind after undergoing "treatment" has a lot of potential for the Spiral. It probably says something about Federation mental health if it would be a hotbed for Spiral activity.
The Desolation (Fear of pain and loss): I see this as being a big animal fear in the Federation, fed every time an ecosystem is destroyed or a planet antimatter bombed. People involved in preparing planets for colonization could easily be Desolation avatars, as well as Arxur. Desolation avatars could be involved in uplifts, too, since they involve destroying all of a civilization's achievements and culture. Extermination would be a huge Desolation hotspot, due to the frequent practice of burning animals alive coupled with the occasional "predator disease" patient whose life they can destroy. Honestly, if you told me that extermination officers were all part of a Desolation cult, I'd believe you. In short, the Federation has an awful lot of Desolation opportunities in it for something that calls itself peaceful and good.
The Extinction (Fear of extinction and of being subsequently replaced): This one isn't fully formed yet in TMA, but here, I see it being fed every time a species goes extinct or almost-extinct to the Arxur, so Arxur could easily be Extinction avatars. I see the Extinction popping up during uplifts too, since the fear that your culture is going to be wiped out and your people a generation from now are going to be unrecognizable is very Extinction.
The Lonely (Fear of isolation): I would think that the Federation's extreme focus on herds would make not being attached to a herd very unpleasant, and avatars of the Lonely would be extra effective. I can see a vicious cycle forming where you fall through the cracks, but you don't want to reach out for help because then they'll take you not having a herd for ages as proof of your strangeness and will only ostracize you further. Basically, the Lonely would be extra-effective due to the huge focus on herds.
It's possible that the Stranger (fear of the unfamiliar and uncanny) could have something to do with predator disease and its treatment, or the End (fear of death) be involved in how much the Federation focuses on all the ways you can die to predators, or the Eye (fear of being watched and of knowledge) could have to do with surveillance and with the Federation not wanting anyone to know their secrets. The Vast (fear of being insignificant and small) would have a whole new avenue for feeding in a society capable of space travel. I don't have enough concrete ideas to expand on these fears, though.
I don't see a NoP-specific place for the Buried (fear of being trapped, literally and metaphorically) or the Corruption (fear of disease, contamination, and disgusting things). Of course they would have a place in NoP society, but I'm not seeing any specific, unique, plot-relevant places for them to be.
If anyone has more ideas, about new types of avatar, specific places the fears in the above two paragraphs would fit, or different Fears that would exist or not exist in an alien society, please comment them!

It actually means to remove the mannequin from the image and replace it with the neck. A photographer takes three side shots of each product for this process (front, inner, back). Ghost mannequin editing is an essential part of image post-production. Neck joint photoshop is required on photo editing services for any type of dress. For instance- shirts, womenswear, a baby dress, and many more. After that, the mannequin gets removed in ghost mannequin effect photo editing. The three parts of an image were attached in the final image by our professional graphic design team. 2023.03.27 04:44 Logical-Recognition3 Securing your seed phrase from theft or loss
There is a lot of discussion about the best way to secure one’s seed phrase and this sub frequently sees stories of people who have lost their seed phrase through a natural disaster such as a flood or fire, or have simply lost it when they or a partner tidied up and threw away the paper containing the phrase. Another worry is that a bad actor will find your seed phrase and use it to drain your account. I have a number of accounts across a number of blockchains so I have a fair number of seed phrases to keep and protect. I follow a protocol that I believe can offer some protection against theft or loss.
Each seed phrase is broken into three numbered lists, call them A, B, and C. For example, if I have a 24-word phrase, list A will contain words 1 through 8, list B contains words 9 through 16, and list C contains words 17 through 24. I keep three separate notebooks called AB, BC, and AC. In notebook AB I have the words from lists A and B for each of my accounts. In notebook BC I have the words from parts B and C, and notebook AC contains the words from parts A and C of each seed phrase. These notebooks are contained in different structures so a house fire or flood will not take them all out. Similarly, if a thief discovers one of the notebooks, the other two are not in the same location.
Notice that if a thief does gain access to one of the notebooks, they will have 16 of the 24 words in the seed phrase. This is sufficient to deter a brute force attack for at least as long as it takes to discover the theft and transfer funds to a new account. If you are concerned about someone having even a part of your seed phrase, you can use one of the encryption methods mentioned in other threads as an extra level of security. Splitting the seed phrases protects against theft.
Note also that if a hurricane, tornado, fire, flood, or well-meaning neat freak destroys, loses, or throws out any one of the notebooks, the other two notebooks can be used to recover all of the seed phrases. Any two of three is sufficient. Splitting the seed phrases this way protects against loss, as long as you take steps to ensure that any disaster will destroy no more than one of the notebooks.
In my case, one notebook is in a safe in my home, another is in a safe deposit box in my bank, and the third is in another structure known to me and my spouse. In the case of my unexpected demise, my spouse will be able to reconstruct the seed phrases and gain access to the accounts even if my devices remain inaccessible.
Be aware that if the paper containing your seed phrase is in the house where you live and keep your phone and computer, you are running a terrible risk. A house fire could destroy your devices and your seed phrases at once, making recovery impossible. If your money is in a traditional bank then after a disaster you can replace your ID documents and recover access to your funds but if you are acting as your own bank using crypto, you need to take responsibility for securing your funds in a way that will allow you to recover from an unexpected disaster or allow your loved ones to inherit upon your passing.
Stay vigilant and stay safe.

2023.03.27 04:41 Ayoo619 Rear muffler delete
Hey guys, this is probably a dumb question. I did a muffler delete on my 3.6 challenger today, I was also supposed to receive my package today for the pipes that was replacing the rear mufflers but it ended up getting sent to the wrong location. I already cut the rear mufflers off (yeah ik I should've waited till the part came) is it dangerous to drive the car without nothing attached where the mufflers should be? My challenger is my daily so idk what to do.
