2023.03.09 11:30 Topkek69420 Blizzard, PLEASE nerf season 1 trinkets when season 2 begins
One of the big pain points about m+ in previous expansions was the presence of trinkets that you needed to recollect and use each season. The aspect of grinding for them just to have a higher item level version was one of two big pain points with this design. The other being that there was no change in your actual trinket slot between seasons. Running IQD all of shadowlands sucked, and not just because the trinket itself lacked good consistency. I just wanted to play with something else.
Dragonflight m+ solves 90% of the issue entirely with new dungeon rotations. Higher item level pieces can nearly assure that previous season items become superseded by the new stuff. However there are some outlier(s) that exist, which could prove to be a headache.
The puzzle box.
That’s my main concern, and possibly the only one, but this should be applied to any trinket that’s proving to be a bit too strong in specific scenarios. I can only speak about what I know however so I will talk only about the puzzle box.
As an Unholy DK, this trinket is nuts. If you go to bloodmallet and see the damage increase this trinket gives to us, it’s actually kind of insane. Unchanged the puzzle box has a high chance of being our BIS trinket in season 2. Of course some raid trinkets could swoop on and just be better than the box. But at what item level? At what boss? Also if m0 dungeons scale up with season 2, that still provides a (terrible) way to get this trinket.
I don’t want that. I want new toys to play with in the season. And for any unholy DK that starts after season 1, they now have WAY LESS access to this item, which is a poor design choice. You could compare this to sylvanas daggers in 9.2. However that raid didn’t go away. It could still be farmed (easier as well than in 9.1.) m+ academy will be gone. Period.
Edit: I’ll make a small amendment: obviously if a trinket isn’t actually gonna be stronger than season 2 pieces, then don’t nerf it.

2023.01.20 10:26 EasyEntertainment343 While we're on the subject of racials let's talk about Vulpera. They are not bugged like Mechagnomes and yet they are the worst race DPS wise in the game by far.
All data is taken from Bloodmallet and you can look for yourself here For those who don't know Vulpera's damage racial is called Bag of Tricks; a 1.5 min CD spell that throws a projectile at your target dealing damage. They do not have any DPS passives like most other races.
Vulpera can play 9 classes - Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warlock, Shaman, Monk, DK and can play 20 DPS specs.
Of these 20 Vulpera is the worst race for damage for 14 of them second to worst for 2 of them 3rd worst for 2 and 4th worst for one.
They are by a significant margin the worst race in the game for DPS, no other race apart from perhaps Lightforged comes close and even they are better. While Mechagnomes racial is not scaling to 70 right now, they are still far superior than Vulpera for damage and Vulpera are In desperate need of a small buff. How bad Vulpera are has been known for a while but nothing has been done. Either a small buff to Bag of Tricks OR a 1% stat racial would be enough to make them un-terrible.
I will also address some counterpoints I've seen people make when I bring up this data.
*1. DPS differences between races are so small they are insignificant
While this generally is true and what race you pick does not matter for your damage unless you are pushing the hardest possible content such as RWF, Vulpera are a significant outlier among all races for damage; to the point where for some classes Using the Vulpera Racial is a DPS loss compared to using any other ability
*2. Vulpera's other racials make up for the low DPS
Vulpera's other racials mostly centre around exploring and open world content, such as the Alpaca caravan. The only other combat racials they have are a 1% fire resist and a damage reduction when an enemy hits you for the first time, which while useful especially in M+, quickly loses its value in raid and doesn't offset the awful damage. While bag of tricks can also be used as a heal its pretty insignificant, especially at higher levels restoring around 15% of your hp and requiring a global to use it. To bring a small amount of Utility and a negative damage compared to essentially every other race is not enough to offset their (Small) strengths.
TL:DR Vulperas are the the worst DPS race in the game by a significant margin, being the worst for 14/20 DPS specs they have access too and need a little buff.

2023.01.18 13:18 scwishhh How Great Vault loot is created
In case you're wondering how RNG decides on which items to give you:
1) You will get necklaces, because Lariat exists.
2) You will weaker copies of tier pieces you already have. Having an M+ piece upgraded to 411+ basically guarantees a drop from normal/heroic raid.
3) You will never get a weapon.
4) You will never get something for that one slot you targeted to upgrade the whole week.
5) Every trinket you´ll ever see will be from the bottom 5 on Bloodmallet.
6) Your alts get 4set in record time with minimal effort.
7) In doubt, you´ll get more necklaces.
8) And finally, an extra necklace!
Did I forget anything important? :(

2023.01.11 09:32 Jimmypw86 Whispering Incarnate Icon - why is it SOOOO good?
Help me understand.
I can choose this in the cault at 408. - but I can also choiose 411 tier gloves finally giving me 2 set.
bloodmallet and everyone I see wants this trinket. its at 7.88% damage upgrade at 408 and the clear number 1 trinket. I just dont understand why exactly? it has high int ofc, (im a warlock), it has 503 crit. so basically 419int and 508 crit nonstop. then it can proc 259 infusion stat? (Is that int if a caster?)
I will probably just end up getting this trinket since we will soon get the tier catalyst.
but. Why is this trinket so godly???

Since their Inception Vulpera have been the worst race for almost every DPS spec -
https://bloodmallet.com/chart/warriofury/races/castingpatchwerk I'd love to play a Vulpera warrior but the racial is so poor its a bad idea for mythic progression. So here is my plea, Blizzard please give Vulperas damage racial a small buff so it isn't the worst pick for every class.

2022.06.14 20:44 IamNobodyAmaA I created an offline talent tree manager for creating & editing talent trees, skillsets & loadouts and auto generating and filtering talent combinations.
Hi, I'm BuffMePls, creator of the
WoW Talent Tree Manager (TTM). TTM is a full-fledged managing application for all of your talent tree needs in Dragonflight onwards. It all started with a
tweet by Bloodmallet about combination counts and some insightful discussions and quickly transformed into an application that allows you to create and manage multiple skillsets, create and edit your own trees and (in my opinion) the coolest feature: generating every possible combination in a talent tree and letting you filter them based on must-have and must-not-have talents.
TTM is hosted on github and you can grab the newest release on the
release page. TTM will notify you when a new TTM version is available and in addition to that, upgrade presets and icons automatically.
A big focus of TTM was shareability and collaboration between users. You can import/export trees and/or skillsets for other TTM users to use. You can also export directly to pastebin or as a screenshot. Additionally, you can export a detailed and readable version of your custom talent tree to share some ideas with others. In the future, when WoW itself and later on Simulationcraft define their import/export formats you will be able to generate those as well. This allows for quick brainstorming -> simming -> importing ingame and vice versa.
The app includes a
loadout editor (which is a collection of skillsets and a description) where you can simply create skillsets with any amount of talent points, name them, give your loadout a description. You can import and export multiple skillsets for quick share.
There's also a
tree editor included where you can play around with existing presets or create a completely new
custom tree (Tinker class tree anyone?). In that window you can create a description of your tree, create talents of all sorts and flavors and arrange them as you like and reload presets or save/load custom trees as well as using all mentioned import/export features.
The
loadout solver is a tool where you can take your tree of interest, define how many talent points you'd like to spend at most and let TTM gather every possible combination for that tree. In the next screen you can add either a single combination or a full page of combinations to your loadout or interact with the talents to create a filter. With that filter you can define some must-have talents as well as talents that should not appear in the skillset and TTM shows only applicable combinations. Maybe you want to know if it's possible to select all capstone talents, or you want to know how many variations of your favorite build exist (and, in the future, how well they sim).
As mentioned on the github page and in the app, if you have any feedback or issues, you can directly DM me on discord, answer in this thread or create an issue/discussion on the github page. I plan on updating the presets as fast as Blizzard is releasing them (with the help of friends) and if I release new preset versions you will be notified in TTM and offered to update automatically.
Thanks for reading, and have fun.

2022.05.14 19:35 Njelly013 Coming back - trying to remember some links to good resources
I am coming back after about eight months and had quite a few links that went to sites that broke down covenants/specs and essentially everything people were using for classes in Raid/mythic+ and broke it out by percentages. I went back quite a ways in my discord looking at things that I have since removed as pens and came across bloodmallet - mythictrap - mplus.subcreation.net - would anyone happen to have any good resources that I could add and reshape with the guild coming back. I was trying to go through Raider OI and take a tally to at least get a baseline of knowledge and it is not super effective.

2022.04.23 05:18 HayaXT1 I already dislike the proposed Dragonflight M+ S1.
So now that I've gotten some attention with a sketchy title, let me elaborate.
M+ as an end-game content is often considered pretty stale and boring, especially due to trinket farming in dungeons like MoTS for Changeling, ToP for Ruby, DOS for Scale, etc. Trinkets, especially stat sticks or strong AoE-wise ones are highly sought for end-game content due to websites like Bloodmallet, Wowhead, MPlus Subcreation and YouTube due to the "min-max culture" that exists in the game. As a 3K rating/CE raider, I'm part of it and enforcer of such culture, but again, I'm a overwhelming minority in a game that many people enjoy casually hanging with friends, collecting stuff or progressing at their own pace in the current PvE/PvP end-game and if you think you need such things to be doing high end content, you don't have the right mentality. I usually run with a full group so I don't pug M+/raid much or even at all, but when I do, wow. The standard WoW player that wants to run their weekly 15's usually don't know major trash mechanics/kicks and due to that, usually throw blame around, causing stress among the community and often posts here in this subreddit. And all that makes me anxious to pug even a 15 since I don't know what to expect from a group, and I've ran those dungeons 100+ times each throughout those 2 years of SL.
And we've been running those 8 (Tazavesh being exempt since it got into M+ this season) same dungeons for almost 2 years now. I can't even imagine learning 8 new dungeons each and every season of DF and try to pug a key without making me want to grab only overgeared, overachievers, and such to avoid having 30-40 minutes or even more of stress.
But I need to make the disclaimer: I'm not the target audience of this game and I know I'm a 1%er. But what I'm trying to say here is that I'm not the one which will be affected. I rarely pug. I'll run with my boys for the next expansion as well and I'm not going to get impacted by it since we'll take our time to learn and eventually push 20+ again in a few weeks as usual.
So ponder it with yourself. Do you think the fun factor of having an entire new set of dungeons every patch to learn/run is gonna overrun the frustration of having terrible pug experiences? My solution is quite a known one: let us have the 8 DF standard dungeons in M+ (so we can have a few stable, safe and known dungeons that even if you run with a bad group, you might be able to complete it still), and bring in/out 2-4 old/revamped dungeons to shake things up (bring some new challenges to look forward and "new and shiny" loot) and introduce a mega dungeon as is now the usual.
And here's my main if you want to shit on me in game. Edit: clarification.

2021.08.16 13:12 qvantry Questions as a WoW player for 12 years transitioning into FF14
Hey,
Im looking for an MMO with similar gameplay to play outside of progression raiding in WoW, progression is almost coming to an end in the latest raid, just a few more weeks, and FF has really caught my attention. I have some questions about the game, and some comparisons to WoW which might not be fair comparisons, but that's all I know.
First of all, I'm a decently high end raider, healer mostly. I've healed since early Wrath, and playing currently in top 300 guilds with two progression days. With that said, I'm not at all interested in playing this game for any sort of story, role playing or anything like it, I would only be interested for its' raids. I've heard that people have a bad take against that mentality, why is that? The last thing I'd want to do is to go about annoying people.
Since Im not at all interested in any story or leveling, I'm kind of considering a boost, and then if I do like the game, maybe I level another character from the start, but for now I'd like to get into the actual endgame content as fast as possible, boosting my character and skipping story quests.
The questions I'm mostly curious about are the following:
- What do I need to buy to get to the end game content, the game and the latest expansion, and there seems to be two boosts, "One Hero's Journey", and "A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood". Which boost is the most appropriate for me, or do I need both?
- I'm not at all interested in healing in FF, I've done that for so long in WoW, so I figured I'd do some ranged DPSing instead. What is the best meta class for ranged dps currently? Also, if possible, what class in WoW would that compare to if you've played WoW yourself?
- What makes WoW so great, in my opinion, is the community driven projects which helps you min-max and improve, a few examples are: logs, sims, A BUTT LOAD OF ADDONS so you can customize EVERYTHING the way YOU want it, and more. There are a lot of tools that come from sims and logs too, you can review your wipes on wipefest, or check stats on bloodmallet and similar sites, as well as sim what gear is the best for you in what scenario (dungeons, raids, singel target fights, cleave fights etc). Does FF have anything similar to this? If yes, what kind of tools? If no, what other resources exist which can help me become the best player I can be?
- What are some high-end world first esque FF content creators you could recommend watching?
- Is there any no-go zones for what I want in the game as there are in WoW in terms of servers? In WoW and PR server or PvE server would be a hard No Go Zone for me, or are all serves the same? If they are, which one would you recommend in terms of population?
- Is there any races that are better than others for different jobs that I would need to look into before creating my character? Or is it only looks and RP that goes into the races?
Sorry for the wall of text, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide for a transitioning player, hope to play with you some day :)

2021.08.03 20:25 lyssah_ Proper boon usage on Kyrian Shadow Priest
I play Disc on my Priest so naturally i am Kyrian for Boon of the Ascended.
When I play Shadow I'm really not sure how I'm meant to use boon properly. Bloodmallet shows the legendary as actually being decent so I assume there is a clearly optimal way to use it, but I can't for the life of me find what it is.
Logs I look at have lots of different strategies, guides say different or questionable things, and personal testing is inconclusive, with my personally preferred usage of after first voidform being not being recommended by any guides.
All help is appreciated.

My Game Experience and Approach
[1] I’ve played and raided since Cata getting AoTC (on alt accounts) each tier I’ve played. I’ve leveled all classes and played all classes as their tanking role as well as healing and have DPSed on most all specs save warrioret/ele (all classes are about knowing the rotation anyways).
[2] I’m familiar with weak auras/ERT/other addons/simcraft/bloodmallet as I’ve pugged most of my career and probably raid lead over half the time.
[3] I watch videos for fights I don’t know and use consumables (a given for mythic raiding).
My Expectations for a Raid Team
I don’t mind wiping for hours if we’re progressing or getting close to a kill and everyone’s chill but I still want a team that knows when to bench a guy to help the group progress. I expect the team to be making callouts and will meet this expectation as well.
Regarding my Ele Spec
If you’re interested in me raiding as Ele, he’s 210 ilvl and I’d need time to gear up (I’d run mythic+ all day for a week aside from weekly’s for DH so it wouldn’t take long for me to be ready for SoD). As it’s one of the few specs I haven’t played it, I’m interested in it and chain lightning looks fun. I can heal on this shaman for fights that need an extra healer.
