2023.03.27 06:01 OhNoOW Cracked cup
About a year ago my sister bought us 2 XQC neon collectors boxes.I had entrusted my dad into washing my cup and he cracked it while washing it.So I had stolen my sister's knowing she doesn't really like GFuel or use her shaker cup . Eventually she saw the crack after one day when she randomly decided to use it.Since then it's been tossed next where we store our cat dishes and not been used for months .I cleaned it a couple minutes ago,the crack is super small and you'd have to hold it up to light to really see it.Is there any home remedy I can use to fix the crack or should I use something such as flex seal or modge podge to fix the crack so potentially I can give hers back and use mine with out issues.Thank you

2023.03.27 06:00 PM_ME_UR_REDPANDAS help: Buying a prepaid priority mail label from usps.com. Site asks me when the ship date is, but I don’t know
Like the title says, I’m trying to buy a prepaid Priority Mail label on usps.com.
The form asks me when the ship date is, and says it can be up to 3 days in the future. The problem is I don’t know when the ship date will be, as I’m providing the Priority Mail envelope to someone to send back some documents to me. It could be a few weeks between the time I provide the prepaid envelope and when the envelope is actually shipped back to me.
So, does the ship date actually matter?
Should I be using another method to get the prepaid label?
Any help would be appreciated.

2023.03.27 05:55 Narutouzumakihunter What mice should I choose between G304 Lightspeed or Signature M650 ?
Well, I own Logitech MK240 and MK850. MK850 comes with a beautiful mouse m720. I really like this mouse. On the other hand, MK240 comes with a small mouse. I want to replace that one with something more powerful but not too costly. So, G304 Lightspeed, Signature M650, G203, M585 comes in mind. I removed G203 because It is not wireless. And M585 is not available in my region.
So, what is your suggestion? You can recommend other stuff too. Thanks in advance.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a suburbanite with no farming or forestry experience. This is me pondering where I'd like to live, ideally. Someone more experienced can comment on the economics of it. This essay assumes there will be income from a job, such as online remote work.
A backyard is not enough.
Family farm homesteading?
The impulse to retreat from degenerate postmodernity and homestead in the wilderness is strong and growing. r /Homestead has 2.4 million members, and r /HumanRewilding explains why. However, my vague impression is that most homesteaders attempt to start a family farm. Great frustration often results, as one learns the difficulties of competition with economies of scale. The family farm lifestyle disappeared for a reason. My sources on this are impeccable.
Things Homesteaders Say YouTube The personal effort expended is somewhat pointless, since family farming is still unsustainable, particularly after a societal collapse. (Unless you're doing it the Amish way.) More importantly, Earth's ongoing ecological collapse may render intensive farming increasingly nonviable. The vertical line on the atmospheric CO2 chart alone has the potential to cause desertification, a sudden ice age, or just scour away topsoil due to violent adjustments in the thin soil-water-air layer that we take for granted on this spinning molten magnetic rock.
One wouldn't want to wake Jormungandr. Those pyramids didn't weather themselves.
🌊 JÖRMUNGANDR 🌊 (VølfgangTwins) Heavy Viking Music YouTube What can one do about all this that is actually helpful and practical? And preferably enjoyable. If one's children slave away pointlessly on a hobby farm, they will surely not repeat the mistake. Sustainability includes intergenerational!
Soil depletion
Permaculture is more sustainable than modern commercial farming. However, it still encounters the fundamental problem of soil depletion.
Animals avoid soil nutrient depletion by shitting where they ate. Humans won't do that. Farmers spray liquified shit on their fields, but it's chemical and fuel intensive.
Where does topsoil come from? Tree roots dig it out, then fall and rot, creating surface dirt. Forest is thus the ecologically-optimal land biome, since it efficiently captures water, sunlight and CO2, and moderates air temperature and wind. Reforestation is the best thing we can do for our planet.
Therefore instead of farming, homesteaders should practice forestry. This will be more fun for everyone, since forest homesteading is lazy. Trees require no encouragement to grow. They are quite competitive about it.
To make things easier, plant your homestead next to an existing forest, so that the full biome can easily spread to your property. Help it along by planting trees, and the rest will naturally follow. Birds poop seeds everywhere.
Erosion is a constant. Soil runs down rivers into the sea. Trees turn more rock into soil. As long as humans don't harvest too much, this cycle can continue indefinitely, powered by the sun.
Humans Destroyed Forests for Thousands of Years. We Can Become the First Generation to Expand Them Max Roser Lowland orchards
Lowlands have a soil surplus due to erosion. Intensive farming can recover key nutrients before they're washed away and compacted into useless sedimentary rock.
Therefore, lowlands are the place to plant orchards. Trees are better than crops, because it is still important to bind the soil, etc. However, the fruit can be harvested for human use without soil depletion, due to the constant influx. Spreading fertilizer is appropriate to compensate for soil nutrient depletion.
Plant trees whose fruit you can use. Why not benefit from your labor? However, a monocropped orchard is too artificial to be sustainable. Be random.
Permaculture gardens work on the same principle. It is best to live in a clearing, to avoid unfortunate dead falls. Surrounding oneself with a garden fed on compost is natural.
The best use for nightsoil is to fertilize biodegradable planters containing useful plants or trees. After sprouting, these can be transported from the nursery to random destinations on one's daily walk. It's a laid-back way to grow one's personal Garden of Eden. Such a cabin could turn a dryad green with envy.
Herbivores are attracted to lowland orchards, but can be driven off with household dogs, who create a buffer between wild predators and the homestead. Unlike guns, dogs cull prey by fitness.
Fishing for trees
Aquaculture is the last chance to recover soil before erosion sweeps it onto the ocean floor where light can no longer reach it. Time to get aggressive.
Fish are basically omnivorous, so fisherman naturally perform apex predation by simply tossing back the smaller ones. This excludes traps that catch and kill small fish indiscriminately. As long as the small fry and seabed are left unmolested, there is no danger of overfishing. The ocean is always getting more nutrient-rich soil, and planting trees only adds more.
Changing the local ratio of big to small fish does little harm to the ecosystem (starving whales are a distant issue to homesteaders). Human hunting of land animals is much more detrimental. Eat the fish, keep the scraps and plant trees with them.
Should one channel and divert water for aquaculture? I don't think so. Let the trees grab as much water as they can. Then the beavers can build dams out of them, if they manage to dodge the coyotes. Stocking ponds is certainly helpful, like planting trees. There is no need to feed the fish, however. Let the forest do that.
Apex warden
How should a warden hunt land animals? By acting as an apex warden.
Predators cull prey, preventing them from over-grazing the plants. Old and sickly animals are caught before they can be colonized by parasites and disease. Remove predators, and herbivore population explodes, overgrazing plants before succumbing to starvation and disease.
Apex predators sit at the top of the food chain. Apex predators in North America include cougars, bears and wolves. A warden's job is to cull sickly apex predators to preserve their fitness. Threatening humans is presumptive evidence of sickliness. The fur is good even if the meat isn't. The carcass can be used for dog food.
One can build various shelters that benefit wildlife, from birdhouses to lean-tos. Dugouts are prone to damp, but that no longer matters once the ground freezes. These shelters can be lifesaving for human and animal alike. Knowing the location of dens makes it easier to cull the sick and starving, whether carnivore or herbivore. It is also a good way to make friends with the gentler local wildlife, who will not refuse a winter treat.
Similarly, trees suffering infestation should be cut down and hauled off for wood. Trees are the "apex predators" of the plant world, which is a quiet war for sunshine and soil. Trees that offer nothing useful to humans are candidates for firewood.
Cult of trees
Woodland Indians practiced forestry (for subsistence not lumber), and I suspect woodland Europeans did the same. It's definitely a lifestyle, but adding some spirituality helps it self-perpetuate.
Treehuggers are nuttier than squirrels, and I'm no exception. Still, I think it would make a good religion. How about we call it
Anastasianism?
While I do not identify as a tree, I do feel a kinship with birds. Planting a forest gives our feathered friends a home. When you die, would you rather have a forest or a 401k?
Exit event
While living off the land is fun, don't expect to turn a profit. Monetization happens when the property is sold after the value has increased through reforestation. By documenting the delights of the property while living on it, you increase both the price and the odds that someone who loves forest will move in. Why shouldn't a plot of land have a social media account?
If you like the neighborhood, no need to move far. There's always another patch of forest to plant. Alternatively, you can retire on your patch of paradise.
Conclusion
Reforestation and childrearing are the proper primary goals of homesteading. The rest is just lifestyle and capital appreciation. Learn the land, document it, improve it, repeat. The whole process builds towards the sale. Buy enough land that you won't get bored, but not so much it's overwhelming.
Here are the lines from my journal that prompted this crazy essay:
Must grow the forest. Home of the birds. [Nord home](
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ayQk0HSTtY). How to make the desert bloom? March the forest towards it. The [cedars of Lebanon](
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedars\_of\_God) can shade the Sahara.
The Ent's Marching Song (Without Narration) - Clamavi De Profundis YouTube Ironically, r /Forestry is mostly hostile to this idea, regarding it as fantasy. They are focused on commercial timber. Nothing wrong with a red neck, but it does come with some understandable hostility to treehuggers. If hippies wanted to help, they could set up their own permaculture forest homestead instead of spiking trees or whatever.
Apparently "food forests" are already a thing on r /SelfSufficiency:
Hail Sylvanus.
Sylvanus, God of Forests Magic the Gathering Discussion
HutchK18 Interesting. I'm currently about 90%+ aligned with this… I think. I'll need to reread again later. And eventually maybe a 3rd time. I myself have 6 kids, and recently bought some raw mostly forested land. I've been planting hardwood trees and doing other stuff. I recently put in a stone road, planted an orchard (125 fruit trees… crab, apple, peach, pear, plum, cherry, mulberry, hazelnut, butternut, etc), built a pond and stocked it (bluegill, largemouth bass, redear sunfish, channel cats, forage minnows), and a 2,500 tree pine forest. This Fall I'm putting in a few acres of a pollinator planting fir the bees, butterflies, etc). Next Spring I'll be putting in a wetland, and vernal pools. At that point I'll have a creek, pond, wetland and numerous springs / seeps for water. Eventually Ill be digging a deep well. Then I'm thinking I'd like to set aside a few acres of the lower fields that have the good soil aside to start "farming" for food. I'm aligned with doing things like the Amish. I grew up in a large Amish community, and really appreciate their family culture and farming practices. They don't get it all right… but do a lot right. I view all this more of a lifestyle, and not a religion. As you mentioned, I'm semi-retired, working remotely for some $$$. I'm doing this "forestry" as a hobby because I really enjoy it.
Sounds like you're living the dream. That's a good point: Lowlands that receive surplus soil from erosion are naturally suited for intensive farming cycled with grazing and lying fallow. This slots a big piece of the puzzle for me, thanks.
Wells are great too; the water isn't doing anything sitting in the aquifer.
I've read that the woodland Indians practiced forestry (for subsistence not lumber), and I suspect woodland Europeans did the same. It's definitely a lifestyle, but adding some spirituality helps it self-perpetuate. Great to see someone continuing the lifestyle!
HutchK18 Maybe my post is in the wrong Reddit thread/section. My goal is not strictly forestry. And no, it's not to make money… I'm too old. Maybe my kids/grandkids will reap a little profit? I worked with the local county SWC office, who developed the plans based on my overall goal. This is a "long term" effort. All the "projects" qualify for cost share through the EQIP program. I have a local Land Management company to implement these plans. I'm clearly putting in a lot more money to "manage" the land than I'll ever reap in my lifetime. Again, my goal is NOT strictly lumber production, although that's part it. Although no trees will likely be cut in my lifetime. The goal is overall environmental improvement of the land for some future income, and wildlife benefit. I'm not sure why all down votes? Geesh, what a rough crowd.
Wow, great suggestion to cooperate with government conservation programs! Thanks :)
HutchK18 Always check with the county ag services when doing anything like this. There is almost always tax benefits and cost share opportunities. I've had a biologist, forester, and various other government employees out at no cost to me. They've help guide me as well as 1) conducted soil samples, 2) developed a woodland management plan, 3) developed a wildlife management plan, and 4) developed a wetland engineering plan… all at no cost to me. Plus they provide stuff such as a tree planter… again at no cost to me. I've still got to supply the labor to run it, but the use of the equipment is free. Look up EQIP (Environmental Quality Improvement Program) to get an idea on what cost share opportunities there are. Plus, get your land CAUV (Current Agriculture Use Value) designated for a tax break.
Lol, you've got the brain trust begging to play.
HutchK18 This essay speaks to me. I'm onboard with everything except the "tree hugger religion". I'm against that. I was deep into that side (member of all the big name groups… Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Nature Conservancy, etc…). Then I realized many of these have, to various degrees, a "no use" philosophy at their core. They view humans as some kind of parasite on this planet. My philosophy is one of "wise use". I'm not afraid to cut down a tree if I need to. This is our home planet. Nature is very capable of supporting us. But having said that, if we misbehave too much, we may not like how nature responds. But we are NOT parasites. Again I believe in "wise use".
Thanks! I agree, the environmentalists can get a little crazy. Druids gonna druid.

2023.03.27 05:54 Massive_Level_7127 How Does Bone Conduction Headphones Work and What Are Their Pros and Cons?
| Bone conduction headphones are becoming popular among sports fans. We always see people wearing headphones that don't have to be tucked into their ears when they are running, riding, or working out. They looks cool, so what exactly is the working principle bone conduction headphones? What are their other characteristics? How about their pros and cons? How do bone conduction headphones work? Let's start with a story. Beethoven was a great composer, and he is still loved by many people with representatives such as "Fate Symphony", "Eroica Symphony ", "Ode of Joy Symphony " and so on. In fact, Beethoven suffered from hearing impairment in his later years. Even in this state, he continued to compose, which is a bit bizarre. How did he do it? When playing, Beethoven held his baton in his mouth and put the other side on the piano, and then hear the sound.. This was the earliest application case of bone conduction. In Beethoven's case, the vibrations caused by the piano as a source of sound are transmitted through the baton to the jawbone on the side of the mouth, and then from the frontal bone to the inner ear, which eventually formed hearing. You may have found that the entire sound transmission process was the participation of solids such as batons and bones, without the participation of air and the eardrum. This seems to be a little deviated from our daily cognition. If we look through the physics books in middle school, we could know that there are three mediums for sound transmission: namely air, liquid and solid. Human bones are solids, and of course, they can also act as a medium for transmitting sound. With the above knowledge, it would be easy for us to understand how bone conduction headphones work. Bone conduction headphones are a type of headphones manufactured by using bone conduction technology. Bone conduction is a sound conduction method with bones as the medium. It converts sound into mechanical vibrations of different frequencies to transmit sound waves through the human skull, bone labyrinth, inner ear lymph, spiral organ, and auditory center. When they work, you only need to put the sound unit close to the temple, do not need to stuff them into the ear canal. They are good to the cleaning of the ear canal, and cause no harm to the eardrum. The working principle and wearing method of bone conduction headphones bring many benefits。 What are the Pros of bone conduction headphones? First of all, because they use the principle of bone conduction to transmit sound instead of air conduction, most bone conduction headphones do not affect the acquisition of ambient sound by both ears when used. Therefore, it is very safe when you use it outdoors, and you will not ignore the possible dangers because you are immersed in the music when wearing it. Secondly, because most of the them are close to the hard bone position (beside the ear), instead of directly blocking the ear canal like in-ear headphones, or clamping the soft tissue of the ear like clip-on headphones. After wearing bone conduction headphones for a long time, ear damage cause of Headphones is much less than in-ear headphones or clip-on headphones. For example, if you wear them for four hours, clip-on headphones may cause your ears to hurt unbearably, but even if you wear bone conduction headphones for a long time, you will basically feel nothing. Therefore, they are very comfortable to wear. On top of that, common headphones can clog the ear canal, leading to the growth of a lot of bacteria that can lead to ear infections. Bone conduction headphones do not have these effects because they do not need to be worn in the ear, and they will not rub against the external auditory canal when worn. So they are more suitable for people with oily ears, otitis media, small ears, and some people with sensitive ears because they do not need to be inserted into the ears. They are also more suitable for people who need to wear headphones for a long time. Therefore, bone conduction headphones are very healthy. Bone conduction headphones have relatively little hearing damage, because hearing damage generally occurs in the eardrum and inner ear, while bone conduction headphones directly bypass the eardrum to avoid eardrum damage. Moreover, the vibration waves of them are relatively moderate, and the impact on auditory hair cells will be less, so the damage to hearing caused by them is minimal. For these reasons, bone conduction headphones have become very popular these years. Of course, bone conduction headphones are not perfect, and they have their drawbacks. What are the Cons of bone conduction headphones? The first con is that the sound quality is not as good as traditional headphones because of its wearing method. Due to its design characteristics, the anti-interference effect is not ideal in noisy environments such as shopping, taking the subway, and taking a car. Because it is transmitted to the ear ossicles through the skin and skull, so their degree of music reproduction is not as good as traditional in-ear headphones. The second con is that the phenomenon of sound leakage still needs to be overcome. If there is a common problem with bone conduction headphones, it is the problem of sound leakage. Although major manufacturers are trying to improve the sound leakage, judging from the actual status, sound leakage still exists in the headphones. Of course, mainstream bone conduction headphone brands, such as wissonly and Aftershokz, have made a lot of efforts to improve the sound leakage of bone conduction headphones, and have almost solved the sound leakage problem. Of course, in the past two years, the technology in the field of bone conduction headphones has made great progress, and some of the disadvantages mentioned above have been greatly improved, such as the sound quality and the reduction of sound leakage. Now I will recommend some good bone conduction headphones. 1. wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphones Reason for recommendation: Wissonly bone conduction headphones are recognized by the market with its leading bone conduction vibrator technology. Their team has accumulated more than 10 years in the field of bone conduction technology, which has been affirmed in terms of product quality and hearing protection effect. Wissonly Hi Runner uses a large-size bone conduction vibrator, which increases the vibration area by 35%. When you wear it, the diffusion direction of sound quality will be more comprehensive, the coverage will be wider, and the sound will be more stereo. Its sound will be deeper in low frequency and more transparent in high frequency. They have also made a lot of efforts in the technology of sound leakage reduction, including the built-in reverse sound wave system and the all-closed-body design, thus reducing the sound leakage by 90%. It is comfort: Wissonly Hi Runner's whole body is made of high-tech and low-sensitivity silicone, which contains no chemical components to avoid allergy. The overall touch is as silky as baby's skin, which can avoid uncomfortable situations when worn for a long time. Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction Bluetooth headphones are also equipped with a new Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which has stronger anti-interference ability, and can easily cope with various outdoor complex scenes, so as to ensure that the good mood during exercise will not be disturbed by disconnection. The stable connection also brings ultra-low delay performance. Listening to songs, chasing dramas and playing games meet all the daily demands for headphones. 2. Philips A6606 bone conduction headphones Recommended reason: In terms of appearance, A6606 adopt a simple and solid color design. Except for the logo at the end of the ear hook, there is no unnecessary decoration. The overall sense is very strong, and they visually give people a simple sense of technology. They feel quite good to wear, neither compressing the head and cervical vertebrae nor messing up the hair. A6606 do not need to be worn into the ears. They do not hurt the eardrum during long-term wearing ,and they will not cause you sweat during exercise, and are comfortable and breathable. In addition, their IP67 dustproof and waterproof rating, 9-hour battery life, Bluetooth 5.2 and other features make the bone conduction headphones a good choice. 3.AfterShokz OPENRUN PRO bone conduction headphones Recommended reason: It has improved the sound quality and sound leakage reduction, and can connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time.Duo to its ergonomic ear-sticking design,it has high wearing comfort. There are two sizes, 16.2cm and 18.7cm. Girls suggest the mini version. 4.earsopen SS900 bone conduction headphones Recommended reason: This bone conduction headphone adopts the ear-clipping mode, and the novel wearing mode also makes it need to be worn with both hands. Moreover, there will be obvious discomfort of ear-clipping when worn for a long time. In the headphones’ body, the pressure control area is adopted, and the headphones can be controlled by clicking and double-clicking, etc. The single ear part weight of 8g basically has no weight sense during wearing. With the bone conduction vibrator technology newly developed by BoCo Company, it has a good performance in the low frequency range, but it has obvious sound leakage in the middle and high frequencies. 5.Nank Runner CC3 bone conduction headphones Recommended reason: Runner CC2 has a solid button area on the outside, which is very convenient to use. The surface of the headphone body is made of soft material, which makes it very comfortable to be attached to the ear. It is really stable to wear with the ear-hanging scheme, supports Bluetooth 5.0, and the earphone signal is very stable during use. The sound quality is quite satisfactory, and the sense of music rhythm and space is well controlled. The above five bone conduction headphones are all products with good performance.Among them, wissonly and Aftershokz are the most recommended brands because they both have core technologies in this field. Compared with the two brands, Wissonly's product parameters is better and cost-effective. submitted by Massive_Level_7127 to HeyNewGadget [link] [comments] |
2023.03.27 05:51 RevanAvarice Looking for centerline battery cruisers among the Faction Mods (and low-cost drones)
I was having some instability issues that tweaking vmparams and the config settings weren't fixing (Java8 is up to date), so I opted for a reinstall on my mods folder, so its tabula rasa again for a campaign launch.
I've been having fun with a lot of cruisers, in particular the ifed ones from Interstellar Federation (refurbished), but that is one of the mods I chose not to reinstall (hidden systems built into those ships were messing up).
Looking for cruisers that have their primary weapon batteries along the centerline, with arcs of 210-270* would be optimal. Basically being able to flex the Mediums around; I am not expecting to find Cruisers with 2 Large mounts on the centerline with wide arcs, but something similar to what Keptin and Weftin were each working on. Boy, they were fun ships though; loved that aesthetic, but they felt a bit anemic at times for as much pixels as they took up.
There is one candidate I am looking at from Tartiflette's O.R.A that looks promising.
The doctrine I would like to build the fleet around is to be able to take 10-11 of these bastards into a 240 CR fight. In Vanilla, I did this with 5 Apogees (90), 5 Eagles (110), backlined by a Conquest (40) outfitted with a single broadside I would pilot around, and make beep-beep-beep noises as I had to back it up. Was a neat package followed along by a couple of CRigs, some Phaetons, and some bulk freighters.
Minimize the amount of Small mounts, and especially any spinal (fixed) mounts except Missiles, while intending any hangar bays for low-cost drones to serve as PD/chaff.
I get it, Catamaran aesthetics look really cool, but modern naval gunnery has already moved past that last century, and we are technically operating on a flat 2D plane with layers at most. Arc is everything to me.

2023.03.27 05:50 Capital-Afternoon-12 A Frustrated Art Teacher
Hi! I’m an elementary art teacher in Texas, this is my second year teaching, and I have no one to vent to about “teacher” problems. So I figured I’d vent a little here, if that’s okay.
The mindset of my specials coworkers is “we’ve got an easy job, go with the flow and don’t complain and admin will ignore you and your life will be easy”. So I feel like a nuisance whenever I bring up something with them that I don’t agree with/appreciate. I feel like I’m always complaining, and I don’t want to be seen like that, I love my job. And don’t get me wrong, I love the lack of micromanagement in my job, I feel very stress-free when it comes to how I’m teaching my content/classroom management. I do, however, love feedback. I’m only in my second year, and I would love to know how to improve. I feel very much on my own with no supervision. We’re supposed to have mandatory observations 2-3 times a semester. I’ve had one five minute observation the second week of school and the only feedback I got was to change how I had the kids come into my room. Many days, 3rd-5th grade teachers skip specials for various reasons, which messes up my lesson plans with the kids. Testing is the highest priority at my school. I’m pulled out to test small groups, which happens a lot, especially because we do a lot of mock testing days. Which also messes up my lesson plans. My classroom is on the 3rd-5th hall, which means that even when I’m not out testing, everyone else around me is, so my classes have to be absolutely silent, which-you guessed it-messes up my lesson plans.
It really makes me feel like my content doesn’t matter to admin or other teachers at all. Which I partly get. It’s art. They’re focused on testing and art isn’t a part of the tests. But I think it’s still important.
And everything is so last minute. As if me, and gym/music, are an afterthought.
I just got an email about a complete change to our specials rotation schedule that is going to last for a month. No heads up, no discussion, just an email. Not even a personalized email sent to me, but the admin newsletter. I had to read to the bottom to even find out that they’d changed the schedule. The changes wouldn’t be that bad if it was just timing changes, but they have my 4th and 5th grade classes combined. Which- you GUESSed it- messes up my lesson plans.
I had an awesome lesson prepped for those kids that I’ve already told them about and they were excited for. One class already started on it. And now I have to totally ditch it. There’s not gonna be time to do it.
And the month of may is already a month of testing, so there’s no point in having actual projects planned for them because they rarely come to specials. I’m just so frustrated by the lack of… consideration. I’m treated like a glorified babysitter. And the other specials teachers are treated the same, but they don’t share my frustration. I feel like admin doesn’t think I should care about my content.
Yes, I can have the kids to short projects, but I really like to have more in depth projects for them that cater to what they enjoy and incorporate new techniques and materials. One-day projects don’t engage them the same.
And on top of all of this, I’m treated like a slave when it comes to banners and posters and decorations.
I canNOT tell you how many times I’ve been told to make a bannesign/poster or decorate for something the NEXT day. Or DAY OF. With no offer of having my classes covered. They expect me to either figure it out, or stay late after school- which is something I did last year but have absolutely refused to do this year because I was taken advantage of so horrendously.
I hand paint the banners/signs. Keep in mind these banners are 4’-6’ at least. It takes me hours. I don’t do things half assed, so if you put me on a job I’m going to do it to my fullest ability. I do not get paid for these banners. I have to beg to get my classes covered. A teacher asked me to make her a sign and then made the comment “oh I won’t have to pay you, right?” I died a little bit inside.
The assistant principal once had me do a full wall mural in 24 hours (I ended up having to work on it for 6 hours at home) and then physically changed part of my design the next day because “he wasn’t feeling it”. We had a father daughter dance and they had me help decorate and make 5 huge banners, customized (not simple), the day of. While I had classes.
I love my job. This is my passion. I adore my students. Which is why I’m so frustrated, I feel like I can’t even teach them. And I feel like I don’t matter. I barely exist. The only times I matter are when they need a banner or when they need a test proctor.
A very long rant, I’m sorry. I guess I’m wondering if anyone is experiencing anything similar? Or has before? Or if anyone has any advice- for how to deal with it personally and professionally.

2023.03.27 05:50 overoptimize The best iPad apps for students
Hey! I've seen a lot of posts asking for the "best ipad apps for students", "app recommendations for students", etc, and I wanted to give my $0.02.
Here's my personal list of the top 10 iPad apps for students (as a high school student myself):
I love GoodNotes—other than the occasional glitch, it's an incredible note-taking app.
I love the variety of templates, organized folder system, PDF editing, etc.
The full version does cost $8.99 to unlock, but I (and many others on this sub) highly recommend it.
If you absolutely don't want to pay the money for GoodNotes, CollaNote is one of the best free alternatives (and by free, I mean 100% free—there are no in-app purchases).
Compared to some of the other apps out there (cough, OneNote, cough), CollaNote is smoother and offers more features.
One cool feature is that CollaNote even offers Dark Mode! (this is actually something that isn't available on GoodNotes, though I believe it is available on Notability).
I've used Todoist as my primary to-do list app for a few months now (that's saying something—I'm the type of guy that likes to change apps pretty often).
For me, Todoist is the perfect app: the task organization system is pretty good, tasks sync across devices, and the app is smooth and simple to use.
There is a $4.99/mo subscription, though I've never felt the need to upgrade (don't worry, there aren't any ads).
Sigma Planner is another completely free app (yes, the name is a little funny). And like CollaNote, it beats out many freemium/paid apps on the App Store.
Sigma Planner is a planner app that somewhat resembles a to-do list app.
Users can create classes organized by quarters, trimesters, semesters, etc, and create tasks within them. The app also has a cool task prioritization feature where you can pick the urgency of a task to prioritize it accordingly.
Unlike CollaNote/Sigma Planner, Spark resembles Todoist's payment model: if you're a casual user, you won't need to upgrade (and there are no ads!).
I've used Spark as my main email app for years. I love it for the same reasons I love Todoist: it's simple, organized, and just works.
I rarely experience glitches and the app has the perfect combination of simplicity and advanced features.
Feyn is a pretty unknown app. But for students, it's a game-changer.
Most flashcard apps are typed (think apps like Quizlet, which is actually next on this list). Feyn, on the other hand, uses handwritten flashcards.
Like most of the apps on this list, Feyn has a decent folder-based organization system.
Feyn is also completely free :)
Every student knows what Quizlet is. You'll probably need it at some point if you're in high school or college, so you might as well download it.
SmartCards+ is kinda like Quizlet, but with one key difference: SmartCards+ uses
spaced repetition. If you follow the Ali Abdaal/Thomas Frank-led study niche, you know about the power of spaced repetition.
My favorite feature of SmartCards+ is that you can actually import flashcards from Quizlet into SmartCards+.
I use the free version of SmartCards+, though I've tried the paid version and it's a pretty good value (<$1.00/month). Unlike many of the apps on this list, however, the free version does have ads.
Notion is a banger app.
You can use it for almost any student-y task you can think of.
There is a pretty steep learning curve, but there are literally infinite possibilities once you learn how to use the app (I recommend videos by Thomas Frank and Ali Abdaal if you want to learn more about Notion).
Notion is like Todoist/Spark: there's a paid plan, but the vast majority of people don't need it (and again, no ads).
GoodLinks is probably my favorite Safari extension.
As a student, researching stuff for classes is pretty important. GoodLinks helps you save links with tags to read them later.
It costs $4.99, but it's so worth it.
Bonus: Dark Mode Extension Apps
I'm putting this as a general category because the app I currently use is no longer on the app store.
GET A DARK MODE EXTENSION APP. These apps turn Safari's "baby dark mode" into "true dark mode". As a student, your eyes will appreciate any money spent on these extensions lol.
---
Hopefully this helps any students out there. If you're interested in more stuff like this, I
write a free weekly newsletter about iPads. Thanks!
Adi

2023.03.27 05:49 verytastysquid Sony a6000 or fujifilm xt1?
For some background: I'm looking to purchase a higher quality small-ish mirrorless camera for general use that I can grow with as a noob photographer. My budget is only about $500 usd and through my research these two cameras seem like the best options for me. I can get an a6000 for easily under $400 with a kit lens while an xt1 is about $400 for just the body. I've heard that the xt1 produces better, more unique, images and I really like the film simulations so I'm wondering if that added extra cost is worth it over the a6000. Fuji glass also seems really expensive so I was thinking of just using vintage lenses until I saved up enough for a proper fuji one, not sure if its a good idea though. If anyone had any input or advice to break this tie it would be much appreciated. I'm also open to suggestions of other cameras.

2023.03.27 05:41 typically-me I really like how Voldemort’s ideology is so gradually introduced
Throughout the entire first book, Harry (and consequently the reader since we are seeing the world through Harry’s eyes) really doesn’t know anything about Voldemort’s actually ideology (that being anti muggle/muggle born and pure blood supremacy). He just knows that Voldemort is evil and murdered his parents and is obsessed with staying alive at all costs. Being only 11 years old, Harry has a very simplistic view of good and evil and doesn’t stop to question things too much. He never stops to wonder why Voldemort had so many followers. We get only a few small hints of the bigotry that exists in the wizarding world from Draco Malfoy, hints that an adult reader will likely pick up on as significant, but a kid Harry’s age could write off as just Malfoy being a nasty person rather than any sort of systemic issue.
Then in the second book we make big strides pretty immediately. We are introduced to Draco’s father and learn that he has the same hatred for muggles that Draco displays, and then the heir of Slytherin starts attacking muggle borns. Still though, Harry and friends don’t seem to really understand the scale of the problem at hand as indicated by the fact that they immediately suspect the Malfoys who are, from their naive perspective, the only people around who have a problem with muggle borns. And we of course kind of know that the Malfoys were in league with Voldemort, but the two pieces haven’t really been put together yet. It’s not until the reveal at the end of the book that the whole anti muggle movement first gets directly tied to Voldemort.
Even after this, Harry still doesn’t really fully realize exactly what Voldemort stands for - not up until the World Cup when he sees the death eaters torturing muggles for fun.
This is a really cool way to allow the reader’s experience to mirror Harry’s as he grows and matures. It would have been all too easy to introduce what Voldemort stood for from chapter 1 in no more than a few words, but this was much better. Voldemort starts out as this horrific supernatural boogeyman and then as the story develops morphs into something far more real and arguably more horrific for all that it is so very recognizable as the real evils that exist in our world.

2023.03.27 05:35 Historical_Diet7012 [IWantOut] 17M New Zealand -> Paris, France
I want to enroll in a 3 year university course in Paris next year. I am fortunate enough to live in New Zealand, so why leave my future up to chance and not be as ambitious as I can with it, whilst also exploring the world young?
Study plan
I want to study in a Parisian fashion design school because the ones in New Zealand will not set me up for the future I aspire to have. As well as this, connections and fashion culture in Paris make for a much more opportunistic backdrop.
I am planning to pursue as many scholarships as I can this year to lower the cost of college, which is estimated at 10,000-20,000 euros per year. The scholarship I want to work hard to obtain covers $10,000NZD (equal to about 5,700 euros) per year of college.
And since I am privileged enough to reside in NZ, why not choose to work as hard as I can to gain the best education I could have?
Language
I started learning French on Duolingo in January before even considering studying overseas, took a break for a few weeks, and currently I hold a streak of 60-something days. I practice at least half an hour every day. I've been reading increasingly complex children's books and I've been watching shows in French with English subtitles. I speak Spanish and English, so the parts of French grammar that seem unnecessary by native English speakers are easier to understand and pick up.
Visa
I am not sure if I want to live in Paris after the course ends. And student visas don't cover such a long period of time as such (3 year course duration), so I'd have to apply for a form of long term stay visa and renew it yearly.
Bank Account
I haven't done a lot of research on opening a bank account, but I don't assume it will be extremely difficult given the time I have to plan the move.
Accommodation / Expenses
I want to live in a studio apartment or even a 1 bedroom apartment if I get lucky.
I know of the accommodation struggle in popular cities such as Paris and am currently not really sure how to make the move. By this I mean where I would stay while I search for apartments. I could also look online but that is risky. I'd need knowledge on what makes real estate worth the price (eg. tips on infrastructure that prevents liabilities to the renter, availability of washing machine, bathroom, and those sorts of tips that prevent you from being 'scammed' or taken by surprise).
Expenses like electricity, water, entertainment services etc. are also to be considered.
How I plan to pay for all this - Obtaining a part time job relatively soon in NZ and save up. Also getting a part time job when I'm in Paris, or having my family pay a small portion of it. Scholarship money in NZ can be spent on anything, so that is also an option.
Insurance & Healthcare
Should be in the above category but it's more expensive. Currently not very sure if this is going to be a wall in moving overseas, as I don't think a part time job can cover so much.
That's all the major surface aspects of the situation. If I am blatantly wrong in anything I've written please let me know. Any response is highly appreciated, especially tips from your own experience and tips on sections that I don't know much about so far.
Thank you so much.

2023.03.27 05:29 twilighteveningsun I miss you both every single day
TL/DR- hellish experience with sickness and injury + euthanasia then hellish experience with adoption and return leaving massive void…I feel better writing this.
Some days I feel like you two are a distant memory, And I can look back on your photos and smile, I can look at your urns and paw prints and find some measure of comfort Whatever bitter measure of comfort is possible knowing you both were only 3 years old and then 14 months old.
Until it became Spring.
I lost you both in the winter, With the snow banks piled high, Winter flurries and blizzards coating the world in beautiful, sparking snow that hardly registered with me because I was spending all my energy trying to move forward.
Then time goes slower, life finds a bit of meaning and then the birds come back The sun lingers longer at night The smell of earth and melting snow Fills the air and shoots of wildflowers start surfacing Each day growing more in the sun Snow banks have melted to reveal last falls decaying leaves
I walk the remaining pup in evening twilight and everything is such a painful reminder
You’re not here. The season has changed and I have left you both behind.
I tried to fill the missing parts by adopting a dog. I was ready, I researched your breed, I researched where you came from, I found you by chance, you warmed up to me and my existing pup. You were not a replacement, you were your own dog. For the first time in months, I was happy.
You quickly befriended us. You were doing so well with your training. Your were learning routines. Had careful introductions. Started to get used to a crate.
I thought maybe this is the dog I will be able to keep. This is the dog that will make it. I put you on a puppy schedule even though you were a rebellious teenager. I focused all my energy into helping you adjust to a new life. You were not aware of your large size but you had such a good heart.
Your previous home knew nothing of this kind of aggression. I asked about your history. I even did meet and greets with you. My other dog did meet and greets with you. You were listed as “friendly with people and dogs”.
Until you decided that I am not allowed to be shared. With anyone. Not family, not friends, not even my existing dog. As soon as I am near you, you treat everyone differently. It started slowly and the warning signs were there over time but kept being dismissed. I was told it was just an “adjustment period” and he was “stressed” but I was noticing gaps in your training and you we’re severely under socialized. Not your fault. We did the decompression and backyard time only.
Strangers? Off limits. Stopping to talk to someone 30m away? Off limits. You growled. My brain is going positive reinforcement? place training+ muzzle? Sudden movements meant you flipped into growl and bark mode. Loud noises and you flipped into growl and bark mode. I’m thinking afraid? Counter conditioning? How long?
Even my own dog, who you did slow and careful introductions - I’m aware of the 3:3:3 rule- you suddenly stood and stiffly blocked his way. I’m thinking baby gate? Good treats when both are in the room with me? Place training? Reassess with new dog on drag line at all times still?
I am already mapping out in my head how to make you feel safe, how to make others feel safe around you, how to make you stop hurting yourself in a crate, how to help you feel ok being alone for short times and I tried it and I thought we were making headway.
Then you nearly bit a family member for standing up beside me. This was someone not 5 min ago you were outside playing happily with while I watched from the window.
That’s when I knew. This was not going to work. You are afraid, you are protective/resource guarding and you are insecure and you are going to break my heart and my small dog is not safe.
An friendly off leash dog calmly approached us and you growled with all lips curled back and I realized - you need to be muzzled. This is not going to work.
I don’t have the emotional capability left to train/manage your resource guarding/feaaggression when I can’t “trade” me. You don’t even want treats or toys. People can’t even toss you treats. I don’t have the emotional bandwidth for find a behaviourist to deal with the sudden surge of resource guarding or fear based aggression. Truthfully- I have no idea what I’m even looking at but it’s something that needs professional intervention and is above my skills. And I have tried.
I was told friendly, sociable, confident dog. You have some much work ahead of you. Work I can’t put in. Maybe at one point I could have done it. But not now. I’m tired.
So I gave you back to whatever fate awaited you and disclosed everything that I saw. For that I am sorry. I don’t know what happened to you. I fear what happened to you. It’s put me to a pretty bleak place.
Maybe I should have given the new dog more time. Maybe I should have managed him better. Maybe I never should have got him in the first place. But how do you curtail resource guarding when YOU are the resource. What to do with a dog so scared/resource guarding that he will escalate to a bite so fast aside from keep him out of that situation or manage it. I realized my little dog was not safe around him and my mind was then made up. That dog needed work and I feel horrible I was not able to do it and may have even contributed to his behavior.
I wish all the events of the last 5 months didn’t happen. I wish one day I will stop being sad and angry all the time but I don’t think that’s going to be any time soon.
I feel even worse giving that dog back because maybe I could have made it work. But at what cost.
If you read this far thanks for reading. I just needed to put this into words. Im just feeling defeated. I am not going to adopt or get a puppy again I’m going to let the dog I have live the rest of his life without more changes and maybe we can find some happiness.
Please know I am aware dogs from rescues and humane societies will have issues and need decompression and structure and training. I just wish this turned out differently is all.

2023.03.27 05:28 harry-jg Best Free VPN for Instagram
Ah, Instagram. The ultimate escape from the humdrum of everyday life, a digital world where people share their lives in pictures and videos. But what do you do when your school, workplace, or even government blocks your access to this beautiful world? Fear not, my friends, for the solution is simpler than you think: VPN.
A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a magical tool that encrypts all the traffic to and from your device and bounces it through a server location of your choice. In simpler terms, it hides your true location and makes it appear as if you are in a different physical location altogether. So, if you're in China and the government is watching your every move, using a VPN will make it seem like you're chilling in Bali, sipping on a Pina Colada.
But wait, there's more! A VPN can also help you bypass pesky restrictions set by network administrators. So, the next time you're sitting in class, pretending to take notes while secretly scrolling through Instagram, a VPN will keep your activity hidden from the watchful eyes of your teacher. It's like having a cloak of invisibility, but for the internet.
And that's not all! A VPN can also grant you access to geo-restricted services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. So, if you're tired of seeing the same old content every time you log in, a VPN can transport you to a different country, with a whole new library of movies and TV shows to explore.
Are you tired of being deprived of Instagram's endless feeds of puppies, food, and selfies just because of your location? Do you want to explore the world of social media without any restrictions? Well, my friends, it's time to whip out your magic wand: VPN.
Don't worry, you don't have to be a tech genius to use a VPN. It's as easy as 1-2-3. First, select a VPN that suits your needs. We recommend NordVPN for its reliability and user-friendly interface. Second, download and install the app on your device. Third, connect to a server in a location of your choice, and voila! You now have access to Instagram no matter where you are.
With a VPN, you can enjoy the freedom of browsing Instagram without any restrictions. You can finally stalk your crush without the fear of being caught by your school's network administrator, or enjoy a quick scroll through Instagram during your office break without worrying about your boss looking over your shoulder.
And if you're still having trouble accessing Instagram, don't worry. Try clearing your browser's cookies and reloading the app. And if that still doesn't work, contact your VPN provider for help. They'll be more than happy to assist you with any troubleshooting.
So, don't let geographical boundaries limit your social media experience. Get yourself a VPN and unlock the full potential of Instagram.
NordVPN
Let's be real, Instagram is not just an app. It's a portal to a world full of possibilities. But with great power comes great responsibility, and in this case, the responsibility of keeping your online activity secure. That's where NordVPN comes in, our top recommendation for an Instagram VPN.
NordVPN boasts an impressive network of servers, with over 5,000 servers in 60 countries. And the best part? It offers the fastest VPN speeds we've ever seen. Plus, you can customize your server preferences, such as P2P and double VPN. And if you're worried about the Chinese government's VPN blocks, NordVPN has got you covered with its large set of obfuscated servers.
But NordVPN doesn't stop there. It secures your web traffic with 256-bit AES encryption, in conjunction with perfect forward secrecy. And with DNS leak protection and a kill switch in all apps except for Android, you can rest easy knowing that your online activity is protected from prying eyes. And to top it all off, NordVPN keeps no logs whatsoever.
But what about device compatibility, you ask? Fear not, my friends. NordVPN has got apps for Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, and Android, so you can enjoy Instagram on any device. And with a single subscription granting access to six devices, you can share the love with your friends and family.
SurfsharkVPN
Let's face it, not all of us have the budget to splurge on a fancy VPN. But that shouldn't stop us from exploring the wonderful world of Instagram. Enter Surfshark, the low-cost hero that adeptly unblocks Instagram and a ton of other platforms.
Surfshark may be low-cost, but it certainly doesn't skimp on features. It has a broad network of servers, with roughly 1,700 servers in over 60 countries. And with Surfshark's NoBorders mode, you can easily bypass network restrictions and enjoy Instagram to your heart's content.
But what about privacy and security, you ask? Well, my friends, Surfshark is a true no-logs provider, backed by strong online security features. You can expect military-grade encryption, perfect forward secrecy, a kill switch on all platforms, and protection against leaks. In other words, Surfshark has got your back.
And here's the best part: Surfshark imposes no limit on the number of devices you can connect at one time. That means you can share Surfshark with your entire family, your best friends, your pet, and your imaginary friend (we won't judge).
Surfshark has apps available for Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, and Android. So, no matter what device you're using, Surfshark has got you covered.
ExpressVPN
You're scrolling through Instagram, enjoying the endless feeds of cats, memes, and motivational quotes. Suddenly, you feel a chill down your spine. What if someone's watching you? What if your online activity is being monitored? Fear not, my friends, for ExpressVPN is here to save the day.
ExpressVPN uses rugged encryption protocols, has fast internet speeds, and works reliably in China (with no special setup required). With a vast server network comprising 3,000 servers spread across 94 countries, ExpressVPN's 'Smart Location' feature selects the fastest connection based on your current location, ensuring a seamless Instagram experience.
But ExpressVPN doesn't just stop at speed and reliability. Its encryption standards are top-notch, leveraging 256-bit AES with perfect forward secrecy by default. And with a kill switch (dubbed a network lock) in the desktop apps, your web traffic will be frozen if the connection drops, and leak protection is built into all apps. So, you can enjoy Instagram without any fear of prying eyes.
And here's the best part: A single subscription grants access to five devices simultaneously. So, whether you're using an Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, or MacOS device, ExpressVPN has got you covered.
PrivateVPN
When it comes to VPNs, bigger is not always better. Enter PrivateVPN, the small but mighty underdog that is a worthy contender as an Instagram VPN.
PrivateVPN may only operate around 150 servers in 60 countries, but it prioritizes providing access to blocked platforms and services. And if you're worried about using it in restrictive countries like China, PrivateVPN has got you covered with its "Stealth VPN" mode, which obfuscates your traffic to ensure it's undetectable.
But don't let its small size fool you. PrivateVPN employs military-grade encryption along with perfect forward secrecy by default. Its apps have built-in leak protection, and the Windows client includes a kill switch. And best of all, PrivateVPN keeps no logs whatsoever.
Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android, and desktop clients for Windows and macOS. And with the ability to connect up to six devices at a time, you can share PrivateVPN with your whole family and all of your friends.
Unleashing the Secret Methodology: How We Found the Best VPNs for Instagram
Have you ever wondered how the best VPNs for Instagram are chosen? Well, my friends, wonder no more. We've got the inside scoop on the secret methodology that led us to the VPNs as listed in this post.
First and foremost, servers worldwide are crucial in unblocking Instagram, as well as finding a fast server close to your physical location. All of the VPNs we've covered offer large server networks, some with thousands of servers across dozens of countries, including the US, UK, Australia, and Japan.
Server speed is particularly important if you're streaming content on Instagram. VPNs offering fast connections and unlimited bandwidth (such as those listed in this post) allow you to watch without issues such as lag and buffering. Our speed tests helped us find the fastest VPNs for use with Instagram.
But what about unblocking? Instagram is blocked in China, as well as in many schools and workplaces. We've found the VPNs that are most reliable when it comes to bypassing restrictions. This was achieved by testing each VPN against a variety of region-locked websites and services, including Instagram.
Of course, security is a top priority when it comes to browsing Instagram. A VPN that offers high-end encryption (256-bit AES), protection from DNS leaks, and a kill switch is essential. And if you'd like an extra layer of security, NordVPN and Surfshark both offer Double VPN servers.
Privacy is also crucial. Without a VPN, your ISP (and possibly your government) can see what you're doing online. To keep your Instagram and other browsing activity private, you need a VPN that encrypts your data and operates a no-logs policy. We've looked at more than 140 VPN logging policies to find the very best.
But let's not forget ease of use. All of the VPNs we've listed make it easy to get started, and 24/7 live chat and email support is at hand should you need it. Plus, most of the VPNs offer the option of browser extensions for even quicker access to servers.
And last but not least, we feel that the best VPNs for Instagram offer excellent value for money. From frequently running special deals to VPN discount coupons provided in this post, you can save even more on the price of a subscription. Plus, all of the VPNs listed come with a risk-free money-back guarantee.

2023.03.27 05:28 Wendywen312 The chromaticity of the led light, the chromatic aberration of the led screen
The chromaticity of the led light, the chromatic aberration of the led screen LED display technology from monochrome displays in the early 1980s, to dual-color displays in the late 1980s, to tri-primary (full-color) displays in the mid-1990s, until today we have a wide range of technologies in the field of flat-panel displays. Discusses multi-primary (greater than three-primary) processing techniques. The chromaticity processing technology of the
LED display screen ranges from the selection of the most basic primary color wavelength, to the deployment of the color temperature of the white field, to the color space conversion processing for improving the color reproduction, and the chromaticity uniformity processing for improving the image quality, until Today we adopt multi-primary color (greater than three primary colors) processing in order to expand the color gamut and reproduce more natural colors. Various chromaticity processing technologies run through the development history of
LED display screens and become one of the core technologies in the comprehensive discipline of
LED display screens. The choice of base color wavelength
LED displays are widely used in all walks of life, and there are different requirements for the primary color wavelength of LEDs in different application places. Some of the selection of
LED primary color wavelengths are to achieve good visual effects, and some are to meet people’s needs. Habits, and some are industry standards, national standards and even international standards. For example, the selection of the primary color wavelength of the green tube in the full-color LED display; in the early days, people generally used yellow-green
LEDs with a wavelength of 570nm. Although the cost is low, the color gamut of the display is small, the color reproduction is poor, and the brightness is low. After choosing a pure green tube with a wavelength of 525nm, the color gamut of the display is nearly doubled, and the degree of color reproduction is greatly improved, which greatly improves the visual effect of the display. For another example, on the securities market display screen, people are usually used to using red to indicate a stock price rise, green to indicate a stock price decline, and yellow to indicate a flat market. In the transportation industry, the national standard strictly stipulates that the blue and green bands are allowed to pass, and the red band is forbidden. Therefore, the selection of base color wavelength is one of the important links of
LED display. Adjustment of white color coordinates
White field color coordinate adjustment is one of the most basic technologies of
full-color LED display. However, in the mid-1990s, due to the lack of industry standards and basic testing methods, the white point color coordinates were usually determined only by human eyes and feelings, resulting in serious color cast and randomness of white point color temperature. With the promulgation of industry standards and the completion of testing methods, many manufacturers have begun to standardize the color matching process of full-color screens. However, due to the lack of theoretical guidance for color matching, some manufacturers often adjust the color coordinates of hundreds of fields by sacrificing the gray level of some primary colors, and the overall performance cannot be improved.
Chromaticity uniformity treatment
The chromaticity uniformity of
LED display screens has always been a major problem for people in the industry. It is generally believed that the uneven brightness of
LEDs can be corrected at a single point to improve the uniformity of brightness. The uneven chromaticity cannot be corrected, and can only be improved by subdividing and screening the
LED color coordinates.
As people’s requirements for
LED display screens are getting higher and higher, only subdividing and screening
LED color coordinates can no longer satisfy people’s critical eyes. It is achievable to carry out comprehensive correction processing on the display screen to improve the uniformity of chromaticity. of.
We found that even the same grade of
LED of the first international brand has large wavelength deviation and color saturation deviation, and the deviation range greatly exceeds the human eye’s threshold for distinguishing green color difference. Therefore, it is important to perform color uniformity correction. meaningful.
In the CIE1931 chromaticity diagram, according to the law of the center of gravity, we found that any point in the range of G (□ abcd) green mixed with a certain proportion of red and blue can adjust the color coordinates of the mixed color to the straight line cR and the intersection point O of the straight line dB.
Although the chromaticity uniformity can be greatly improved. However, there is a noticeable drop in color saturation after correction. At the same time, another prerequisite for using red and blue to correct the uniformity of green chromaticity is that the red, green and blue
LEDs in the same pixel should be distributed as intensively as possible so that the color mixing distance of red, green and blue can be as close as possible to achieve better results. Effect. At present, the
LED uniform distribution method usually used in the industry will bring confusion to the chromaticity uniformity correction. In addition, how to measure the color coordinates of tens of thousands of red, green and blue
LEDs is also an extremely difficult problem. We gave hints about this.

2023.03.27 05:28 YourAngryFather Cost to raise and build under highset house (Ipswich, QLD)?
I'm looking to buy a small 3 bedroom house to raise and build a second 3 bedroom unit underneath. Anyone know what this would cost given the high building costs at the moment? The house is 97m2, and we'd be looking at basic (but functional and fully compliant) fitout. Currently no concrete slab or plumbing underneath.

2023.03.27 05:26 GalaxZekrom Lost charger at SUB study area
Hi this might be a long shot but I just found out I lost my phone charger and one possibility where I might have lost it is the study area near the MBC food court at the SUB and wonder if anyone might have seen it. It is an charger from Ankef and should be white and about as small as the 5W charge used to come in box with new iPhone. The phone charger doesn’t cost much but it’s a gift so I really want to try finding it.

2023.03.27 05:25 squashedfrog92 Bought a car from a dodgy dealer
We bought a Kia Ceed in December from a dealership who delivered to us in the dark. We did a small test drive in our close (they said not to do more as not insured) and paid around £2400.
Within 24 hours the service light had come on. Partner contacted dealership who said they’d add an extra 6 months to the warranty.
We got the car checked by our usual garage a week later due to work schedules, who said it should never have been on the road at all and barely allowed my partner to drive it home to us (10 mins max drive). They estimated all round repairs to cost around 4k.
Contacted the dealership guy again and he told him what they’d said, he said even Kia wouldn’t cost that much and his garage would fix it under the warranty.
A few weeks later we got the car back, took it for an independent MOT and it failed, by a LOT. The garage said even the work that had been done wasn’t up to scratch, and that there were still a lot of problems that would cost well over the value of the car to fix.
Initially my partner messaged the dealership explaining the issues. They have not responded. We’ve sent a recorded delivery letter explaining we want a refund and why (and that we were willing to adapt refund price for mileage used) well over a working week ago and still have had no contact.
Are we now legally entitled for a chargeback refund and they can argue with the discount for miles driven after the fact?
We really don’t have the money to afford being this out much, we borrowed from my dad just to get his car because our usual car was out of service and haven’t been able to drive the Kia for months so have been doubly out of pocket.
Sorry to ask for help again so soon but we’re hoping to go to the bank tomorrow which may be relevant. This is in England.

2023.03.27 05:25 Correct_Big434 We were treated differently.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Child abuse Domestic violence Dad's side of the family
I feel like i need to share this with someone once my friends confirmed my childhood was not normal at all. And in fact, not something a child should be going through. I grew up in a small family-friendly village back in Africa where my family stayed with my dad's side of the family. I was brought up with my cousins and so i never felt alone physically because i did have them to play with outside and even in the family house, my cousins used to be good kids unfortunately raised by evil parents. My aunts would make it known that my siblings and i were on a lower level than our cousins. My sister pointed out this is all because my mom is somali while my dad's side of the family are all fully arabs therefore they always disliked my mother from the beginning. I was the darkest from my siblings (brown skinned) which earned me the nickname 'black cat' and this already shows how they feel about black people. Whenever we got invited to a birthday party or a wedding my aunts would cake my face and hands with a light foundation which later on became a habit that i would be doing on my own, i never went outside without it. My mom's side of the family were all in US so we really had no other family than the one we live with, it was hard to escape them. My dad worshipped his mother which made it even harder for my mom to stand up to any of them, they always ran to my dad if she did. Which resulted my mom getting beaten all night. There was a time my older brother's friends were outside playing ball when they witnessed my dad beating my mom with a pipe. This was going on for a while till i turned 7 and my mom pulled me and my siblings in a room before locking the door (my dad was at work). She sat us down on the floor and told us how she secretly kept in contact with her family in Texas behind my dad's back, they are willing to take us in over there. My mom said she has to go first since she just got her Visa and would need to get some papers done over there before we could follow her, we were happy to hear this. The next week came when my mom's big move was happening, i remember the words she was repeating were "Do not upset them." My youngest brother was 2 that day, i was 7, my oldest brother was 12 and my sister was 13. We cried more than the baby did. My dad did not bother to leave his room to say goodbye to her, he was fuming but he did not dare to do anything after knowing my mom's family was involved. My mom was in Texas for 2 years if you dont count the 2 week visit she did between those 2 years, we had no other way to talk to her other than on my dad's phone when he called her. And he barely came home from "work". Those 2 years were hell. My dad took us off of school a month after my mom left because he was behind on the school fee. My sister's friend said her mom saw my youngest brother roaming around by himself outside and she took him in her house because she was scared the construction workers would do something to him, his diaper was also dripping with feces. After hearing that i was glad we didn't have to go school because he needed all our attention 24/7, our aunts and uncles (maybe dad too) seemed to not care about him. While our cousins were going to school in the morning, my 13 year old sister would be the one to take care of THEIR little siblings including our little brother. She was taught by aunts how to change diapers, comb hair, dress them, feed them but they never trusted her to bathe them (she would bathe me and my little brother together). I picked up a bad habit of stealing at the age of 7. I never stole from my dad because i used to fear him but i stole money from my aunts and even my grandma and with that money i would buy myself a can of Coca cola and new pink barbie slippers, i remember i was the one who got my brother his first very own soccer ball (with the stolen money lol). This didn't go for long before i was caught and of course they told my dad, he locked me outside of the house for a long time before coming out with a belt (guess what happened next). After a few more months my mom finally called again and before my dad picked up he told us to act normal and tell her that we're still in school and thats exactly what we did, my oldest sister cried endlessly on the phone and my mom thought its because of how much we missed her. The next day my dad brought a new disney movie CD and me and my siblings including our cousins gathered in my dad's room to watch it since he was the one in the whole house with his own tv in his room. The movie was turned on and everyones eyes was gleud to the box tv, i remember my sister nudged me and showed me my dad's phone. He was in the toilet. I quietly asked her what she is planning to do and i thought it was something small like see what kinda things dad usually watches or see who he is texting and calling but no my sister tells me she is gonna text mom everything about what has been happening since she's been gone. The school situation, my sister being treated like a maid, no one watching over our little brother, my oldest brother being beaten by my dad on a daily and more i can't mention on here. I was scared. i genuinely thought my sister would die that day if we ever got caught . But i told her to do it and at first we struggled to unlock my dads phone but my sister managed to do it and while my cousins and brother were busy watching the movie, i was busy watching my sister type a long paragraph to my mom. She ended it with "I love you mom but please don't tell dad" and quickly sent it before deleting everything and putting the phone back in its place. A few days passed and my mom was back, she came to visit us without informing anyone. After a few fake 'welcome back, we missed u' talks and hugs were exchanged between my mom and her in-laws, my mom took us to our room again and opened a huge bag. It was filled with gifts and new clothes for us. I was more happy about the toys and remember telling my mom "Finally i will be able to play with my cousins." She asked about the text and my older siblings explained everything, that day was the first time my mom cried in front of us. When monday came, my mom took us all with her and we went to school. She begged our principal to take us back in and told him she had no idea about any of this and my principal believed her but she had to pay the money that my dad failed to pay and my mom did it right there and then, before we left my mom turned back around and showed our principal my youngest sibling. "I keep on hearing about my son walking outside by himself in the morning. I don't know what to do." My principal told her she doesnt need to worry anymore and she can bring my little brother to school for free he will put him in the small kids class. That day we went back to school after not being able to go for 7 months. Before my moms visit was over, she gave my sister a new phone. She said we don't have to wait much longer before joining her. 17 more months passed and finally we heard back from Texas. Our dad will be able to follow us a week after so we had a head start and my mom sent her brother to take us. That day it was my in-laws who were willing to pack our bags. I was 9, my little brother was 4, my oldest brother was 14 and my sister was 15. My grandma told me to not forget about them and leaving that house i wish i could've said "FUCK YOU!" As soon as we stepped a foot in Dallas, my mom cut off all ties with my dad and his family before cancelling my dad's ticket. Never seen them again since.
