2023.06.09 06:22 EasyRefrigerator2363 We think we need to submit Victor impact panels to doctors who refused to provide us care.
These doctors at the hospitals and Pain management sometimes have no experience or even training when it comes to what actual pain is like.
They have money, power, respect that cannot be challenged because they will simply close their door on people's faces.
They do not see how we wait in agony for our appointments. Just to be told they don't actually want to help because the "climate has changed" as their ready excuse for not treating our pain
They don't have to take medicines that are more harmful then the ones they could prescribe.
They don't have to be gaslighted. They can simply walk away. Some of us have to roll away in a wheel chair.
I think we should all submit our victim statements to these doctors so they have see the damage they're doing. They want praise and some deserve the reward. But what about the other doctors who gaslight and neglect the patients.

2023.06.09 06:22 Revan553 Just want to take a moment to appreciate that flowers and rainbows trigger the absolute ruck out the tough freedom of speech community
I know reddit is generally accepting but it wasn't always and it's nice to see the change in acceptance from fringe to now the norm over the course of my playtime.
If any of you played when mod wolf was around, he got absolutely torched by a large percentage of the community for adding a rainbow scarf into the game half a decade ago. And now those people are the ones that get torched.
Back in I think 2014, I would duo corp with someone who was trans and they got the absolute shit bullied out of them by several clans for being trans. They barely ever talked in cc as well. Nowdays, it's pretty nice to know people like them probably won't experience that level of normalised behaviour.

2023.06.09 06:22 Intelligent_Air9952 Turning my photography into a job
I have the photography experience. I’ve shot film, digital, portraits, landscape, documentary, fashion, all that good shit.
How do I turn that into a job?
I have fellow classmates that already had a decent following before they even went to school. And now they’re making bank doing exactly what I have the ability to do.
I know it’s hard to even make a living through art but I’m willing to do anything even for a few bucks.
I have a decent following and I know a lot of people in the Boston photography scene but what does it take to get people to come to me for pictures.
I can post all the pictures and stories I want but how do I get customers?

2023.06.09 06:22 Calm-Shape-2592 The impossible decision
I’ve haven’t ever particularly wanted kids, but I’ve become increasingly ambivalent as I’ve gotten older (31 now). I recently rekindled a relationship with my ex fiancé. He was my first love and we were together for 4 years, but it ended 9 years ago. We both grew up a lot and healed from that break and went our separate ways, and had other serious relationships. Recently (past few months), we have rekindled the old flame and gotten back together in what feels like a new relationship with a new, albeit familiar, man that I still love.
I found out that I’m pregnant 10 days ago. I have no idea what to do.
The logical part of my brain says no. We’re not married, we both have quite a bit of credit card debt, I can barely barely afford my own life, I still live with my most recent ex, and I don’t qualify for health insurance through my job, the economy is going to hell. My heart says maybe. Maybe I should take the risk, accept the challenge, bear the responsibility. My partner wants to go ahead. He wants to step up and provide and make it work. He wants to marry me and take care of us. My heart likes that.
I never thought I’d be faced with such a difficult decision. For the record, I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago and was told I probably wouldn’t be able to have children. I have been off hormonal birth control for several years now. I was unable to afford Paraguard IUD out of pocket and apparently plan B failed me.
I have only told two closest friends, one of which is pro-baby and the other is anti-baby. My awesome parents have been eagerly awaiting grandparenthood for years and I think they would be great. They also live nearby.
So I have to make an impossible decision which is made worse by the pressure of time. I only have weeks to decide whether or not to abort and I’d have to cross state lines to do so. Abortion is almost unfathomable for me right now, maybe it’s the hormones?
I don’t know what to do. I feel my partner and I are both optimistic people that like challenges and can make the best of what happens in our lives. But I’m being given a choice. And right now I feel like both options are wrong choices.
Any help, advice, or encouragement appreciated. PS I already went to /regretfulparents and didn’t like it there at all.

2023.06.09 06:22 BrauerGames Goodbye all
I am killing my self tonight. I don’t want to write a long ass story because it would delude me from killing myself. Everyday just gets worse and worse. My life is fucked. I hope I was able to inspire some people throughout my life as I’ve tried, but I’ve been shit on and fucked over too many times on top of the amount of shit I got from my mother I haven’t seen in 7 years and my father. Sorry but not sorry it has to be this way because the planet is better off without me anyways ✌️. Only god knows how much bullshit I’ve dealt with.

2023.06.09 06:21 sadnesslaughs Though the Demon King likes to think of himself as evil, his idea of evil is.... PG-13, for the lack of a better word. Compared to the medieval atrocities of the previous human kings, it's one hell of an improvement.
“You dare steal from the king, peasant?” The Demon King screeched, flames erupting from the empty eye sockets of the skulls on his throne. He pulled himself to his feet. The King digging his boney fingers into the empty eye sockets, pulling himself up. “I guess I need to make an example of you. How is our castle wall looking today, Xea?”
The buff demonic guard crossed her arms, pretending to think about the condition of the wall. After a minute of tossing her from head side to side, she grinned, showing those dangerously sharp teeth.
“I believe the castle wall is spotless. Not a cloud in the sky, either. The peasants will get a good view of the torment you’re going to put this man through. Will I make the arrangements, my lord?”
“Please, please no. I needed food for my family. I wasn’t about going to steal anything other than food. Please. They need me.”
“Oh, they need you? Did you hear that, Xea? His family needs him. Gather his family then.”
“As you instruct, my lord. I will make sure they join him.”
The man’s face went pale, falling to his knees. The strength in his body getting sapped by the news that his family would join him on the wall. His head hit against the hard stone floor, sobbing at the feet of the Demon King, who appeared unmoved.
“Take the idiot with you, too. He’s getting my floor dirty.”
A few hours passed, and they gathered the family on top of the castle walls. The peasants down below didn’t appear too frightened. Only looking on in confusion, never having seen the king make such a spectacle like this. Had their luck run out? Perhaps the Demon king was going to put them on pikes like the previous king had done? Leaving them to rot in the sun as a message to all the other villagers.
“Greetings, my lowly boot lickers. Today, I caught one of your villagers stealing from me. Not only is this an offence against me, it’s also an offence against my guard’s honor. Poor Xea, felt horrible knowing a human snuck past our defences, didn’t you, Xea?”
“Oh, I did. The shame’s awful, only their screams will make me feel better. So, my lord? Will you please do the honors of making me feel a little better?” Xea asked, putting her hand on the father’s shoulder, glaring at the family. “I don’t enjoy being embarrassed.” Her grip got a little tighter, pushing against his joint, threatening to pop it. “Just kidding.” She said, releasing it.
“Of course, I treat my soldiers with kindness and my thieves with a glimpse of hell. Ready to witness hell?” The Demon King walked towards the edge of the wall, holding his arms up.
“WAIT, PLEASE NOT MY FAMILY. KILL ME, KILL ME AND LET THEM LIVE.” The man went back to sobbing, even though his family appeared to be taking the chaos rather well. Even the smallest of the children didn’t appear scared. Instead, she reached over and gave her father a pat on the back.
“It’s ok. Mr. Demon isn’t bad. He’s just confused. That’s what the villagers said.” She whispered.
Xea rolled her eyes when she overheard that. Her pointed ears twitching as she crouched behind the pair, putting her face between the two. “Whatcha talking about? Care to share that with me? I hope you weren’t talking about my glorious leader.”
That shut the pair up, as they went back to looking at the village. The Demon King raised his arms, and the Earth began rattling. The ground shaking as though hundreds of imps would soon burst from the soil. Villagers were getting nervous now, rushing to make sure their cattle were secure as things shook around them.
When the king lowered his arms, the ground stopped shaking, leaving everyone bewildered. Had he done something? A villager stepped onto his farming land, getting smashed onto his back by a barrage of carrots. The carrots shooting from the soil, littering the land. All the farms shared a similar fate, harvests sprouting all around them.
“Hahahaha. Now you will have all the food you want. Good luck getting rid of all those rotting vegetables. How will you deal with all the dangers that come with that?”
“Excellent work, my king.” Xea clapped, even if she missed her usual role of torturing souls in hell. Something about doing acts like this was fun to her. Did she just enjoy scaring the peasants before the deception revealed itself? Enjoying that moment of utter fear they felt in their souls?
“Wait. I don’t get it?” The man said, wiping his eyes. “Isn’t this a good-“
“HERALD. Shut up!” His wife hissed, giving him a small smack on the back of the head.
The villagers all fell to the ground, acting as though an invisible arrow had struck them all in the knee. Some rubbed dirt on their faces to look more pitiful, while others pretended to cry.
“SAVE US GOD. This foul man has cursed us.” One wept.
“How evil can you be?” another called out.
“Hey John, can I borrow your hoe?” One whispered, using this time to ask for a favor.
The Demon King turned away, walking back to his throne room. “Xea, mind throwing them back into the village for me? I’m bored now.”
“Certainly, my lord.” Xea raised her hand, shooting a wave of air at the family, sending them hurtling over the side of the wall. Just as they were about to hit the ground, they stopped. Being gently put onto the floor with Xea’s abilities.
“Again! Again!” The little girl cheered, looking up at the demonic guard who was peering over the wall.
“Shush dear. You weren’t meant to enjoy it.” The mother said, covering her child’s mouth. She couldn’t help but smile at Xea. For such an intimidating demon, she appeared to be a big softie, too.
“I don’t get it. What they did was a good act? Shouldn’t they have put my head on a spike or got a bunch of horses to run over my body?” Herald said, scratching his head.
“You’re new here, right? We should have told you this earlier. The demon kings a little backwards in his ruling. He thinks he is doing evil acts, but most of the times he’s giving us a smack on the forehead or something equally soft. This is the first time in a while he’s done a good act.” The villager explained.
“So, he’s a good ruler?”
“Yes, don’t let him know that, though. I wouldn’t want him to copy our last king.”
“That guard of his was kind to let us down. Maybe I’ll bake her something. Do you think she likes cakes?” Herald’s wife asked, putting an arm around her husband.
Meanwhile, Xea was licking her lips as she went to the throne room, hoping she was going to get that cake that was promised. When she got to the throne room, she bowed before the Demon King.
“Sir, you know you’re doing righteous acts, correct?”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? I know what I’m doing is good. I was the king of hell.”
“May I ask why you are choosing to rule like this, then?”
“Boredom, mainly. I came to Earth fully prepared to put this village through hell. I had all these ideas that would make them suffer. Then I saw the previous kings, each one a waste of humanity’s potential. All these people knew was horror. What more could I do to a world already filled with hate and bloodshed? So, I’m going to give them two hundred years of peace. Then let them handle whatever comes after that.”
“I see, so you plan to get their hopes up, only to let humanity bring itself down again when you leave. You would get to see their torment without even having to lift a finger. You could watch it all happen from hell. That’s so devilish, my king.”
“It is. Though, I will admit. I’m not disliking my time being gentle. Even a king of hell enjoys some change in his life. We have both spent hundreds of years tormenting souls. We should enjoy our vacation.”
“Are you suggesting I treat this as a vacation?”
“I’m suggesting you allow yourself to interact with the villagers. Befriend them, join in their festivities. Enjoy seeing humanity at its best, before it all comes crashing down.”
“I’ll do that, sir. Thank you.”

2023.06.09 06:20 sunmarsh Dealing with rejection
I don't know that I need a response to this, but I felt like I needed to get it off my chest. I'm posting it here because I thought y'all might understand more than the allos would. For context, I'm a homoromantic ace guy.
I met this guy last October on an ace-based dating server and we've been exchanging messages since then. He's one of the most gentle, kind, empathetic, honest, and sensitive guys I've ever met. He's really easy to talk to and I feel like we have really similar conversational styles. It's like we operate on the same wavelength. I feel like we have similar values and ways of seeing the world.
He describes himself as homosensual and has never been in a relationship. He has also never experienced romantic attraction (but does not consider himself aromantic) and is asexual. Physical touch is very important to him and he has told me that if he's not able to find a partner he's seriously considering hiring a male escort just to feel the touch of another man.
I started developing romantic feelings for him after a few months (do note that we live on opposite sides of the country and have never met in person). I told him that I 'liked him' in January, but he said that he didn't have any romantic feelings for me, and wasn't sure if or when he'd develop them. About two weeks ago, I broached the subject again, and in so many words asked him to be my boyfriend.
He told me that he knew nothing about relationships (not having been in one himself) but felt that it wouldn't be right/the relationship would be destined to fail if the people in the relationship didn't experience a mutual attraction, and it would also be unfair to me not to have someone feel for me the way that I felt for him.
Based on previous conversations I've had with him, I get the feeling that he is very attached to this (imo, very amatonormative) idea that for a relationship to succeed, both parties have to be 'in love' with each other, and so he is holding out for that person. As an alloromantic person, this makes sense to me... but... I must admit I feel like he's aromantic or at the very least, demiromantic. I have not told him this, because it's not my place to tell anyone what their orientation is, but it just makes the rejection a bit hard to accept. I feel like he's waiting to feel something that is never going to come. And meanwhile, this lack of connection is really devastating for him.
I think that the thing that hurts the most, is knowing that I'm not able to show him the love I feel for him. I want him to know and feel as special as I see and know him to be. Instead I have to live with the fact that instead of me being able to love and hold him, he'll be paying a male escort for something that isn't real. I want to be there for him and support him now as a friend, but I don't know that I can bear to hear the tale of this male escort encounter if it comes to that.
Sidenote: I want him to be happy, so I would love for him to meet someone else and fall in love with them. And if he believes himself to be homoromantic (he says he doesn't know his romantic orientation because he's never been in a relationship), then I support him and I'm not going to question it. Also I know that regardless of how I feel about it, I have to respect his desire to be in a relationship where he experiences that mutual attraction. This is me just venting about being rejected, I suppose... rambling now so I'mma stop lol.

2023.06.09 06:20 GussOfReddit I just finished S4 and I am completely in love with this show.
I have not binged a show like this since early 2021. This show is just so fantastic to me.
It is an extremely entertaining show to me and the cast has insane chemistry with one another. I buy practically every relationship on the show. My favorite is Chen and Tamara, I absolutely buy that big sister-little sister relationship they seem to have. Nolan has fantastic chemistry with nearly everyone on the show especially Harper and Grey. I always love seeing him ride with them. The only chemistry I ever questioned was the romantic chemistry between Chen and Nolan. That was weird.
In what seems to be an unpopular opinion, I adore Bailey. She is literally everything it's so funny to me. The scenes in 4x22 where she basically becomes Black Widow have been in my head for the last hour. It's so camp, she is essentially Barbie in that she works literally ever job in the world. They're gonna need a presidential pardon in season 6 and they're gonna call the Chief of Staff and BOOM it's gonna be Bailey.
After every episode I check the episode's discussion thread and I'm kinda surprised at how much people dislike some episodes and character that I love but to each their own. I'm in love with this show and I'm kinda sad I'm about to catch up to it soon.

Maximizing Your Budget: Exploring Storm Proxies Pricing
When it comes to web scraping and other online activities that require multiple IP addresses, proxies are essential. Storm Proxies is a well-known provider of proxies with a range of features such as rotating IPs, backconnect proxies, and dedicated proxies. In this article, we will focus on Storm Proxies' pricing and how it can help you maximize your budget.
Storm Proxies offers three main types of proxies: rotating, backconnect, and dedicated. Rotating proxies, also known as shared proxies, allow you to use a pool of IP addresses. Every time you make a request, the IPs will rotate, making it difficult for websites to detect your activity. Backconnect proxies, on the other hand, give you access to a pool of IPs, but you get a static IP address that you can use to route your requests. These proxies are ideal for social media automation and web scraping. Lastly, dedicated proxies are the most expensive option, but they provide you with a single IP address that only you can use.
Storm Proxies' pricing is competitive, and it offers various packages to suit different budgets and needs. For instance, the rotating proxies packages start at $39.99 per month for 5 ports or 5 simultaneous connections, and you can get up to 100 ports or 100 simultaneous connections for $599.99 a month. Backconnect proxies packages start at $50 per month for one port or one simultaneous connection, and you can get up to 100 ports or 100 simultaneous connections for $400 a month. Dedicated proxies start at $90 a month for one proxy, and you can get up to 25 proxies for $1,750 a month.
To maximize your budget, you need to consider your needs carefully. For instance, if you only need to scrape data from a few websites, rotating proxies might be the best option for you. However, if you plan to automate social media accounts, you may need backconnect proxies. Dedicated proxies are suitable for people who need to use one or more IPs for a more extended period. As such, you need to assess your needs accurately and choose the package that fits your budget.
In conclusion, Storm Proxies is an excellent provider of proxies that offers high-quality services at competitive prices. When choosing a package, think carefully about your needs and maximize your budget by selecting the best option. With Storm Proxies, you can scrape data, automate social media accounts, and perform other online activities with ease.

2023.06.09 06:19 Additional_Painter89 Finally on track to starting my real estate journey at 17 years old
I'm 17 years old and just graduated high school 2 days ago. I got a lot of judgement from other kids at school because I'm choosing not to go to university, but I just (finally) started my 60 hours of pre-licensing required to take the exam. Sadly I can't take the exam until I turn 18 in 4 months, but I'm really hoping I will be able to line up some sort of job as an agent very soon after I turn 18. I'm sure these 4 months are going to go very slow, so I just wanted to share this little bit of success with some people who I thought would be interested! If you have any advice for me before I really begin my journey, let me know, and if you're located in the central Virginia area and may have a job opportunity for me in about half a year, message me!

2023.06.09 06:19 SBG_Mujtaba I am going to get a lot of heat for saying this, but people(especially youngsters)?shouldn’t be getting Retro/Classics as their first bikes.
Lately I have been seeing a lot of people getting either CB350s, RE or even Jawas as their first bikes and as good as these bikes are but they are essentially uncle bikes, steady, stable and heavy. I think these new riders are missing out.
These bikes aren’t agile, nimble or fast. Newer bikers are better off with light Naked, Racers, Semi-Dirt or an Advs ,hell even a normal commuter would do you good, you’ll enjoy the riding no matter where. No I am not encouraging people to be “pilots”, but even in normal riding agile bikes are much more fun.
Wait until you’re a little older and have back issues, front issues, hernia and etc to buy retro bikes.

2023.06.09 06:19 BeigeBananaBread Rental Increase x 2 - NSW
Our Lease is due to expire in August.
Our Property Manager issued us with the 60 day notice that our rent would be increasing from the first day of our lease expiring ($90 extra) then asked if we wanted to resign a lease. We agreed to.
After a few weeks of not hearing anything with no lease to sign - we kept following up our Property Manager - She said she didnt know what was happening as our Landlord was not replying to her.
Yesterday she advised over the phone that the Landlord now wanted another $50 (so now $140 extra) - she said they would rescind the 60 day notice previously supplied, and issue another.
I queried if this was legal and she said it was.
I have sought help from the Tenants Union, but no surprises due to the current state of the Sydney Rental Crisis - There is a 10 day business day wait for a response.
So here I am. Reddit Family please help... Appreciate any assistance or guidance you may have!

2023.06.09 06:19 Some_Personality8379 Do you guys think multiple power systems automatically make a setting a kitchen sink setting?
A kitchen sink setting is pretty much a story where multiple different/unrelated concepts all exist in one world.
SCIENCE VS SUPERNATURAL.
I ask the same title question on another sub. But I think this question is very suited and appropriate for this sub too. And this post also ties into another post, where I talk about science and the supernatural being limitations for writers. I will explain how this post connect to the post in the link throughout this post.
https://www.reddit.com/magicbuilding/comments/13zphz5/do_you_guys_think_science_and_the_supernatural/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I noticed when it comes to settings with multiple magic systems. The only way some writers can differentiate between the multiple magic systems in their settings, is making one system science and the other system supernatural. This is basically the classic advanced technology vs magic/magick story, or the magic/magick vs psychic abilities story.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERNCE BETWEEN SCIENCE AND THE SUPERNATURAL.
The only problem here is that the supernatural or science doesn't necessarily tell the audience the difference between the magic systems though. For example, let's say the Wizard can have telekinesis via a spell. While the Psychic can have telekinesis via their mind. How can the audience know which one is science based or supernatural based? And also another issue is that some people view science and the supernatural as complete opposites. This may play a huge role in the way how some people differentiate between multiple magic systems. Again one system is science, therefore the other system must be supernatural.
SCIENCE AND THE SUPERNATURAL COULD BE VERY BROAD.
You can argue that there is a difference between Ki energy and Magick. But in most stories both magic systems are portrayed being supernatural in nature. Even in the settings where both magic systems exist. Even on the science side. You can argue that Cyborg soldiers are different from soldiers that are chemically enhanced. But yet both would be considered science in most stories. So basically my point here is that there can still be differences between multiple magic systems, even when the multiple magic systems come from the same source (I.E. science or supernatural).
AESTHETICS AND MECHANICS.
At the end of the day, magic isn't real. So it's all just magic at the end of the day. Doesn't matter if it's superpowers, technology, espers, magick, chi energy, etc. The only thing that are separating the magic systems are the aesthetics and mechanics of the systems. For, example let's say both Psychics and Wizards exist in your world. When it comes to aesthetics, you differentiate psychic users by giving them yellow glowing eyes when showcasing their powers. While you give the Wizards colorful constructs that represent shapes or symbols to showcase their powers. And when it comes to mechanics. You give the Psychic some special gene. While the Wizards have to learn their powers via talent.
So the aesthetics and the mechanics are actually the main factors that are making the multiple magic systems feel different in the story. Because aesthetics tell the audience how the magic system looks. And mechanics tell the audience how the magic system works. You couldn't just pull this off with just using science and the supernatural as way to explain the differences between the multiple magic systems. To put it this way science and the supernatural is the umbrella. While the aesthetics and mechanics of the magic system are the people under that umbrella. Hope this analogy makes sense lol.
In my second world, I have multiple magic systems. All the systems are explained with "science. I choose, science as my world umbrella, because I thought science would make my world feel more "grounded". In my world the superpowers are science based, the advanced technology is science based, even the magick is science based too. The only thing actually separating each system from each other, are the aesthetics and mechanics.
BACK TO THE TITLE QUESTION.
Do you guys think multiple magic systems automatically make a world setting a kitchen sink? Especially when considering the role/affect the science vs supernatural trope can have on multiple magic systems in a setting.
IN CONCLUSION.
What are you guys thoughts about this topic in general?

2023.06.09 06:18 jackmPortal Benefits of storm chasing for scientific purposes in 2023
What benefits does storm chasing have scientifically, in 2023? We aren't exactly banging rockets together anymore, and the day and age of "any data is good data" is long gone. I can see two main motivations for research in storm chasing historically, one being understanding tornadogenesis and the relationship of the tornado and the parent storm(VORTEX/2) and understanding tornadic wind structure to better design tornado resistant structures(TWISTEX) While close range video is stunning and captivating, and the ability to film high quality tornado is accessible as it has been, it has little to no scientific value, atleast in my humble opinion. Single point, in situ wind and pressure measurements, either obtained from a probe or armored vehicle, seem pretty useless aside from the wow factor. Congrats, you obtained a small parcel of data in an extremely complex and chaotic environment. That's surely gonna help you look for trends in a chaotic phenomena where no two manifestations are truly alike. In order to be useful, I see in situ measurements must be very coordinated, have multiple data points, either at different locations or elevations(if you can get both, that would be great) this sort of effort would require a huge operation on the scale of VORTEX, not one 10 people and three vehicles can accomplish. And that only seems to work well for recording internal tornado wind and pressure structures. As for the tornado and it's relationship to the parent storm, since you really aren't gonna be able to have a ton of data points up and down the entire funnel and into the storm itself constantly through it's entire life cycle, your best bet is mobile radar. In that case, we already have numerous datasets for tornadoes from mobile radars. I think ideally we should try to aim for one or two more "Goshen" type datasets to compare and contrast. But I think there is another, more practical option for this type of research is high resolution simulation and modeling. At our current technology, we can model supercell thunderstorms at a resolution of 10m. However to more accurately model this type of deal we need much higher resolution, ideally less than a meter. Only then I think we will truly be able to accurately approximate a tornado via computer simulation, and understand the true processes in a tornado. For engineering work with understanding tornado effects on buildings, you can turn to physical models. Texas Tech has built one for modeling tornado forces as they move over buildings, and Iowa State has had one that does tornadoes and microbursts for over a decade now. So now I want to ask again. What scientific purposes do you think storm chasing serves in 2023?

2023.06.09 06:18 NodEazy How can I get money off of visa gift card. Or where could I sell a $70 visa card for like $45
I have a visa gift card with $70 on it. Want to know if there's a way to send money or transfer it to my bank account. Or if there's some kind of website where someone would buy it for like $45 or $50 and I just send them the card details or something. I know there's gotta be people out there who would take that deal someone should make an exchange for things like that. Or if that already exists send it my way!

2023.06.09 06:17 IGottaRantNow Anyone else have consistent, lifelong "vivid" dreams?
I didn't realize my dreaming was out of the ordinary until people started making comments about how detailed my dreams are. Since childhood, my dreams are just as vivid and detailed as real life. Anyone else?

2023.06.09 06:17 ThrowRAflorento [27M][26F] Long distance, insecurities and FOMO are ruining my relationship
Hi guys,
I have started a long distance relationship with an amazing girl I met in september and who lives in another country right now. She is beautiful, smart, pretty, extremely kind... I can't see any flaws in her. We get along extremely well, there is a lot of communication and we are not afraid to talk about important things in a relationship. We are in love and I couldn't be happier when I'm with her. However, in my neurotic mind a lot of bad thoughts arise around the next things:
- We can only see each other once each month and there are not many possibilities of being able to live together in the next two years.
- I've had a troubled past (bullying and psychological abuse from my father) that left me many traumas I still carry. In fact, when I met her I was still a virgin. She, on the other hand, had a normal upbringing and many relationships (although I'm the first serious relationship for her). Don't get me wrong, nowadays I'm a sociable person with a good job and nobody could guess that I had the awful upbringing I have, but she knows it and I'm scared she will think less of me because of this. I even get depressed when she tells me about her past flings, this is something very traumatic for me. She has told me and reassured me that she doesnt think less of me because of this, but I cant believe her 100% due to my own insecurities.
- Due to her having had past sexual experiences and me none, sometimes I have some FOMO on sexual experiences with other people now that I'm still young.
These thoughts only arise when I don't see her and I don't know how to calm my mind. I know that if I broke up with her because of these thoughts I would have regrets during my entire life; because, even if I didnt have any past relationships, I know that she is special and what we have is something very beautiful. The worst thing is that these thoughts are affecting my relationship, because they are making me think about irrational things I shouldn't worry about, I should only be centered in enjoying this beautiful moment I'm sharing with her. Besides, I dont want to hurt her in any way, this is something very clear to me.
I'm planning on talking to my therapist about this, but I wanted to know your take on this guys. Thank you very much.
TL;DR: I have an amazing long distance relationship with my gf but I'm having doubts about it because of long distance, not having more sexual experiences and FOMO. Are these thoughts irrational or should I think about it?

2023.06.09 06:17 A_Vespertine Behold, A Man
The slender and feminine frames of the four
Star Sirens floated with an inhuman ease in the microgravity of their shuttle’s cabin, their prehensile feet and tails either dangling freely or clutching an opalescent perching rod. They stared with a novel curiosity out their window towards the small and relatively unsophisticated Earthly craft that had gradually been drifting its way towards their fleet.
“
It’s still not answering hails, and I can’t find any sort of transponder or visual identification,” Akioneeda, the eldest of the group, sang in their musical and surgically precise language; the chevron-shaped slits over her trachea granting her a superhuman vocal range.
Using the glittering diodes embedded throughout her mauve skin, she fired jets of light to propel herself over to a crystalline computer terminal on the other side of the cabin.
“
Why do they have to make their ships so ugly?” the magenta-skinned Pomoko asked; her large and bright cat-like irises constricting in their dark sclera as she squinted at the foreign craft in disdain.
Its design was a smoothly contoured rocket, with a rounded nose and a flaring aft that allowed it to hold both rear and forward-facing thrusters. Its dark hull was nearly invisible against the black of space, and coated in a radar-absorbent material that until recently had masked its approach. The Siren’s shuttle, in contrast, was a luminescent, bright-pink spiral seashell nestled in an array of gossamer-like radiators, sails, and solar panels that resembled blooming flower petals.
“
I think the polite word is ‘spartan’,” the violet-skinned Kaliphimoa corrected her with an excited grin. The crystalline, oval exocortexes embedded on the sides of her elongated skull began flickering as she began reviewing any information that she thought might be pertinent. “
Macrogravitals have a much harder time surviving in space than we do, so they have to be fairly pragmatic in the designs of their vessels.
And remember that, unlike our ships, that rocket is meant to launch from and land on planets, so it has to be pretty rugged.”
“
Kali, there can’t be any Macrogravitals on that thing; there’s no centrifuge,” the Cyan-skinned Vicillia pointed out. “
Macrogravitals need macrogravity. It’s literally their defining characteristic.”
“
They don’t die in microgravity, Vici,” Kali said with a roll of her eyes. “
In olden times, baseline humans would spend months, sometimes even over a year living in space with no artificial gravity at all.”
“
This isn’t the Apollo & Artemis Era, Kali. It’s virtually unheard of for Macrogravitals to leave cislunar space without a centrifuge,” Akioneeda said as she examined the telemetry on the intruding object. “
That thing definitely has a habitat module, but Earth is on the other side of the sun right now. That’s weeks of travel, and that’s if its fusion rockets are functional. And it is a ship, not a habitat. Something like that is meant primarily for ground-to-orbit transport, and in a pinch travelling between the inner planets during optimal launch windows. It’s not intended to be lived in for prolonged periods of time. I don’t think it came here on purpose. It must have gotten knocked out of orbit and just found its way here. I wish I could tell for sure if there was someone inside, but its mini-magnetosphere is really scattering the sensor beams.”
“
But doesn’t its magnetosphere mean there must be Macrogravitals inside?” Pomoko asked. “
Even normal cosmic radiation is dangerous to humans without our enhanced DNA repair and chromamelanin, isn’t it?”
“
They might have died before they had a chance to shut it off,” Kali suggested as tactfully as she could. “
If there are bodies in there, we should recover them and send them back to Earth.”
“
Wait a minute. It’s pretty suspicious that there’s no transponder or identifying markings on the craft, isn’t it?” Vici asked. “
This could be a trap or terrorist attack of some kind.”
“
An attack? Why would anyone want to attack us?” Pomoko asked in dismay.
“
They wouldn’t. She’s being paranoid,” Kali said dismissively as she comfortingly slid her arm around her. “
Vici, save your racist horror stories for when we’re not within visual distance of an Earth vessel, okay?”
“
Reavers are real! Macrogravitals brains get cooked by cosmic radiation and they go crazy!” Vici insisted.
“
Reavers are most definitively not real, Vicillia. Nonetheless, we probably shouldn’t rule out the possibility of an attack,” Akioneeda conceded. “
Star Sirens now make up the majority of all humans permanently living off-world, and that’s not a lead we’re ever likely to lose. We’ve only been around a hundred years or so, and there are already over two million of us. We breed like rabbits.”
“
That’s because we screw like rabbits,” Vici said lasciviously, only to incur glares of confusion from the others. “
Well, not directly, since we don’t reproduce naturally, but it’s good for our esprit de corps, right girls?”
“
The point being, there are factions on Earth who view our current and forecasted success as a threat to their own potential expansion into space,” Akioneeda continued, failing to hide her annoyance at the younger Siren’s interruption.
“
That’s backwards. Macrogravitals evolved to live on planets, and we were literally made to colonize space,” Pomoko objected. “
Why shouldn’t we breed like rabbits? The solar system, the galaxy, the universe should be filled with as many Star Sirens as they can sustain!”
“
And they will be – eventually. But if we prioritize our long-term survival over the near term, we might not have a future to prioritize,” Akioneeda gently reminded her. “
Steady, safe, and sustainable growth is better than fast and risky growth. We don’t want to spook anyone down on Earth into doing something that might hurt us, which is why we have to abide by the Solaris Accords.”
“
Exactly! We’re signatories of the Solaris and Orion Accords, which we’ve always been in complete compliance with,” Kali said. “
We’ve already lowered our population growth to two percent per annum, and have agreed to lower it to point four percent when we hit two billion. Anyone attacking us over that would be in violation of the Accords and incur the wrath of every other signatory, including Olympeon, of which we are still a protectorate.”
“
Ugh. Don’t remind me that we’re technically compatriots with Macrogravitals,” Vici said in disgust.
“
Vicillia, a little respect please for our creators and allies,” Akioneeda reprimanded her.
“
I gratefully respect them, Preceptress Akio, because no one able to launch this ship out to us would ever do something so suicidally foolish as commit an act of war against Olympeon,” Kali insisted.
“
You make valid points, Kali, and I’m not saying it’s likely this is an attack, but we should still proceed with caution,” Akioneeda reiterated. “
At the very least, the scanner still has enough resolution to rule out the possibility of there being any potential high-yield explosives on the vessel. I think it’s worth the risk to jet over and see what’s inside; if that’s something you girls would be interested in?”
“
Yes, preceptress,” Kali and Vici said in unison, each immediately assuming an attentive posture with their hands behind their backs as they nodded politely, eager for the opportunity to explore a non-Siren spacecraft. Pomoko, however, joined in a little more reticently, and solely because she didn’t want to upset her companions.
Unlike Vici, she never told stories about Macrogravitals driven into mad savagery by the harshness of space, because she found them unbearably terrifying.
The four of them filed into the airlock and grabbed a lungful of air before depressurizing, the short siphons at the base of their necks cinching shut to hold it in. The only things they brought with them were a small bundle of additional air pods and a field kit, both of which were carried by Pomoko.
The enhanced proteins and nanofiber weaves in their bare skin rendered them impervious to vacuum exposure, and their eyes were protected by transparent graphene lenses. Hundreds of small jets of light from all over their bodies propelled them across the gap between their shuttle and the errant vessel, with Kali and Vici taking advantage of the vast open space to perform challenging acrobatic maneuvers.
Akio was the first to arrive at the foreign spacecraft, circling it several times for any signs that might give her some idea about what it was and what it was doing there, but found none. She even peered into a porthole, but could see nothing of note in the darkened interior.
When she reached the airlock, she gestured for Pomoko to hand her a small but rugged cyberdeck from the field kit. While her exocortexes possessed more computing power than she could ever need, the cyberdeck contained a compact suite of sensor arrays for environmental analysis, as well as antennas and ports for electronic interfaces. Syncing the device with her own exocortexes, a holographic AR display projected itself on her bionic lenses.
It didn’t take long for her to find a frequency to engage with the airlock control mechanism, and even less time to find a skeleton key that could best that woefully inadequate security system. As the outer door of the airlock dilated open, Akio signalled for Kali and Vici to rejoin them, and they all funnelled into the ship together. The outer door snapped behind them, sealing them in complete darkness that was staved off solely by their photonic diodes until some emergency lights began to flicker on and off at random intervals.
As the airlock slowly began to repressurize, the Sirens – who were accustomed to an atmosphere maintained at conditions optimal for them - shuddered slightly at the feeling of foreign air creeping up against their skin.
“
The air’s acceptable. It’s a standard oxygen/nitrogen mix with no detectable toxins or pathogens present,” Akioneeda assured them as she opened her siphons and exhaled the breath she had been holding since they left their own shuttle. “
CO2’s a little high, but not dangerous.” “Doesn’t high CO2 mean there’s someone here?” Pomoko asked, nervously looking about in all directions as she clutched her supplies close to her.
“Not necessarily. I’m not detecting any human environmental DNA,” Akio replied confidently.
“I am however sampling some environmental DNA that doesn’t match anything on file. It might take some time to analyze it enough to make any sense of it. The power system is failing, which is why the lights aren’t working right. The electrical surges are generating enough EM interference that the sensor beam is still pretty scattered, so I can’t see much through the bulkheads. Keep your diodes lit up bright and stay alert.”
The shadowy main corridor was hexagonal in shape, spanning several meters across and roughly twenty-five meters from end to end. It was broken into six segments, with every other segment containing a pair of hexagonal doorways across from one another, along with a door at each end of the corridor.
“
The door next to us should be the engine module, and the one at the other end should be the command and communications center,” Akio said, opening the door to the engine room and sticking her cyberdeck inside. “
I’m going to do a quick scan of each room before we start rummaging through everything, so don’t go sticking your tails anywhere they don’t belong until I’m done.”
The other three Sirens all nodded obediently, and limited their exploration of the ship to a solely visible inspection. None of them were used to being in low light conditions, and their pupils were dilated so much they were nearly round. Though their visual acuity was raptor-like in its detail and they could see into the ultra-violet spectrum, night vision had not been a priority when they had been designed. Nonetheless, their large eyes and vertical pupils still let them see better in the dark than any unmodified human.
“
The writing is Cyrillic, but everything I can see is just basic labels. I can’t tell for certain which language it is,” Kali said. “
That doesn’t mean much though. This thing is definitely second-hand, likely even stolen. That would explain the lack of identification. Maybe whoever stole it got spooked and just set it adrift.”
“
So, it’s a pirate ship then?” Pomoko asked, sounding slightly relieved. “
That’s better than terrorists, or Reavers.”
“
It is not. We’re space mermaids. Space pirates are our natural enemies,” Vici claimed. “
If they catch us, they’ll pry the exocortexes from our skulls and pluck out our photonic diodes one by one, then bind us to the front of the ship as figureheads.”
“
Vicillia, that is enough!” Akio reprimanded her as she scanned the next room. “
Stop trying to scare her! Kali’s right. This is an old ship that’s been stripped of nearly every non-essential piece of equipment. Someone stole it, and then abandoned it when the authorities started closing in. That’s it. There’s not a raiding party of pirates hiding behind one of these doors.”
“
Famous last words,” Vici muttered, defensively folding her arms across her chest.
Kali once again put her arm around Pomoko in comfort and gave her a loving kiss on the head.
The glowing, sylph-like Sirens continued floating through the dim and unevenly lit corridor like ghosts, checking one room after another and finding nothing of note until they finally reached the end.
“
Now that we’re done checking for pirates, we can focus on the command center,” Akio announced. “
Assuming they haven’t been wiped, we’ll check the ship’s logs and records for evidence of its origin and how it got here. If it was stolen, we’ll send it to Pink Floyd Station and they can deal with it. Otherwise, we’ll be free to keep it as salvage.”
She raised her finger to tap the AR command to open the door, but suddenly hesitated.
“
What is it?” Kali asked.
Akio squinted at her HUD display in alarm, but seemed reluctant to answer.
“
There’s something on the other side,” she whispered.
Without warning, the door was manually thrown open with a physical force that shocked the gracile Sirens. From the impenetrable gloom beyond the door’s threshold, there emerged a grotesque figure the likes of which the Sirens had never seen before.
Its round torso was squat and bloated, vaguely resembling that of a frog’s. Its veiny, crimson hide was mottled in purple splotches from where those veins had broken. Four long limbs dangled down limply, each possessing five boney, claw-like digits. As with the Star Sirens, its pinky fingers had been repurposed into a second opposable thumb; but unlike them, its digits were arranged more radially so that its hands resembled starving sea stars. It possessed a prehensile tail as well, though closer in appearance to an opossum’s than the Siren’s simian tails.
It was the front of the creature that was most alien to them. It had no neck or even a head distinct from its bulging torso. It had two eyes on mobile stalks, each a bloodshot blue with a crescent-shaped pupil. There was a blowhole near the top of its vaguely defined head, and near the bottom hung a toothless proboscis, as prehensile as an elephant’s trunk.
All four Sirens broke out into screams at the sight of the deformed creature, jetting backward as quickly as they could. Wheezing, the creature lurched towards them, slowly raising its proboscis in the air as it did so.
Vici grabbed the bundle of air pods that Pomoko had released in her panic and began beating the creature over the top of the head with it. Though she possessed just barely enough physical strength to walk in nothing greater than Lunar gravity, her love for her sisters and her fear, disgust, and contempt for anything else drove her to assail the hideous being as hard as she could.
The creature groaned, though it seemed to be more of sorrow than of pain. Raising its arms up protectively while keeping its proboscis elevated, it slowly sunk down to the bottom of the corridor as Vici bashed away at it.
“
Vici! Vici, stop!” Kali commanded, grabbing hold of her and pulling her back. “
It’s not attacking us!”
She was right, of course. Despite its fearsomely unfamiliar form, it actually seemed rather pathetic as it lay quivering on the floor, making no sound aside from laboured and gasping breaths.
“
Alien! It’s an alien!” Vici cried in dismay, scarcely believing her own eyes.
Though that improbable, if more palpable, explanation for the being’s origin may have seemed the most obvious, Kali felt a growing sense of horror well up inside her as the pieces started to click together. She glanced over at Akio who was rapidly reviewing the readings from her cyberdeck, and could tell from the revulsion on her face that she had reached the same conclusion.
“
Preceptress; please say that it’s an alien,” she pleaded in a softly cracking voice.
Akio looked up at her with pity, and slowly shook her head.
“
I’m sorry,” she said quietly. “
But that, save for the skill and wisdom of Olympeon and the Grace of Cosmothea, is us.”
“
It… it’s human?” Pomoko asked, floating up behind Kali and Vici and just barely daring to peek over their shoulders at the horrid beast.
“
It’s bred from a human base, yes,” Akio explained. “
Heavily modified, of course. Much more than ourselves, though nowhere near as adroitly. It’s a genetic chimera; probably because its embryo was cobbled together from multiple lines of modified cells. Its hide and at least a few of its major organs appeared to have been grown separately and grafted on in vivo. It’s literally a Frankenstein Monster.”
“
What’s that old saying? Knowledge is knowing Frankenstein was the Doctor, not the monster; wisdom is knowing that Doctor Frankenstein was the monster,” Kali quoted, pitying the poor wretch that wallowed before her.
“
Yeah. I think… I think that whoever made this was trying to make a new species of space-adapted humans, probably in the hopes of eventually surpassing us,” Akio speculated. “
But it’s a failed experiment. All of its genomes are highly degraded and riddled with off-target mutations and poorly thought-out on-target ones. Its cells are barely functional, and it’s undergoing mass organ failure at this very moment.”
“
It… he’s dying?” Kali asked softly.
“
It was probably dying before it even decanted; it’s been held together with prayers and twine,” Akio explained.
“
Good! It’s an abomination! It never should’ve existed in the first place!” Pomoko declared.
“
Pomoko, shush!” Kali yelled, hot tears beginning to pool in her eyes. “
Can… can he hear us?”
“
It can hear, I think. Its brain size and neuronal density are actually over the optimal limit, and its neurochemistry and connectome are a complete mess,” Akio replied. “
It’s probably an idiot savant, at best. It likely has some linguistic capability, but I don’t think it would be able to understand Sirensong. It doesn’t have any kind of speech organs or comm implant, either. Its digestive and respiratory systems are separate, and that blowhole doesn’t have any kind of syrinx.”
“
In other words, he has no mouth and he must scream,” Kali lamented. “
Did he escape, do you think?”
“
It must have,” Akio nodded. “
Pomoko may have been a bit insensitive just now, but she’s right. This thing’s a violation of multiple transnational laws, treaties and conventions. Its creators wouldn’t want anyone to know about it. It… it must have known that escaping its creators and whatever convoluted life-support system they were using to keep it alive would have meant a slow and painful death, but it did it anyway. All it could have hoped for was that someone would find it and be able to hold its creators accountable. We don’t understand enough about its anatomy to offer any meaningful assistance. The most we could do is prolong its suffering. I think we should just let it pass in peace; it shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours at most now. We’ll return to our shuttle, tell the fleet what we found, and then have the carcass put in cryostasis as evidence. We’ll send it and this vessel to Olympeon, and they’ll deal with it. They’ll find who’s responsible and bring them to justice.”
“
Yeah, we need to get back to the shuttle immediately for decontamination and med-screening. We could be infected by whatever microbes and nanites they stuffed into this bloated wretch,” Pomoko said with barely restrained panic, jetting back to the airlock as quickly as she could.
Akio and Vici followed closely behind, but Kali lingered in place as she gazed at the creature’s proboscis, which it still held upright. She recalled that elephants on Earth would raise their trunks when they were dying, and that the ancient Romans, despite being one of the cruellest cultures of humans to exist, had still recognized this as a plea for mercy. Though the gulf between the two species was significant, one self-aware being could still recognize the suffering of another, and be moved to pity by it.
“
I’m staying with him,” she announced softly.
“
What?” Pomoko shouted, she and the others all spinning around to look at her in bewilderment.
“
Until he passes. Akio said it wouldn’t be long,” Kali replied.
“
Why?” Vici asked.
“
So he doesn’t die alone!” Kali screamed.
Pomoko started jetting back towards her friend, but Akio caught her and gently shook her head in refusal. She silently ushered the two of them back through the airlock and, with some reluctance, left Kali alone with the dying creature.
Kali tenderly took hold of the being’s trunk with her left hand, compassionately petting it with her right. He shuddered slightly, letting go of a noticeable amount of tension in his malformed body. Snorting from his blowhole, he focused his teetering eyestalks up at her, and she could see in those eyes a great, crushing sorrow, both from the suffering he had endured and the lost potential of the life he could have had if fate had been kinder.
A life like the one Kali had led as a privileged and well-bred daughter of Olympeon, and would most likely go on to live for many centuries more.
The tears in her eyes reached a critical mass now, budding off into tiny orbs and floating out into the air.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” she sobbed. It was all she could think to say, and she said it in English, hoping there was a better chance of him understanding it than her native language.
Remarkably, he reacted by raising the flat palm of his right hand up to the space beneath his trunk – a struggle for him even in the absence of gravity – and then lowered it with the palm facing up and out. Kali wasted no time in running the gesture through her exocortexes, frantic to decipher what the creature could be trying to tell her before it was too late.
It was sign language
for ‘
thank you’.

2023.06.09 06:17 mr-ahhhhh Why is free for all a piece of trash
Every time I start a match there are 4 types of players that ruin the game. The first is the mk3 bot person as he always demolishes everything (I am in diamond League). Next is the afk bot that self destructus as people are about to kill it. Sometimes they use zenits. Next are hackers with aurthur and hellburners. Then there are teamers who team up with other people and kill all of us. So to summerise, ffa feels like it is just self torture to play at lower leauges.

2023.06.09 06:17 Strwb3rrym3rmaid Lease take over
We took over an elderly ladies lease last year because we were expecting a baby and got ourselves into a disaster. With our desperation to move we toured the place once and dubbed it perfect because it was the only place we got accepted.
for context I got evicted for having an emotional support animal that my roommate didn’t like in college housing, the told me to get rid of the dog or leave and so I left but unfortunately it counted as an eviction because I didn’t find anyone to take over the lease before I left. I ended up having to pay a years worth of rent and some legal fees so my account is in good standing but nobody seems to care. This unfortunately has ruined my life and no matter how much money we have for a deposit or how good our credit score is I get denied from everything. Not to mention we have my husbands dog who is a bully breed and many apartments have breed restrictions.
When we toured it the lady was in the middle of moving so there were boxes and stuff everywhere, when we moved in it revealed the horrible floors. We paid someone out of pocket to come clean them and he said the floor beneath the carpet was so damaged he almost didn’t want to do it. Not that it did much anyway because the smell of pet pee (this lady had four dogs and 2 cats) never left the carpet. The bathroom was filled with mildew, the windowsills are covered in mold. It’s a horrible place to live. We let our complex know and they said that they couldn’t do anything because technically we took over her lease and they don’t refurbish a place until after the lease has ended.
Not to mention our upstairs neighbors are drunks who throw up all over the complex and have tried to get into our apartment on multiple occasions on “accident”, people who let their untrained dogs loose and stolen cars that end up in our parking lot all of which has been reported to my complex with no reprimand. It’s like living in absolute white trash hell.
Our lease is finally up in November, and I’m so excited, but my concern is that all the damage still visible on the property will be some thing that we have to take on for future applications, since technically because of the lease take over it’s “ours”. It’s 100% not fair and it’s going to continue to ruin my life.
I don’t know what to do. does anyone know how to get out of something like this? Does anyone know what I can do legally to advocate for myself? My family deserves so much better than this, and I cannot raise my son in this community.
Pictures of what it looks like when I moved in : luckily, I took evidence. It was never us that made this mess.
