2023.03.27 06:04 Far-Regular15 Doordash is tricking us, its creating ghost orders on purpose
This is the third time this happens, I will receive an order on a certain pin on the map, I declined the order, 30 seconds later I receive the same order but this time it comes with a stacked order, I will accept the order since it matches my criteria of X dollar per mile, when I go pick up the order at the store they will only have the original order, and they say they can't see the other order, I now then contact doordash support and they will cancel the other order without calling the store or the customer, they will " give me half pay, and now I have to deliver the original high mileage order by itself. I could have unassigned but I have a low completion rate and I don't want to get deactivated, like I said this is not the first time this happens and it feels kind of fishy

I got gta v from the epic store when it was free and played it for some time then quit. I recently bought rdr2 from steam and when I try to login to social club I remembered I don’t have any credentials for login. When I booted up gta v from epic it automatically logs me in a social club account but I can’t login to that outside of gta v ingame social club panel.

2023.03.27 05:58 Synmachus Random thoughts, feedback & nitpicks about Diablo IV
I’ve spent most of the weekend playing Diablo IV’s open beta, so here I wanted to share my general impressions, a few thoughts as well as some
very specific quibbles of mine about this game. In somewhat random order:
- Hasn’t changed since it was first shown… but the opening cinematic is simply grand. It has this dark and oppressive atmosphere that perfectly wed into my idea of the Diablo world, with a beautiful imagery to boot. Top-notch art direction and sound design.
- The dark-fantasy art direction is generally superb, enemy design ESPECIALLY. Building, interiors and small parts are realistic and incredibly detailed, environments are atmospheric and nicely colored. The clothing, armor and weapon designs are quite good as well, although I still miss how simple and accurate D2 did gear by pulling pieces of warfare equipment straight out of History. D4 style of gear design is still a bit too high-fantasy to my taste, although a definite improvement over the usual Blizzard bloated and over-designed stuff as seen in modern WoW or D3.
- D4 graphical style isn’t at all bad, but it seems to aim for a cartoonish/realistic mashup that don’t merge as well as I would have hoped. The visual effects (enemy attacks too, but player skills mostly) are kinda cartoonish, flashy and over the top… not unlike your typical mobile action game. I would love an option to tone them down, if just a little bit. Still though, the game is generally veeeery nice to look at.
- The visual feedback for your minute-to-minute action is also really well done. I’m sure I’m echoing a lot of reviews when I say it feels and sounds great to play. That, and the smoothness of the player controls in general makes for a very solid gameplay experience.
- On the topic of the game’s lighting explicitly, I would say that it’s too dull. A better use of light sources, sun beams and shadows would make the brilliant art direction pop out even more. HDR doesn’t seem to help at all, unfortunately.
- The camera is too zoomed in. Projectile enemies will often fire at you from outside your field of vision, and it’s hard getting a feel of how big a zone is when you’re so close to the ground. It also makes the less flattering parts of the graphics, which you’re mostly supposed to see from afar, more noticeable. As it is, D4 camera reminds me of how mobile action games use a more focused field of view as a way to both save money on the environment budget and help camouflage their technical misery.
- I’m on the fence with the UI. While not horrible, it, again, does feel very ‘mobile game’. I love daring and universe-appropriate UI, so if that’s something Blizzard might go over someday, I’d be curious to see how that lands. I doubt they will tho.
- The blood effects aren’t great. You usually barely notice it, and when you do, it’s a cartoonish splash of red paint crudely splattered before vanishing into thin air. The few traces of it you have left on the ground is like a thick coat of plasma, when it should sink into the earth and slowly dissipate. If Warcraft III in 2002 could support this, I’m sure D4 can.
- Enemy corpses disappear too often and too soon. I’m aware that having multiple assets on screen, even inanimate, would be heavy on some configuration… but still. It’s something so inconsequential and yet so immersive. At least give us the option.
- The Necromancer’s skeletons have an ugly frost-blue aura. I know some people will like that and that it’s probably done for readability’s sake, but I personally like my skelies plain and hollow.
- The “corpses” used for the Necromancer’s resurrection are also hideous. They’re way too big and stand out like Christmas lights. I suppose it would be hard to have it like D2 because of the ragdoll physic, but I’m sure there can be a compromise between that and the overly saturated, inflated, ugly piles of meat we have now. It might sound silly to some of you, but this is something that’ll definitely make me not want to play this class comes release.
- I’m not sure if I’m convinced by the online open-world aspect of the game. World events are basically random encounters that you could very well have in a solo game. With the exception of world bosses, I haven’t run into any world activity where joining with other players is necessary or beneficial to the experience. There’s… really no added value to random people joining in and out of your world. Matter of fact, it kinda ruins the immersion. Seeing an ultra-geared Necromancer join your event, kill a few mobs (that you could have perfectly handled) using his undead invocations (they’re invisible to you for some reason), take his reward then vanish out of your (extra-small) field of view, never to be seen again, isn’t exactly what I would call “MMO”. Seems to me that D4 is aiming to imitate the Lost Ark formula… which I’m not a fan of to be honest.
- The quests are very much on the true-and-tested side of quest design approach, but it utilizes the open-world pretty well in that it rewards exploration and interactivity. Not revolutionary in any way, but a cool and immersive component of map progression. Some of the side quests are also decently creative, like the guy whose eyes got stolen. It’s a fun way to immerse the player into the world.
- The way your character sometimes do, or sometimes don’t speak with NPCs is odd. Like, my Rogue answering “Understood.” after hearing one’s desperate plea for help is… strange. I would rather they don’t interact at all outside of cutscenes.
- The overall atmosphere of the Fractured Peaks is great, both visually and audio-wise. Kyovashad’s music in particular is beautiful. The perfect amount of melancholy, woe and grandiose. I could sit in town and listen to it for hours.
- The lore for now is quite alluring, and the overall narrative seems promising. I love the few really well staged cinematics, which are honestly the strong point of the current story. Inarius looks S I C K, as does Lilith’s blood petals imagery. Works great.
- But some dialogues are just bland. A lot of them are descriptive and artificially produced, and lack a certain tone to really fit the world. Everyone speaks the same no matter their position or occupation, which is where immersion and world-building take a hit. Almost reads like on-the-spot characters a tabletop RPG dungeon master would come up with. I also had a VERY HARD time caring about Neyrelle and her mother… or any of the oh-so-tragic crowds for that matter. I'm not sure character-driven arcs are the way to go with Diablo, especially when said characters are this vanilla. Although Vigo did have some interesting faith questioning.
- Following my previous point, the voice acting is a real hit or miss for me. Most of it comes from the bland writing, but I find most characters to be shallow, cookie-cutter NPCs. Their lack of personalities is made worse by the amount of rehashing there is of almost indistinguishable voice actors who equally overact. They all try so hard to sound forlorn and desperate… I would like a little more variety. Exhaling-speak isn’t as cool as Blizzard seems to think it is. The obviously fake accents don’t help either. It’s not exactly bad, not at all, just a tad too generic for my taste. Then again, that is a component of video games that I’m particularly passionate (and critical) about.
- On that note, there were a few deliveries that I actually loved. Lilith’s performance is great, same as the Bloodied Wolf. A few NPCs actually did sound creative and embroiled in their characters, like that priest at the stairway to Inarius, the skinned husband in that secondary quest south-east, or the father on the bridge who’s being haunted by his dead son.
- The dungeons are quite repetitive and linear. I personally like how open D2 maps were in design, whereas D4’s instances are basically loops of identical layouts put on repeat. With the incredible level of detail and care given to the environments, the architecture and the backgrounds, similarities are made all the more noticeable. It’s perfectly fine when you do them once, but I’m not sure how it’ll hold up with repetition.
- I’m not an expert on this type of games, but the build variety seems to be somewhat lacking? Still, I liked how easily I managed to build my Rogue as pure melee with just a bit of experimentation, and I’m sure that they’ll be a lot of alternate ways to play. It’s probably way too early to judge, really.
- The Barbarian Arsenal system kinda wrecked my wish to play as a strictly two-handed greatsword warrior, Conan-like. Not a big fan that switching between a bunch of giant weapons is a default mechanic, as it can greatly limit one’s role-playing possibilities. Nerd nitpick, I know.
- No paladin or knightly playable class… Sadge. No spear or polearm based class either.
Well, I think that’s about all. Feel free to disagree with me and threaten to murder me in my sleep. Discussing some of these facets in games is fun.

Howdy, I run VRchat through the Oculus app on PCVR alone, no steam VR added on, it’s just another layer of resources being sucked up that don’t need to be, without steamVR it runs astronomically better and smoother, the only issue is my FPS is just capped at 40FPS in most worlds except the rare small worlds with high FPS, I’m not sure if this FPS cap is due to me using the Oculus app? I’ve tried messing around with the resolution settings of the headset via the app as well as changing the refresh rate of the headset, Since the time I stopped using SteamVR and started using Oculus App, I upgraded to a 3060 GPU, it was not a massive upgrade considering my frames cap at 40FPS anyways My entire system specs are: RTX 3060 GPU Ryzen 3 2300x 4 core CPU ASrock A320m Mobo 2x 16GB RGB Vengeance Pro RAM 550W PSU Storage is irrelevant but, 200gb SSD boot drive, and a 1TB hard drive (small I know)
Any ideas/solutions to this would be grandly appreciated

Some people are concerned about games like GTA 5 affecting peoples' behavior in real life, but what if those games actually looked like real life? Researchers at Intel Labs may have figured out how to do just that using machine learning to make rendered footage look photorealistic. This technology could just bring gaming into a new era if it is used in the wild.
Since the dawn of video games, people have been trying to make them as realistic as possible to achieve the most immersive experience. PC and console hardware has grown over time as well, which nicely complements this goal. Take, for example, the Tomb Raider games, the original of which looks to us more like a Cubism art piece versus what we have now. It seems that things have somewhat stagnated, though, as Moore’s Law can only take you so far on hardware, and the equivalent law in software can only go so far as well. However, Intel Labs researchers may have found a way to circumvent any traditional notion of what a game looks like by using machine learning techniques.

The Intel Labs team’s project abstract describes how they can enhance synthetic images through a convolutional network, which is a type of deep neural network. This neural network was trained using the rendered images from the game alongside intermediate rendering buffers (G-Buffers), which “provide information on the geometry, materials, and lighting in the scene.” The G-Buffered are processed and used as input for the image enhancement network “where they are used to modulate image features.” While there is a lot more that goes into it, this work culminates in the footage you see below from GTA 5.

If we did not know it was from GTA 5, it would be hard to tell that it was not real. Of course, some minor issues appear, such as license plates becoming a blurry mess, but that pales compared to the rest of the video. Besides offering up chaotic open-world action, one thing that Rockstar's games have done ever since Grand Theft Auto III is push the envelope in terms of technology. This is somewhat debatable up to Grand Theft Auto IV, which stunned audiences with its mix of macro-scale simulation and micro-scale detail. GTA V and the newer Red Dead Redemption 2 have continued this tradition, and both are still capable of putting the hurt on modern PCs. That's largely thanks to their forward-looking design that integrates features that contemporary systems weren't really ready for when the released.

The thing is, even though it just got a re-release on the current-generation consoles, GTA V originally released in 2013. The game's still fun, of course, especially the online mode that has seen continual updates over the years. The technology behind the title is getting a little dated, though, and fans of the series are understandably chomping at the bit for a new release. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA VI (or at least, the next GTA game) is in the works, but as usual, the company hasn't released any information about the title, nor mentioned a release window.
The leaks and rumors that we've heard so far place a hypothetical "GTA VI" at the end of next year, or even in 2025. That's a lot of development time, even if the company only moved into active development in the middle of last year, as is supposedly the case. In a time when almost every other development house (from Square-Enix to CD Projekt Red) is moving to the Unreal Engine, it seems like Rockstar will thankfully stick with its own in-house tech, known as RAGE.

That bit of information comes from a tweet by Chris Klippel, who is among other things the creator of Rockstar Mag, a French-language gaming news site that focuses on topics surrounding Rockstar Games and its releases. You can see the tweet above. Chris says that he has been in touch with people who have seen the latest version of RAGE in action, and that its graphics engine is "assez incroyable." Chris describes the latest version as RAGE9, which is interesting; Rockstar doesn't talk about RAGE as a separate product from its games, likely because it doesn't license the tech.

It's not hard to imagine what sort of features the game engine might include to warrant that description. Heavy usage of ray-traced graphics will go a long way toward impressive presentation, but based on what we've heard in the past about GTA VI, it seems likely that the latest RAGE might be more impressive in its ability to scale content from infinitesimal details all the way up to gigantic cityscapes. We've seen demonstrations of similar technology in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, and given the nature of "GTA", such capability would be perfectly suited to the games.

Another impressive characteristic in GTA VI might just be the NPC AI. Historically, Grand Theft Auto's NPCs have been extremely simple stand-ins mostly intended to give the scene a realistic look without having much in the way of personality or believable behavior. That could all change in the next GTA game, based on a patent filed in October 2020.
From what we've heard, the next Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City once again, so look forward to exploring the city's tropical environs. No word on the chronological setting, though; it could be set as far back as the Cuban Missile Crisis, or it could be set in the modern day. We also don't know necessarily what platforms the title will appear for, but based on Rockstar's history, we'd expect it to be available for the PS5 and Xbox before it appears on PC later.

I thought maybe this is the dog I will be able to keep. This is the dog that will make it. I put you on a puppy schedule even though you were a rebellious teenager. I focused all my energy into helping you adjust to a new life. You were not aware of your large size but you had such a good heart.
Your previous home knew nothing of this kind of aggression. I asked about your history. I even did meet and greets with you. My other dog did meet and greets with you. You were listed as “friendly with people and dogs”.
Until you decided that I am not allowed to be shared. With anyone. Not family, not friends, not even my existing dog. As soon as I am near you, you treat everyone differently. It started slowly and the warning signs were there over time but kept being dismissed. I was told it was just an “adjustment period” and he was “stressed” but I was noticing gaps in your training and you we’re severely under socialized. Not your fault. We did the decompression and backyard time only.
Strangers? Off limits. Stopping to talk to someone 30m away? Off limits. You growled. My brain is going positive reinforcement? place training+ muzzle? Sudden movements meant you flipped into growl and bark mode. Loud noises and you flipped into growl and bark mode. I’m thinking afraid? Counter conditioning? How long?
Even my own dog, who you did slow and careful introductions - I’m aware of the 3:3:3 rule- you suddenly stood and stiffly blocked his way. I’m thinking baby gate? Good treats when both are in the room with me? Place training? Reassess with new dog on drag line at all times still?
I am already mapping out in my head how to make you feel safe, how to make others feel safe around you, how to make you stop hurting yourself in a crate, how to help you feel ok being alone for short times and I tried it and I thought we were making headway.
Then you nearly bit a family member for standing up beside me. This was someone not 5 min ago you were outside playing happily with while I watched from the window.
That’s when I knew. This was not going to work. You are afraid, you are protective/resource guarding and you are insecure and you are going to break my heart and my small dog is not safe.
An friendly off leash dog calmly approached us and you growled with all lips curled back and I realized - you need to be muzzled. This is not going to work.
I don’t have the emotional capability left to train/manage your resource guarding/feaaggression when I can’t “trade” me. You don’t even want treats or toys. People can’t even toss you treats. I don’t have the emotional bandwidth for find a behaviourist to deal with the sudden surge of resource guarding or fear based aggression. Truthfully- I have no idea what I’m even looking at but it’s something that needs professional intervention and is above my skills. And I have tried.
I was told friendly, sociable, confident dog. You have some much work ahead of you. Work I can’t put in. Maybe at one point I could have done it. But not now. I’m tired.
So I gave you back to whatever fate awaited you and disclosed everything that I saw. For that I am sorry. I don’t know what happened to you. I fear what happened to you. It’s put me to a pretty bleak place.
Maybe I should have given the new dog more time. Maybe I should have managed him better. Maybe I never should have got him in the first place. But how do you curtail resource guarding when YOU are the resource. What to do with a dog so scared/resource guarding that he will escalate to a bite so fast aside from keep him out of that situation or manage it. I realized my little dog was not safe around him and my mind was then made up. That dog needed work and I feel horrible I was not able to do it and may have even contributed to his behavior.
I wish all the events of the last 5 months didn’t happen. I wish one day I will stop being sad and angry all the time but I don’t think that’s going to be any time soon.
I feel even worse giving that dog back because maybe I could have made it work. But at what cost.
If you read this far thanks for reading. I just needed to put this into words. Im just feeling defeated. I am not going to adopt or get a puppy again I’m going to let the dog I have live the rest of his life without more changes and maybe we can find some happiness.
Please know I am aware dogs from rescues and humane societies will have issues and need decompression and structure and training. I just wish this turned out differently is all.

It's been around eight and a half years since the last major installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, the longest gap ever in a franchise that spans seven main titles. So when is the next one coming? We can't say for sure, but Rockstar Games has not finally confirmed that there will in fact be a Grand Theft Auto 6, and that it is deep in development.
A new game in the franchise feels long overdue, though Grand Theft Auto V, which surpassed 150 million units sold last summer, and GTA Online have continued to scratch that itch for virtual wanton mayhem. It remains to be seen what the next entry brings, but we can assume (or at least hope) it will take full advantage of the latest hardware capabilities.
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," Rockstar Games stated in a blog post. "With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."
Grand Theft Auto V Characters Rockstar Games doesn't come right out and say "GTA 6" but whatever the title, this will be the sixth main installment. It follows GTA V (2013), GTA IV (2008), GTA: San Andreas (2004), GTA: Vice City (2002), GTA III (2001), GTA 2 (1999), and the original GTA release (1997). That's 25 years of GTA, folks.
It seems more than plausible that GTA 6 will tap into the hardware capabilities of the latest generation game consoles (Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5) and graphics cards (Ampere and RDNA 2), given that a remaster of GTA V is headed to systems on next month.
As to what GTA 6 will bring to the table, supposed leaks and rumors have been all over the map. There's been chatter of a return to Miami with Liberty City and Vice City making appearances, and players being able to assume the role of a drug lord. GTA 6 is also rumored to be the most expansive title in the franchise yet.
For now we'll have to keep guessing, as Rockstar Games says it will be "sharing more as soon as we are ready." Waiting is the hard part, but knowing GTA 6 is happening and is deep in development will have to suffice for the time being.

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most profitable entertainment franchises in the history of games. It came along as a return to form after what many fans would argue was a misstep with the more gritty and realistic GTA 4. Originally released back in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3—yes, it spans three console generations—developer Rockstar has supported the game's online mode with continual updates adding new content, new areas, and even all-new mechanics.
GTA V was such a runaway success—and GTA The Trilogy: Definitive Edition was such a dumpster fire—that Rockstar gave up working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC, and has now reportedly abandoned plans to remaster more of its beloved older titles to instead focus on both further GTA Online content as well as the development of GTA 6.

Naturally, expectations for GTA 6 are incredibly high, and given the advanced age of GTA V, fans are chomping at the bit for any bit of news. That's why there's so much buzz around a report at Bloomberg that focuses on Rockstar's new corporate culture. Company co-founder Dan Houser left Rockstar in 2020, and ever since then the development house has been trying to reshape a corporate culture that the report refers to as being "like a frat house".
Given the nature and tone of the humor in the Grand Theft Auto series, it's really not surprising to hear that the atmosphere inside Rockstar was juvenile and chauvinistic. The report remarks that the workplace culture at Rockstar was "full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs." That may sound like a good time to some, but it's admittedly not very professional.

As part of the report, author Jason Schreier casually reveals that GTA 6 will have at least two playable protagonists, and that one of them will be a Latina woman. This technically isn't the first playable woman nor even the first playable Hispanic woman in the GTA series; the very first GTA game featured a Latina named "Katie" as one of its eight playable characters.
Still, very few of the series' modern fans even remember the old DOS-based Grand Theft Auto, so we can forgive everyone for forgetting about poor Katie. Regardless, the new girl will apparently be part of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like crime duo, calling to mind the partnership between Claude and Catalina in the beginning of Grand Theft Auto III. Hopefully the partnership between the new player characters in GTA 6 doesn't end the same way that one did.

AMD is just starting to get its feet wet with its answer to NVIDIA DLSS 2.0: FidelityFX Super Resolution. While several games have been announced with native FidelityFX Super Resolution, some modders are taking matters into their own hands with games that haven't yet received an official update (or likely won't at any time in the future). Such is the case with Grand Theft Auto V, which has long been a popular choice for modders to showcase their skills at improving the game's graphics. NarutoUA1337 turned his attention to GTA V with a wicked cool mod that replaces the game's internal scaler with FidelityFX Super Resolution. With this mod in place, in-game controls allow you to adjust the Frame Scaling Mode with ease.
Play As with NVIDIA's competing DLSS 2.0, FidelityFX Super Resolution can render games at a lower resolution, and upscale them with improved image quality without the same performance hit as running the game at a higher native resolution. With NarutoUA1337's mod, you have four scaling options that can be selected from the Advanced Graphics Settings menu within GTA V:
0.5x (Performance Mode) 0.667x (Balanced Mode) 0.75x (Quality Mode) 0.883x (Ultra Quality Mode) Check out the video embed above to see the differences between the native scaler and the mod in real-time as if you were playing the game. If you're still finding it hard to pick up on the differences, look at these three high-resolution screengrabs, which may be easier to discern closeup.
While the frame rates stay roughly the same using the game's native upscaler versus the FidelityFX Super Resolution mod, there's a noticeable improvement to overall image quality to our eyes. And according to NarutoUA1337, it only took a "few hours for basic prototype and couple of evenings for code polishing and bugfixing."
